  1. “Income”? Is that slang for dropping a bag off at his house?
  2. Honest question. Does anybody have any recent examples of a D coordinator or O coordinator leaving for a head coaching job before NSD and it has zero effect on their current recruiting class on that side of the ball? I really don’t know the answer but I can’t believe a recruit would agree to go play for a coordinator and then be happy when said coordinator leaves the school before they even signed on. I know, I know… bags of money, but in all seriousness wouldn’t some of these defensive commits consider another school at this point? I don’t mean just Texas but Alabama, Georgia, Ohio St., etc… or is A&M just such a awesome place to be with their recent history of football dominance and their prime location known as one of the most beautiful place on earth.
  3. Honest question. What happens if Elko gets the Duke job? Do all of these D recruits ignore the D coordinator leaving and stay at A&M or open up their recruitments like happens to every other school in the history of forever? I found it interesting when that 5 star OU recruit from FL flipped immediately to A&M this week without even getting schools like Bama, Ohio St, and GA involved in a new recruitment. These guys must be cheating at the level of SMU back in the day compared to everybody else.
  4. Please take these Ewers/Recruiting comments to the Food & Travel threads. Jesus.
  5. So Clowney and Simms along with Vince were great college players. Nkemdiche, if I remember had tons of injuries unfortunately. Gary was a good player at Michigan but not dominant. It seems if you can get a kid with a 1.00 score there is a good chance he will help your college team based on history.
  6. Clowney and Simms were pretty dominant college players if I remember correctly. Lawrence seemed to be decent at Clemson but I guess our standards at UT are higher than theirs.
  7. Um, the A&M recruits aren’t getting paid under the table or getting bags. They chose that school because of A&M’s great school spirit and the wonderful students and the great location and the dominant 8-4 season they just had. It’s quite obvious isn’t it?
  8. $2.99 for a meal in college? Nice humblebrag. I used to go to the Red Lion Hotel for their free buffet if you ordered a cheap beer. Carved ham and whatnot for free was pretty good. Did that for like an entire summer in Austin.
  9. Are you related to Clayton Williams?
  10. Good to know. So how do I avoid the 20 minute line at Chick Fila that seems to be there all day long?
  11. Not sure if this belongs in this thread but it seems fitting. We kept my kid home from high school today because the principle sent an email last night to all the parents showing writing on the boy's bathroom wall that had today's date and said, "you will all die" or something like that. They wanted help if anyone knew who did this. Maybe we are too protective of my kid, but I wasn't comfortable sending him to school just in case that graffiti was some crazy kid who could show up at the school with a gun or something. Terrible times we live in.
  12. This is funny because I just had this discussion with my wife about fast food costs. My kid had 4 friends over this morning and she wanted to know if we should run up and get some fast food and feed them. She thought Chick Fila would be about $5 a kid and I said more like $10 plus no matter what fast food you decide on. I ended up going with the "send the kids back to their own houses for fucking lunch" decision.
  13. Posted this in the Ewers thread but it is probably more fitting in this one.
  14. So that’s what football was like in the 1940’s. I bet Bill wishes he didn’t let Mac throw any passes instead of the 3.
  15. Agreed. Rick Beato mentioned that in a 365 day period they put out Help, Rubber Soul and Revolver which is pretty remarkable also.
  16. There a game tomorrow night?
  17. He should because the new Pizza in a Cup guy ran the old Cup O’ Pizza guy out of business!
  18. After Christmas? By then, Ewers will have already picked a new school, taken a million in NIL money and decided to go to another school to get more NIL money.
  19. He is the son of the dad who said we got him. Come on and try and keep up.
  20. See, this is why you will never be a true $9.95er. Now, I happen to have key contacts with the Ewers recruitment so I will tell you all now based on what I am being told there is a chance he goes to Texas but there is also a chance he goes to Tech, TCU or another mystery team bidding for his services just like when Scott Boras has a MLB free agent he is peddling to the Yankees/Red Sox and a “mystery team” always appears. Did I cover all possible results and still “act” like I have a clue what’s going on?
  21. Um, Sark can promise him the starting role and then not start him. He can promise him the starting role and pull him if he sucks. If Sark or any of our coaches don’t know how to close a recruit by telling them what they want to hear then that is a BIG problem. Saban will tell a kid he will make him the next head coach of Alabama if he commits and the kids seem to believe him.
