  1. I am ready for this part of the hearing. and if we had the technology I am all for this happening to Trump and lackeys.
  2. One of my favorite scenes.
  3. Frasier for longevity but there were a bunch of successful spinoffs back in the 70s and 80s. The Jeffersons, Good Times, Maude all came from All in the Family. Benson came from Soap, Laverne and Shirley plus Mork and Mindy from Happy Days, Facts of Life was from Different Strokes I think. As far as Cheers it was just a great show for so long and with different casts which you rarely see. The Diane/Coach years and the Rebecca/Woody years are both great yet different.
  4. How about if all the attendees magically got Monkey pox. That would be ok wouldn’t it? You know, in a karma kind of way.
  5. The rosemary old fashioned at the Fairmont in Banff is quite tasty.
  6. He is a troll, and not even a good one. What is interesting is that after a horrific tragedy where 21 people were killed including 19 elementary school children, markstanco feels what is most important is to go on a Longhorn message board and argue about the wonders of gun ownership. It’s not that he is right or wrong on his views on gun laws (he is wrong) but that he chooses to argue it at this time is all you need to know that he is a piece of shit. I guess I get to use the ignore button again on this site. Not because I disagree with him but because he brings nothing worthwhile to this discussion or to this world in general.
  7. So about your 3 points above. I am pretty sure you could get 48 Dem Senators to vote for those. Maybe even Sinema and Manchin also would vote for those. You know the rules require 60 total votes so name me 10 R Senators that would agree to those? Shit, name me 5 just for shits and giggles. How again is this both sides?
  8. Just because he failed in businesses like football, casinos and steak doesn’t mean he doesn’t know what he is doing. Maybe those products (football, gambling and red meat) are things Americans have no interest in.
  9. As a former sax player you all have picked a lot of great ones. I will add this live performance by Spyro Gyra at the Newport Jazz Festival from 1985. Jay Beckenstein kills it especially at the solo at the very end of the song. Also, the dude on the vibes has some of the best solos you will ever hear.
  10. I have been to Banff many times and it’s my wife’s favorite place to go to. I think she would move there if we could. We stayed in Canmore once at a hotel/condo type place and it was really nice and quiet. Have stayed at the Fairmont in Banff for work trips a few times and its the best but that is also on my companies expense account. Definitely rent a car and head towards Lake Louise. Next to Lake Louise is Moraine Lake which in my opinion is one of the best views in the world if you go to the left when you get there and walk up the rock formation about 5 minutes. We have taken the gondolas at Lake Louise up to the top to check out bears and have lunch on the outside deck which is great (although the wife and kid were disgusted at me when I ordered the lunch special of rabbit stew which was fantastic). I would also check out Emerald Lake and Peyto Lake. For waterfalls we went to Takakkaw Falls which is great and we also enjoyed the hike at Johnston Canyon Upper and Lower Falls and the road that takes you there is known for a good chance to see wild animals. We have seen Grizzly bears and moose on that highway. We have also driven farther north to the ice fields to walk on the glacier. My kid enjoyed that a ton. I honestly can’t remember the restaurants we have eaten out (some high end in Banff and some cheaper places) but they have all been pretty good. Across from the Fairmont in Banff you can take a gondola up to the top of the mountain ridge and walk on a wooden path that takes you to a ranger station that is pretty cool. Also attached to the Fairmont is a bowling place with 5 pin bowling with a little ball (like a bocci ball) that is a bunch of fun for kids and adults. If you are a golfer, the golf course in Banff Springs is spectacular with Elk roaming around the greens and whatnot. Hope that helps.
  11. Can we all at least agree that Keith Richards is the exception in that he is immortal but not a horrible person? Just a genius guitarist drug abuser. You can now continue with your talk about the News Network of the Third Reich…. Err, Fox News.
  12. How does Giannis take 5 steps on that “great offensive spin move” and they show the replay and none of the announcers even point it out? Are they afraid to say maybe the MVP just travelled instead of gushing over the great move that was an obvious travel? The NBA can be a joke sometimes.
  13. We feel much better now that we are here and the head guy of our tour company told us not to worry about testing positive. They will make sure it’s negative. So I’ve got that going for me, which is nice.
  14. I can tell you this hasn’t hit the builders yet. I have been waiting 2 years for a lake lot in my neighborhood in Dallas and they just emailed me yesterday they are about to start building on them and I am #1 on a list over 150 people so far so I get first pick. Unfortunately, they also notified me the price of a 3000 sq ft home is now $995K versus the $650K it was 8 months ago. Add in the $325K lot premium and the $100K “special payment so we will build your home for you” and they priced me out of my dream home. I know, first world problems. Still pisses me off.
  15. We were in Croatia for two stops on a cruise right before Covid. Dubrovnik and Zadar. Dubrovnik is pretty crowded but still enjoyed it quite a bit. Walking the walls, checking out the Game of Thrones sites and there is some pharmacy that is like one of the oldest in Europe dating back to the 1300’s which was kind of cool. Zadar was a cool little town on the water and we took a ride into Krka National Park to wander around and check out the waterfalls and lakes. There is also Plitvice National Park with tons of waterfalls which is supposedly really awesome also but was a little too far for our cruise stop.
  16. So i am heading to Barcelona for work on Friday. I was bringing my wife as its basically an all expense paid trip to Barcelona and staying at the W hotel for 5 days. She is now freaked out about the Covid rules that if she tests positive she will be forced to quarantine in Spain for at least 7-10 days. Anybody know anything about this like are you locked in a room? What hotels do you stay at if you test positive? She wants me to cancel her flight and I was hoping to get some input from people that may know about this kind of stuff.
  17. You do realize that there is a chunk of women (Pro lifers) that are for getting rid of Roe V Wade sadly. Also, everyone in this thread that keeps bringing up rape, would you be fine if they overturned Roe V Wade but allowed abortions in cases of rape? It still takes away a woman’s right to choose and have control over their own body which is the problem.
  18. I am 1000% confident this WR pick will be a total bust especially with 3 WR’s going right after that will all be studs for Pitt, Indy and KC. That being said, Belichick will probably grab a undrafted CB that will be a pro bowler in the next 3 years who will then sign a big contract with another team.
  19. His Wikipedia has already been updated.
  20. Urban Cowboy is the most Texas movie I can think of but that’s from the view of someone not born in Texas.
  21. Sorry, but I can’t resist any excuse to use this Simpson’s clip.
  22. You mean this one that is already here? https://www.aol.com/worried-ba-2-coronavirus-variant-195006658.html
  23. So I have to head to Spain in a few weeks for business and was taking my wife. She is now freaked out about having to take a Covid Test to get back into the US and being stranded in Spain for 7-10 days. Honest question, but why is this still a requirement? Covid is here, the variants are here and the testing is not full proof in that I could test negative and a day later test positive when I am back in the US. I get it at the beginning of the pandemic when we were trying to not let Covid spread in this country but now with vaccines and pretty much the entire country having Covid floating around is this really doing anything to require a Covid test to re-enter the United States?
