  1. Is there a reason the HOF hates classic rock from the 1970’s/1980’s? Groups like Foreigner, Boston, Bad Company, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Grand Funk Railroad, seem to be HOF worthy yet the HOF is more interested in rap/pop acts or obscure acts. That being said, Lionel Richie is a musical genius and he and the Commodores should be in along with Pat Benatar and A Tribe Called Quest. Also, Underdog’s take on Carly Simon having the best Bond song is absolutely correct. Nobody does it better is great and a close second would be For Your Eyes Only. Older folks might go with something like Goldfinger but I digress.
  2. Yeah, I get I am not getting a deal in this market, but my current home in the neighborhood should sell for more than I expected a few years ago also. The question is in 10-15 years from now is that house with a lake view worth a lot more than my current house/property not with a lake view. In another words, just using made up numbers, but does a $500K house with no view backing up to other homes become say $750K 15 years from now but a $1million dollar house become $1.5 million or higher based on the view. I guess that is what I am contemplating.
  3. They are actually allowing people to build smaller one story homes (by small I mean 2500-3000 sq ft). The two stories start around 3700 and go up to 5K or something like that. So yes, they are cool with that.
  4. I am basically screwed as I want to stay in this neighborhood but waiting isn’t an option because I am trying to downsize and move to a one story house. Everyone that buys these lots puts a giant 4500 sq foot and up McMansion on them and I don’t need that at this point in my life. So it puts me in the position where I have to get gouged now if I ever want the opportunity to have one of these lots. It just sucks.
  5. So, if I don’t need to move, BUT really wanted a lake house is it stupid to be taken advantage of in this market? The other builders are doing blind bids on their lot premiums. They tell anyone and everyone that this lot is up for sale starting at $300K for example and then you can blind bid and the highest bidder gets the right to pay them for the lot. This builder is basically going by a list (still charging the $300K for the lot) but I figure in a blind bid those lot prices may have doubled do to the influx of folks from CA with cash. Basically, I am trying to decide if the investment is worth it. I strongly believe lake front (in Dallas near the HQ’s of Frito Lay, Dr. Pepper, Toyota, PGA, etc…) will appreciate at a high rate since these type of views are very limited in this area. I am not real estate expert so I could be totally wrong on that assumption.
  6. If referring to my post a little more detail on your response please.
  7. Was hoping to get some advice/opinions on a new build. In a nutshell I have been waiting for a lake lot in my neighborhood to go up for sale for a few years. I live in a "master planned" type community so the lots are owned by big builders (Highland Homes, American Legend, Britton Homes, etc...). I have been on a list to be able to get one of these lots which are highly sought after. The lots won't be availble I am guessing until next month at which point I will need to decide if I should buy and build a new home. My question is about what you experts see as the future of construction costs. The builder I have to use is Britton Homes and they told me their prices on the homes have gone up $85K in the last 6 months and they expect these to continue to go up over the next year. I know there are all the shortages in labor and building supplies but is this still going on in the future or are they gouging at this point. They also said that the only way to lock in the "new build" is to pay a $100K extra in their "buy now, build now" program. If you pay that extra $100K it locks in the price and you are guaranteed the home. If you don't do the $100K you have to wait until the framing stage of the house (built as a spec home) but then you risk another customer coming in and offering them the $100K and they will boot me out and my place on their wait list for a lake lot and give that lot to the other customer. Seems really shitty to me to put that $100K premium on a house just to be allowed to build with them but maybe that is the norm now.
  8. Agreed, but they are going to have 4 NFL level lineman lining up at the same time and that will cause issues for any team in college football. Their depth at DL may also be NFL quality players so even with injuries or a when a player is tired they will be rotate in NFL talent. It reminds me of the Clemson line a few years back.
  9. I still find it interesting that 7 of the top 25 and 17 of the top 94 players in the country decided to go to A&M. I can see this with Bama as you are pretty much guaranteed a National championship. You can add in programs like Ohio State, Georgia, or even Clemson that could pull a ton of top players based on recent championships but what is it that A&M actually offers (assuming we believe Jimbo and they aren't paying players). Is it the championship pedigree? Their last football title was closer to the Civil War than this year. Is it the upward trajectory of the program? They lost 4 games last year just like Jimbo's first year. Is it the great coaches? These kids committed and/or stayed committed when they didn't even have a D coordinator or O line coach. What if we look outside of football reasons? Academics of the university? uh-huh. Beauty of the campus and city where it resides? uh-huh. This whole thing reminds me of an old Simpsons episode (Camp Krusty) where Bart changes his grades from a D to an A+ and Homer tells him, "a D turns into a B+ so easily, you just got greedy". They could have cheated and got a number one class with say, 3 5 star players but they just got greedy. Maybe they will get away with it but it's offensive to hear Jimbo and their alumni acting all high and mighty and not willing to admit the truth. If Jimbo would come out and say, "damn right we cheated and you aren't going to do a damn thing about it", I would at least have some respect for him versus lying to our faces.
  10. Does it really matter? They got away with cheating and nothing will happen to them as much as I wish something would.
  11. Fake news. Those numbers aren't real.... unless Trump is in office and then you can yell at the top of your lungs how great those numbers are.
  12. Bubba's Bag O' Cash, College Station, NIL LLC...
  13. You all are right about DL. I am going on 3 hours sleep last night as I had to fly back to TX before the ice/snow hits DFW. I still wish we were able to get at least one DL 5 star like the 4 A$M got but yes it could be a good group. LB is the one that kills me and not getting LB's in the portal adds to that.
  14. I think we fell short on LB's and D line (and maybe WR), but I will let the experts chime in about that. Everything else is quite spectacular to me especially with the Ewers and O line additions.
  15. It will never happen. That's what pisses me off the most. They flat out cheated like crazy, and nothing will happen to them which gives Jimbo the balls to stand up there and say shit like this.... "It's insulting to Texas A&M because they're ain't a better place to go to school and play ball." "You don't like that we're coming on? Get used to it, alright? We ain't going nowhere."
  16. Is it kind of amazing she thinks he was sent by God yet disagrees with him? I mean, if Jesus showed up she would say, “I am glad God sent you to save America but I don’t agree with the whole help the poor thing”.
  17. I would say “back the blue” or “blue lives matter” for him but since he got fired I guess that’s not applicable. I will instead go with “stupid is as stupid does”. Instead of a go fund me his family should start a class action suit against Fox News/Right wing media that convinced him to not get vaccinated. There has to be some lawyers that want a piece of a case like that.
  18. Not quite. You need to post that same thing 100 more times even when others on this board attempt to explain why it is incorrect. Once you are finished you will receive your degree in Masters of Trolling. Good luck sir!
  19. You too stupid to put your thoughts in one post since you quoted my same post twice. Do you get paid by the posts, comrade?
  20. You’re like 15 years old aren’t you? Maybe it’s a little of both? Can your mind comprehend that or like most dumb Americans does everything need to be made simplistic for you to understand. The article explained turnout and that the black vote didn’t come out as strong for Hillary. It is also possible that blue collar workers switched sides. Now, this may blow your mind, but some of those blue collar workers may have switched sides because they like the racist, hateful rhetoric that Trump was spewing. Not all, but some may have. Others may have legitimately bought into the words of a failed NY businessman that promised he would bring the factory jobs back to the mid west. Those jobs did not come back by the way and they won’t come back under Biden either. They went the way of the horse and buggy.
  21. Not gonna totally defend Shanny but his QB is is a flat out choker. Jimmy G has proved it many times over. Then again, as a Pats fan, I do appreciate that the only Super Bowl I have ever attended was when he was OC of the Falcons and Shanahan did prove to be not very good at calling plays.
  22. Negged because I posted a legitimate article about what happened and yet you chose not to respond since you are just on here trolling. You have posted 100 times that it’s all about race with the Dems. I think we get your point.
  23. Ask the TV Guide guy from Seinfeld. (For some reason I can’t post his picture)
