  1. Looks fine now, assuming January is ready to play. Good work, everybody. We did it.
  2. Yesterday morning Bobby reported that Kanu was "on his way to Georgia" for a visit. CTJ said that Georgia mods expected him to spend multiple nights there. Then he commits to us this morning. Did he literally commit to us while on a tour of Georgia's facilities? "Hold up Coach Smart, gotta send a text real fast. OK, you were saying?"
  3. The surlyx thing is 150 fucking million times better than Twitter embeds. Mainly because I can actually see them at work versus Twitter, which is blocked. The recruiting threads make sense now. Thanks @immamac, great feature.
  4. What do y’all see as the ideal 5 or 6 man OL class? Turntine and Ojo seems pretty easy but how do you fill it out from there?
  5. I just watched Ojo's tape, now that we have a Fong bomb. Prototypical size/body for a tackle, moves great, and he's a nasty motherfucker. His feet and balance are kind of a mess, but I assume that can be cleaned up. I know I'm not splitting the atom here, but he's a take all day. I rate him a 4-star+^* on the tokamak scale (^* is equal to half a +).
  6. Tried it here and it didn't work, what am I doing wrong?
  7. I don't get the guard talk for Turntine at all. In my mind, the prototypical guard is a big beefy mauler. People are thinking Turntine is a guy that's going to get in a phone booth with 340 lb SEC DTs? The book on him is that he's a tactician. That and his body type scream LT to me. You'd just like for him to be like 3 inches taller, ideally. I don't put a lot of stock in what Ojo says the staff told him or implied to him. I'm sure that we've pointed out to him plenty that we once took two high level tackle prospects in the same class and both of those guys are about to get drafted in the 1st round.
  8. Yeah my assessment after listening to it was that it's fine, but hardly essential to his discography. Fully agree about him as an artist. I didn't really get into him until after his death. He was really putting out some great stuff late in his life. Supposedly there's a ton of recorded shit in the vault that'll be released eventually.
  9. Lamest possible SB matchup. My interest is nonexistent.
  10. Sweet. Screenshots or this feature are huge for me because Twitter is blocked by my work. Which, let's be honest here, that's where a lot of my browsing happens.
  11. Pretty obvious that the serious candidates noped the fuck out after talking with Jerry and Stephen so they were just like fuck it, this guy is fine.
  12. I had the same thought. He's not an exceptionally large dude.
  13. I have zero expectations for this coaching hire. Less than zero, in fact. My interest in the Cowboys is at an all time low point in my entire life thus far. Yet somehow, against all odds, Jerry has achieved the impossible and still managed to underwhelm me with this Schottenheimer business. It simply can't possibly be real. My brain cannot comprehend it. The only thing that makes any goddamn sense whatsoever is that it's a smokescreen for hiring Kellen Moore.
  14. Just took a quick glance, but it looks like the highest paid NFL WRs top out at about 11-12% of the total salary cap. So 16.7% of what is certainly a top 2 or 3 NIL budget in the entire sport is too much. Gotta be just a negotiating figure from Smith's camp.
  15. I think we as a group were speculating on this - possibly in this thread, can't remember - a few weeks ago. The model going forward for the big programs may be everyone getting on the same page at the same time for a big run, then dialing it back afterwards to regroup. It'll be really hard to sustain $20-$30mm rosters year in and year out unless you have an Uncle Phil who has fuck you money and just doesn't care. And even then, Uncle Phil isn't immortal. What will be interesting is how this it plays out with coaches. Will programs be patient with a previously successful head coach if some lean years are coming up? Or conversely, will successful coaches stick around if the resources are going to dry up for a while or will they try to job hop in that situation?
  16. I fucking love Wikipedia. I honestly believe that it's an example of humanity at its best. It's a throwback to a long-gone era of the internet that had so much promise. Maybe one of the last throwbacks. I've been terrified for a while now of the day that it became a political target. In my heart I always knew it was just a matter of time, because literally everything must be politicized now. I know that people have tried before, but those people generally weren't the richest person on Earth, with a direct line to the president of the United States. I fear that this is the beginning of the end for Wikipedia. Can't say how sad that makes me.
  17. White folks have made it all the way through the alphabet with _aden names. Next up, αaden.
