  1. Sorry I have not kept up on the shitbird history. And being wrong in this scenario I happily embrace. The dig is not against Tesla so much as lazy human nature. Last summer I was two second away from busting a window for a dog that had been roasting for twenty minutes. Cops showed up at the same time as the owner and the dog was fine.
  2. My sister (lawyer can you believe it) is going through a bit of a mid-life crisis. Divorce, Taylor Swift Europe tour groupie, saltwater aquarium with sea horses, $16k lamp. She's been cuckoo for cocoa puffs recently. She got a Foundation series cyber truck (aka cyberbeast) last week. She thinks it's cool and so do her friends. She came by and I made her park down the street. It's exactly what you think it is. Having 863hp or whatever the three ton thing does move quickly and smoothly. I tried to go in with an open mind, but everything about it is soulless. I held my tongue as I drove it around and had random people gawk at it and give me a thumbs up. (jim sliding low into the seat) To be fair I am a car guy, and most car guys hold the CT in disdain. It has a menu of fart sounds that you can program for various functions, emitted from different speaker locations. Turn signal? Lower passenger seat toots. It goes on and on and super fucking annoying. There's a "dog mode" so you can leave your furry friend in air conditioning while you shop. I am afraid an unfortunate slew of toddler deaths are coming as a result. Calling it "dog mode" must be a CYA. We were supposed to go race last Friday but she couldn't get enough of a charge all day on a regular charger. (not supercharger) We were going to go to San Antonio raceway so the round trip and what not and she deemed it was too far. Supposed to 0-60 in 2.6s. It was quick but I don't see it. In my old gasser I'm scared of encountering a Tesla S plaid in the wild, but I look forward to ripping a cyberbeast a new one. You know, when it is charged.
  3. Yeah. If I remember from when I was that age (and I don't remember much) politics was waaaay down on the list of things I thought about. More than likely these celebrity athletes aren't spending too many cerebral cycles splitting the policy governance atom. They are just along for the ride. I think these two have are probably surrounded by smart people helping them navigate these waters and not get too fiesty in either direction. And they seem like cool cats who are too level to go nuts. Hopefully I didn't just kill us all.

  5. What the fuck is going on in here?
  6. They wanted over $18 in shipping. Tops should be $3.50. Time to get some posterboard and crayons which I promise not to eat this time.
  7. THIS. I've been lurking here (well, the predecessors) since 2008 I believe. I still go over to Orangebloods from time to time when I am jonesin' for some additional football content when things are slow. The first thing I noticed honestly was how unfunny most posters on Orangebloods are. Then the need to post "first!" when a new thread is started. Assinine. My politics as left-center wouldn't sit well there.
  8. I think it is safe to say at this point that the average Russkie does in fact take a dump without a plan.
  9. I was waving a dildo
  10. As a falconer he can suck my cloaca.
  11. Sorry for my ignorance, but who is "AB"?
  12. Let's have a real good time.
  13. PSA: Ukraine takes on Belgium in the UEFA Euro in about ten minutes. Fox Sports.
  14. I can confirm dad-bod and an obsession with WW2 history has not borne fruit.
  15. They really sucked Nazi dong. They were all in. Yup. If I recall correctly they even sent screening divisions to protect the Nazi's ongoing attempt to capture and hold Stalingrad. They were worthless and the Nazi army (6th?) suffered a massive encirclement, defeat and capture. But that was mainly due to Hitler's intransigence on a tactical retreat.
  16. I've been talking with two conversational English Uke students every week for over a year. I find myself apologizing to them about our weak knees. As attributed to Churchill "Americans will always do the right thing, only after they have tried everything else." All they ever do is thank me. (the US)
  17. I'm doing an RV trip for the month of June to the PNW. I was disheartened to find that Mapsco went out of business in 2022. I will accept no substitute.
  18. Dammit! Spoiler that shit! He dies? But seriously when I saw it in the theater the audience literally started clapping he makes an early exit.
  19. SIAP but 3 Body Problem is pretty good. Based on a series of books by what is considered China's best Sci-Fi writer. It's...different. Showrunners are the two guys who did GoT. I've recognized a few GoT actors in it.
  20. Motherfucker! I had been wearing a pine tree flag hat for a couple years before Jan6. Except I meant it as An Appeal to Heaven should that bitchass fake billionaire orange chud really push for authoritarianism. I had no idea it had been co-opted by MAGAts. Those cosplaying twits don't even know what it means. When Jan6 was going down I had some friends text me that I guess you can't wear your hat anymore. I said why should I change, they're the ones that suck. Alas, I lost the hat at some point. /csb Some actual background: https://tenthamendmentcenter.com/2017/04/16/john-lockes-appeal-to-heaven-its-continuing-relevance/ One of lesser known grievances of colonist land owners is that the British would mark the best trees anywhere to be reserved as masts, as England had already cleared their forests of suitable ones. Hence the "pine tree". Really grinds my gears.
