  1. The Baseball Hall of Fame is an illegitimate joke until they change the voting process. I’ve been to the HOF many times including two inductions. I am done until there are major changes. So sad, since the Cooperstown area is awesome.
  2. Yeah, condo with kitchen and outdoor grill. That Costco is my go to spot for gas on the island. And that grocery store you mention is great too. The deli is good and has the Hawaiian lunch plate favorites. It’s across the street from the condo.
  3. That book is awesome. I used it for my trip to the Big Island last year. On the Big Island I will be staying in Waikoloa, near Lava Lava Beach Club. On Oahu I’ll be in Waikiki.
  4. Bumping this thread as I’ll be on Oahu for a few days before flying over to the Big Island. I got the book “Oahu Revealed” which loaded with great tips, but would love other tips, especially in this COVID era.
  5. Oregon hires Wilcox, Cal brings Telford out of retirement.
  6. The other common ways to get to Victoria are: - Black Ball Ferry from Port Angeles to Victoria’s Inner Harbor - BC Ferries from Tsawwassen just north of U.S. border on mainland to Swartz Bay north of Victoria - Washington State Ferries from Anacortes to Sidney, BC (north of Victoria). This route was closed last summer. When operating, get reservations long in advance
  7. Who pays money to them? They are not in the loop and are constantly wrong. Only one of those sites, not a mainstream one, had actual connections, but only with recruiting. Repeating Jon Wilner isn’t reporting nor worth any subscription cost.
  8. I have heard he isn’t on UW’s list and that his representation is trying hard to create enough smoke/hype to get him somewhere better than Berkeley.
  9. Yes, they are tied with Washington for 2nd place.
  10. What you said about tideland ownership in Washington is not quite true. Are you sure you own those tidelands? And if you do, do you know where to? Are you to mean low tide or extreme low tide? Do you own a surveyed oyster tract? Tideland ownership in Washington is complicated, which is why most title companies won’t touch them.
  11. Not quite. Tideland ownership in Washington is quite complicated. Most properties own to mean low tide. Other properties go all the way out to extreme low tide. And others follow the original GLO survey lines. Oyster beds below extreme low tide may be private or state, and in most instances are not owned by any of the adjacent upland property owners. If you are interested in aquatic land ownership in Washington, this from DNR is a must read: https://www.dnr.wa.gov/publications/eng_plso_aquatic_land_boundaries.pdf
  12. Any updated Cincinnati recs? I’ll be there in September for a Reds game and would appreciate food recommendations. For breweries, I’ve already been to Bircus, Braxton, and Rhinegeist, other recommendations are appreciated too.
  13. Is Cuyahoga Valley National Park worth visiting, and if so what part?
  14. Malaquite Beach, Padre Island Natl. Seashore. Every two feet along the tide line was a dead foot long fish. That was on Sunday.
  15. First time to Port A. What was with all the dead fish along the beach this week?
  16. I was there back in October. I enjoyed: both breweries in Islamorada: Islamorada and Florida Keys Key Fisheries in Marathon is a good fish shack. Real fun part was that they aerate the water which attracts tarpon, shark, and other fish. Bahia Honda State Park has beautiful waters and is a great place to swim and snorkel. Not much of a beach, but enough for a great time. Waterfront Brewery and First Flight Brewery in Key West. Next time I visit I want to take the tour to Dry Tortugas Natl. Park / Ft. Jefferson.
  17. Great time to visit the Big Island. Been here a few days and most everything is open. But no crowds! The Hawaii Safe Travels program wasn’t too bad other than the $170 charge for the pre-flight test.
  18. Has anyone here been to the Big Island since the pandemic hit? Also, other than Lava Lava, what are some good places around Waikoloa Beach - Mauna Lani area for food and drinks? Any other must see or things in this area?
  19. Why fluff up Wllingham? He was garbage who replaced a garbage “interim” coach. Take away Willingham, that year, and year #1 of Sark and Washington hasn’t had a losing football season since the early/mid 1970’s! If you want to fluff Sark (and let me help you, not a hater when he isn’t shooting tequila and chasing Joey Lake Union waitresses), he is GREAT with QBs. Holy fuck was/is he good. Keith Price ESPN Classic vs. Argee Three good.
  20. No, talent was much, much better than that. Even drunk Sark could win with it, and he had zero head coaching experience. Tyrone Willingham was that terrible.
  21. With the first fired coach in modern Norte Dame history! Tyrone Willingham was a garbage coach, garbage leader, and lazy. Tom Herman wins 7+ with those teams.
  22. Sorry to beat a dead horse but: Ty Willingham and Mark Emmert are garbage. Washington is not a 0-12 program unless you put shit people in important positions. The program didn’t have 0-12 talent on roster.
  23. No, just the coaching staff. Willingham is a fraud.
