  1. 100%. The eye test may have told a different story at times, but someone is going to see 3000 yards, 26/12 ratio, leading Duke to a 9-3 record, and great physical tools in a RS-Sophomore and feel like that's something they can absolutely work with. People underestimate how many truly shitty QBs there are out there. Maalik has shown that he's already in, what, the top 25% of FBS QBs? Maybe higher? He either was straight up tampered with by someone, or at minimum was hearing heavily from programs and NIL agents. He's going to do well. And honestly, good for him. Sucks for Duke but that's just the way of the world now. I'm definitely still rooting for the guy.
  2. Jeanty is great and would be a worthy winner, but how can it not be Hunter?
  3. He’ll probably end up in Philly on a below market deal and get 25 sacks next year.
  4. Maalik Murphy single handedly unfucks...TBD.
  5. Didn't see that coming. Someone recruited him into the portal I guess?
  6. It's a good thing for them that no one else will be looking for quality players in the portal.
  7. I'm holding a couple Oregon options that are in the black right now. Trying to decide the smartest time to sell, since if those options end up cashing, I don't have any interest in actually going to the game. All my other modest holdings are on the opposite side of the bracket.
  8. I thought Dewberry was a starter for them, no? Am I thinking of someone else? Regarding Akana, has he played any this year, even special teams? I don't remember seeing him out there. Defensive players rotate a fair amount. If a guy's not getting some snaps by his 2nd year in the program it probably ain't happening.
  9. I think it’s pretty safe to assume there will be some attrition among the names you listed.
  10. All of our recruits have multiple knees, except that OL Mack recruited once.
  11. Can someone answer why the selection committee would give a fuck about Beck's arm when Georgia appeared to be a better team without him?
  12. You've done quite well then. I'm holding a few speculative plays, but never could bring myself to pull the trigger on any Texas.
  13. Here's The Athletic's projection model: They give SMU a 79% chance of being in the field, Bama 21%. Everyone else is locked in.
  14. For anyone unfamiliar, these things give the holder the right to buy a CFP championship game ticket at face value ($800 for lower level, $450 for upper). You buy them for a specific team, they can be bought and sold on the secondary market, and if your team does not make the championship game, you're SOL. They initially went on sale in August, before the season started. I started tracking the top 11 teams at that time. Obviously some of them became worthless (FSU, Michigan, Ole Miss) once it became clear those teams had no chance of making the playoff, while new teams emerged as the season went on. Trading has halted as of late Saturday evening. It resumes Sunday afternoon after the playoff field is announced. Same charts with different Y scales. You can see from the first chart that us, tOSU, and Georgia have been far and away the most valuable teams throughout the year. Oddly, I recorded today's data after our SECCG loss, and our value was unaffected. I don't get that. Oregon has been a great value all year, IMO. Bama and Tennessee both had their day in the sun in the middle of the season.
  15. Where does Quinn end up getting drafted? Serious question. I think I’d be nervous has hell to do anything more than take him in the 3rd-4th and let him marinate for a couple years.
  16. Jesus Christ this is frustrating
  17. Yeah there were a bunch of plays in the first game where there were acres of space in the middle of the field with no defenders. I don’t think Georgia had any respect at all for the possibility of Quinn scrambling.
  18. Every academic counselor after the portal became a thing:
  19. On Gameday this morning they pinned Quinn’s first quarter fumble on Banks. Said he’s supposed to kick out and engage the blitzing CB. I’m surprised by that analysis. Banks was busy blocking a stunting DL. I had assumed it was ultimately Blue’s guy, but he was busy blocking the blitzing LB. Either way, like I said in the OP, Sark was really, really pissed about something after this play.
  20. Starting to stock up in case these tariffs actually happen (no CR). At least that’s what I told my wife lol.
  21. Yep, check out our very first drive in my longcat up above. Our first four plays all went for like 5-7 yards, I think - two quick first downs. Then we go horizontal for two plays and put ourselves in a 3rd and long.
  22. Ever since it happened, I've been puzzled by how a seemingly pretty mortal Georgia team came in to Austin and beat us by double digits. I wanted to refresh my memory on what happened, and understand what it means for our rematch tomorrow. So I bit the bullet and rewatched the entire thing, taking a lot of notes. What follows is a drive-by-drive recap and my takeaways. First off, here's the game on YouTube: 1st Half Drives: 2nd Half Drives: OK, so what did I learn from subjecting myself to this? I thought we were physically outmatched on the OL, but it wasn't as bad as I remembered. A lot of the pressure they got on Quinn was due to intelligent blitz schemes, or miscommunications on our part. They also did a good job of keeping tight coverage and limiting Quinn's options. That said, Quinn did not play well. His interception was a bad throw, and he got away with a couple others. He threw at covered receivers several times. He was responsible for the self-sack deep in our own end, which really hurt us. There were a couple of opportunities for him to scramble for yardage that he didn't take. Mykel Williams in particular played absolutely out of his mind. We had no answer for him. Special teams hurt us and really contributed to the field position difference. I think we got too cute at times with the horizontal passing and running game. I feel like we saw this some against aggy as well. Georgia's defense was too fast to be beaten like that. They capitalized on our turnovers, and we largely couldn't on theirs, with the exception of the 3rd quarter interception. A big reason is because almost all of the turnovers happened deep in our end of the field. Our D can play with them. They had one sustained drive (that admittedly came at a crucial time), and that's about it. I feel somewhat better about tomorrow after rewatching. A lot of the negative things that we did can and should be cleaned up. We need Quinn to take care of the ball, special teams to not be a net negative, and Sark to not get too reliant on the east-west game, and we'll be ok. I expect that going into a hostile environment at College Station last weekend and coming away with the W will help our guys not feel like the moment is too big for them. Hook 'em, fuck Georgia, ou sucks, let's fucking go.
  23. It’s a developmental OL class. Clearly they would have preferred to add Fasusi. I hated losing Mills but it’s not clear how hard the staff fought to keep him. We need to land some real motherfuckers next year. I’m a lot less concerned than I was before we saw the Trevor Goosby-shaped monster than Flood has been cooking up in his lab.
