  1. Jesus dude you just gave me heartburn and the tournament doesn't even start for like a week edit: when will we know our numbers?
  2. fuck it, i'm in for a square. Just signed up. Sending payment in a sec
  3. Lil Nas X has released a new song every day this week and they range from "pretty good" to 🔥🔥🔥. Monday: Tuesday: Wednesday: Thursday: Friday: I think I like Monday and Friday best.
  4. I haven't but it's caught my eye this morning. Quite a few of them at attractive prices on the used market. May have to check it out.
  5. I still like his music but you're not wrong and that was kinda my point. He's at risk of overexposure by releasing an album every 6 months or whatever.
  6. New Charley Crockett out today. This guy just absolutely churns out music.
  7. What should I buy y'all? Need to buy by June but I'm trying to accelerate because I'm worried tariffs are going to fuck me. Budget is $50. I actually don't care as much as most about range and charging speed because this will be a ~50 mile per day commuter vehicle charged at home in a garage every night. I'm in Houston so no concerns about cold-weather performance. So far I plan to look at the Hyundais and the Mustang Mach E. What else? Seems like there are a fair amount of both M-B and BMW on the used market. Anyone know anything about the Chevys? New or used? I've never bought a used vehicle in my life, but not opposed to it.
  8. Right now I see myself, @Scraps, @castolon, @hornmpa96, and (I think) @UTHornFan014 in the league. @Derka/@henrygandorf, @Capn81, @txhorns, and @VolenteHawk gives us 9 with still some time left to recruit. Y'all get in the motherfucker. I may risk bannination by immamac and post this in the football recruiting thread. I tried to send Volente an email from our last league page. He said he's down but doesn't really seem active on Surly anymore.
  9. Seems like we have several folks who are against AL/NL only. We're gonna keep it full league or not at all. 8 teams minimum to be a go. I'm really hoping to get 10 or even 12 if we can. I'm OK with non-Surly people if no one else objects. Also recommend we move discussion to the Gambool thread just so everything is in one place.
  10. I added payment info to the league note and league message board.
  11. We've already got 2 new recruits in the gambool thread. I'm really hopeful we can get to 10-12.
  12. I’m not in the H2H but looks like derka posted up above that it’s 3/26. Day after the roto draft.
  13. He spent $200 on merch at one game but $100 to watch every game, every team for the whole season was a bridge too far? Honestly I think it’s a pretty fair deal. MLB is $150 for the year and you can’t even watch your local team.
  14. I'm planning to make the roster positions/limits/etc match what we did in 2023. Just haven't done it yet. It's all default right now. Draft time slot is set in stone. I think it will randomize the order an hour before.
  15. Surly roto league needs a couple new players this year. Posting here for visibility.
  16. Surly roto league needs some new players this year if any of you Rangers fans are interested
  17. Surly roto league needs new players this year if any of you Astros fans are interested
  18. I know y'all got your thing and that's cool, that's cool, but we need a few more for the roto league. Thread's here if any of you are interested:
  19. Made a thread on Gambool here:
  20. $50 entry. Draft 3/25 at 8:30 pm. We're looking for a couple new suckers players this year. Join us. https://fantasy.espn.com/baseball/league/join?leagueId=72960296&inviteId=85f67521-afef-4633-bffa-9adce4966c35
  21. OK we're fucking doing this. Draft 3/25 at 8:30 pm. $50 entry, due to me before the draft starts. Random draft order. I haven't set up all the settings yet, but we'll do same as last year. 5x5 with OPS. Wins instead of QS this year. Same roster sizes and positions. Get your asses in here. https://fantasy.espn.com/baseball/league/join?leagueId=72960296&inviteId=85f67521-afef-4633-bffa-9adce4966c35 @Scraps@henrygandorf@shadow_operative2.0@Capn81@txhorns@castolon@VolenteHawk@Derka Need at least 8 to go, I'd think, so let's all start shaking the bushes. @Henry Hill and @Brew bailed on us in past years maybe we can get them to rejoin.
  22. Funny how that short blurb has 3 different sets of asterisks. I'll keep flying Southwest but only because Hobby >>>>>>>>>>>>>> IAH. Honestly I'm more disappointed about the devaluing of rewards and credits now having an expiration date than I am about checked bags.
  23. Now that I know what DLR/CA are like, how does Florida compare? To me it just seems like it would be completely overwhelming. And there’s no way the weather could be as good as what we had in California. I told my wife I’d almost rather return to California than do Florida some day. And thanks again. You’re the MVP of this thread for sure.
  24. We traded a 2025 5th and 2026 7th to Buffalo for Kaiir Elam and a 2025 6th. Find you someone who loves you as much as the Joneses love former first-round busts.
  25. Just got back from our 4-day trip to SoCal. We did 2 days at Disney and 2 roaming around LA. Thanks to everyone here for all the suggestions. Traffic is no fucking joke. Took us well over two hours to get from Santa Monica to Anaheim (40ish miles) on Thursday at 2:00 pm. I dunno about you, but that ain't rush hour time in my mind. You can pretty much count on a least an hour to get anywhere. We did the California Science Center on day. It was fine, but nothing special yet. Pretty much every large city has a science museum about like this. That being said, I used the word yet because they are building a new building to house whichever one of the space shuttles they ended up with. That seems like it's going to be dope as fuck when it's done. I walked across the street to the USC campus to buy a t-shirt (I collect college t-shirts). Got (good-natured) shit from 3 different people while there for my Longhorns hat. Grand Central Market was awesome. Felt a lot more authentic than your typical modern-day food hall. We rode Angels Flight afterwards, which I thought was super cool. My young kids couldn't have cared less. The next day we did the Warner Bros studio tour, which was neat. I don't think you need the VIP tours they offer and whatnot, we just did the basic one and got the gist of it. Afterwards we had some great pastries and Cuban sandwiches at Porto's. After that we went up to the Griffith Observatory and saw a very, very well done planetarium show and enjoyed the views for a bit. Out in Anaheim, we had dinner one night at the Packing District and that's a good option. There are several breweries up and down the street it's on as well. In the morning, Okayama Kobo is a must for pastries, IMO.
