  1. I am not a huge fan of the new 222 as all that gold is a little much for my style. At this point I can sell my VC Overseas and use the money to buy house with how outrageous the pricing has become.
  2. How about the new Vacheron release? Yellow gold 222. Maybe a nice Patek? Someday I need to go to the Watches and Wonders show in Geneva.
  3. Is the new Rolex going by Sprite or Riddler? Not a fan of it and still prefer the other GMTs especially the Rootbeer.
  4. I for one was starting to worry that PAC got conscripted into the Russian Army and died in Ukraine so good to know he is still alive, I guess.
  5. Anyone watch this yet. I watched the first one and I think I liked it but it’s definitely confusing since I really don’t know this character or the back story.
  6. I literally just gave away my unopened Godfather 1 and 2 DVD set since I never used them and don't even have a DVD player anymore. I always tend to like 2 better because I find the flipping back and forth between timelines more interesting.
  7. I totally agree that 1 & 2 are probably my favorite movies of all time. What I find difficult is figuring out which of those two movies is better. You get Brando in 1 but DeNiro in 2 who does a great job of acting like Brando in Vito’s younger days. There are very few perfect movies and both of these are perfect.
  8. The refs have called this game differently for each team which is bullshit. They are calling Texas for every ticky tack call and they are letting Purdue play rougher on D than they are letting us play. It has nothing to do with one team is bigger or one team is taking jumpers and not driving to the hole. They have called it this way since the tip off. Guessing they have money on Purdue.
  9. These refs suck. Calling fouls every time the Purdue big guy shoots is a joke.
  10. There are two episodes that stand out to me. One is when Marie does the sculpture, and the other is when Robert dates the frog woman.
  11. Nature Boy also say hi. Hall was one of my faves and it sucks to see him about to be gone.
  12. Just found this thread so I thought I would share my “connection” to this life. I grew up in S. Florida in the 70’s/80’s. I never realized my father’s connection to that world until I was in college at UT watching Goodfellas and I started realizing growing up all my dad’s friends had nicknames just like in the movie. I came home from college and had a long talk with him and he told me everything. My father’s friend was my “uncle Oscar”. He was a little Armenian guy and our families were together growing up. Turns out Oscar was Oscar “the watchman” Ansourian. He was a feared hitman for the Gambino and Lucchese crime families in NY. I still remember for one Christmas he gave me a $100 and told my parents I got to spend all of it at Toys R Us. We are talking like 1978 and that was a shit ton of money for a kid to buy a lot of Star Wars crap. Oscar was best friends with a guy from New York who would come down to Florida for Easter and whatnot and I knew that guy as my “uncle Vic”. Turns out that was Vic Amuso the Don of the Lucchese crime family. Oscar disappeared and went on the run after being indicted and the FBI finally caught him a decade later. After getting out of prison he was filmed in Central Park saying “hi” to a jogger passing by who was also in the mob so the Feds put him back into prison for breaking parole for associating with criminals or something. He died in prison. My dad swore the government had him killed in prison because he was such a pain in the ass to them all those years he was on the run.
  13. Just realized I spelled it wrong. G’Vanni’s was how it was spelled.
  14. Just my opinion but below are some movies I still enjoy and think hold up. Chinatown Patton The Last Picture Show The Sting Serpico Dirty Harry Mash (its campy but I still love it) Blazing Saddles
  15. Yeah, plus there is no way this country would elect a politician from Arkansas to be President….. unless he plays the saxophone.
  16. Daily Catch and Giacomo’s are my favorites in the North End since my cousin closed his restaurant down a few years back. Also, go to Mike’s Pastries and get some pistachio macaroon cookies. They are fantastic.
  17. I know I will get shit for this but after all these years I finally watched The French Connection. I thought it kind of sucked. It seemed like there were whole scenes that should have been added to make the movie flow better. To me it doesn’t hold up like other great movies from the early 1970’s do like The Godfather 1 and 2.
  18. This is the truth. I look around and no matter how much I make it seems like everybody out there has started their own company and sold it for 5 million, 10 million, 100 million or whatever and those are the folks I look at as rich.
  19. The draft rules allowed a team to draft a player in his 5th year after high school graduation, which Bird was at that point because he went to Indiana originally but transferred his first year to Indiana State. The Celtics had the time between the end of his college season to sign him, otherwise he would go back into the draft. It was a huge risk for the Celtics, if he didn't sign they would end up with nothing for the prior year's draft pick. Bird, even though already drafted, stayed to play his senior/5th year at Indiana State and took them to the college championship and lost to Magic. As to the show Winning Time, I finally watched and quite enjoyed it even though I hate the Lakers more than anything. I really enjoyed the Roger Murdoch/Airplane scene and Kareem telling the kid off after he asked for a picture with him. I hated all of these Laker players and Riley growing up so it’s weird to watch this without nearly as much hatred towards them as I used to have. As to the other NBA topics in this thread, the Celtics Big 3 was nothing like the Heat. They were all actually older/very close to past their prime type players in Garnett, Pierce and Allen. The Heat put 3 of the Top 10 players in the league at the time together. I grew up a Celtics fan as my whole family is from Boston but I actually grew up in Miami so I have been a Heat fan since their first season. I actually liked Lebron when he came to the Heat (as a fan of the team would) and didn’t blame him for leaving the Cavs as they never put a good team around him. That being said, I hate Lebron for leaving Miami the way he did. His PR folks made it all about going home but the truth was he saw Wade and his injured knee and the whole team aging and realized he couldn’t win more there so he went back to the Cavs who had a budding super star in Kyrie and the #1 pick which he knew would be traded for Love. Love at the time was considered a top young PF in the league. Once Love injured his back and Kyrie was injury prone he bailed on Cleveland and went to LA to try and form another super team with Unibrow. Lebron is one of the greatest ever but the multiple moves to a better situation is not a good look to me.
