Bud was an Iraan Brave, yesterday Bob McKay was a Crane Golden Crane, and 71 was Kermit Yellowjacket Leo Brooks. Man there was some great football in the Permian Basin back then.
So to recap, ESPN fires lots of on air talent. However, they retain:
Stephen A Smith
Skip Bayless
Beth Mowins
Desmond Howard
That is an organ-I-zation that should be nuked from orbit. Immediately if not sooner.
Tbf this rule which was adopted in 1908, was suspended from 1931 to 1954 (except that it was re-instituted for one season in 1939 before being removed gain in 1940). Ted Williams would have had 14 in 1941 had the rule remained, and he would have hit .419! Per the Google machine (Wiki).
Since you brought Jared up, I would like to brag on his defense. The guy was only charged with 2 errors, and he is as good as any 1B we've had in the last fifty years at turning the 3-6-3 DP. That is a tough play, and he turned it flawlessly many times this year.
All of the posters "Jonesing" for him to go OF need to cease and desist.
Yeah it took me a while, but it is apparent that Donewald left us. hate that because the offense was really good last year and he was supposed to be in charge. But if he left butthurt (or just left), we need to move on. As I've said, like the Haith hire.
