  1. Seems like he played the game right. Doesn’t do shit yet still gets the throne.
  2. I took out a addendum on my homeowners policy. Problem is I can’t replace the watches based on what I insured them for and what the crazy prices are now for the same watches.
  3. His tweet below that stating Ginni Thomas is a great American is worse.
  4. I switched to Fox and it was Tucker interviewing a guy about Biden’s war on menthol cigarettes. WTF
  5. A few more to add..... and what may be the best song off of one of the best albums ever made.
  6. It pains me when my kid puts ketchup on a hot dog and not any kind of mustard. I am a bad parent and feel shame for that. I do love an egg roll with Chinese hot mustard mixed with duck sauce.
  7. This is why I have all my money buried in coffee cans in my back yard.
  8. Just got back from a conference at the MGM this week. 4 days is too much Vegas for me especially in June when its 108 degrees. Hit Craft Steakhouse a few times at the MGM which was pretty good. The Wagyu skirt steak was pretty fantastic. Best part was the group I was with threw a 90's party with Ton Loc, Young MC, Rob Base and Mark McGrath (Sugar Ray). I enjoyed that which I guess shows how old I am.
  9. Bumping this as I will be in Vancouver for the first time next month for a full day and night after a cruise. I will be with a dozen of my wife's family so anybody got any can't miss places to eat for lunch/dinner while there? Not sure what we will do all day but if the weather is good guessing Stanley Park and Granby Island will make the list.
  10. Just to add a couple more great hooks/intros from the disco era starting with a great one from a porn star. Macho Man has the more disco sounding intro but this is more iconic. I had to add my favorite Donna Summer song even though the intro is slow and the real "disco" starts in the middle of the song.
  11. Great thread and definitely some "not disco" stuff on here but still great songs. I will echo the "Birdland" Jazz not being Disco at all and if you want the better version go to youtube and listen to Weather Report do the original with Jaco on bass. Also, a cool fact about Jive Talkin' by the Bee Gees was that opening riff is actually the sound/rhythm of a car when you drive over the bridge from Miami to Miami Beach and the tires go over the gaps in the cement. Barry Gibb heard that groove while driving and replicated it. I will now add a few disco songs with great opening hooks that I am surprised were missed.
  12. This right here. Fox News is currently talking about Biden’s late night performance the other night and how he is senile. Nothing about the hearing. Says it all really.
  13. I am ready for this part of the hearing. and if we had the technology I am all for this happening to Trump and lackeys.
  14. Frasier for longevity but there were a bunch of successful spinoffs back in the 70s and 80s. The Jeffersons, Good Times, Maude all came from All in the Family. Benson came from Soap, Laverne and Shirley plus Mork and Mindy from Happy Days, Facts of Life was from Different Strokes I think. As far as Cheers it was just a great show for so long and with different casts which you rarely see. The Diane/Coach years and the Rebecca/Woody years are both great yet different.
  15. How about if all the attendees magically got Monkey pox. That would be ok wouldn’t it? You know, in a karma kind of way.
  16. The rosemary old fashioned at the Fairmont in Banff is quite tasty.
  17. He is a troll, and not even a good one. What is interesting is that after a horrific tragedy where 21 people were killed including 19 elementary school children, markstanco feels what is most important is to go on a Longhorn message board and argue about the wonders of gun ownership. It’s not that he is right or wrong on his views on gun laws (he is wrong) but that he chooses to argue it at this time is all you need to know that he is a piece of shit. I guess I get to use the ignore button again on this site. Not because I disagree with him but because he brings nothing worthwhile to this discussion or to this world in general.
  18. So about your 3 points above. I am pretty sure you could get 48 Dem Senators to vote for those. Maybe even Sinema and Manchin also would vote for those. You know the rules require 60 total votes so name me 10 R Senators that would agree to those? Shit, name me 5 just for shits and giggles. How again is this both sides?
  19. Just because he failed in businesses like football, casinos and steak doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what he is doing. Maybe those products (football, gambling and red meat) are things Americans have no interest in.
  20. As a former sax player you all have picked a lot of great ones. I will add this live performance by Spyro Gyra at the Newport Jazz Festival from 1985. Jay Beckenstein kills it especially at the solo at the very end of the song. Also, the dude on the vibes has some of the best solos you will ever hear.
  21. I have been to Banff many times and it’s my wife’s favorite place to go to. I think she would move there if we could. We stayed in Canmore once at a hotel/condo type place and it was really nice and quiet. Have stayed at the Fairmont in Banff for work trips a few times and its the best but that is also on my companies expense account. Definitely rent a car and head towards Lake Louise. Next to Lake Louise is Moraine Lake which in my opinion is one of the best views in the world if you go to the left when you get there and walk up the rock formation about 5 minutes. We have taken the gondolas at Lake Louise up to the top to check out bears and have lunch on the outside deck which is great (although the wife and kid were disgusted at me when I ordered the lunch special of rabbit stew which was fantastic). I would also check out Emerald Lake and Peyto Lake. For waterfalls we went to Takakkaw Falls which is great and we also enjoyed the hike at Johnston Canyon Upper and Lower Falls and the road that takes you there is known for a good chance to see wild animals. We have seen Grizzly bears and moose on that highway. We have also driven farther north to the ice fields to walk on the glacier. My kid enjoyed that a ton. I honestly can’t remember the restaurants we have eaten out (some high end in Banff and some cheaper places) but they have all been pretty good. Across from the Fairmont in Banff you can take a gondola up to the top of the mountain ridge and walk on a wooden path that takes you to a ranger station that is pretty cool. Also attached to the Fairmont is a bowling place with 5 pin bowling with a little ball (like a bocci ball) that is a bunch of fun for kids and adults. If you are a golfer, the golf course in Banff Springs is spectacular with Elk roaming around the greens and whatnot. Hope that helps.
  22. Can we all at least agree that Keith Richards is the exception in that he is immortal but not a horrible person? Just a genius guitarist drug abuser. You can now continue with your talk about the News Network of the Third Reich…. Err, Fox News.
