2 hours ago, Snake Diggity said:What a waste of energy this comment is. There is 0% chance fatty’s dumb fucking ass will understand it. I have been thinking a lot about dumbfucks and what a problem they are. About how stupid motherfuckers nowadays are so firm in their belief that they have a valid opinion and that their voice deserves equal if not more volume in every conversation, regardless of topic and how little ability they have to comprehend the nuances involved. It makes me think of the movie Good Will Hunting. People love that movie because the hero literally and figuratively beats up on intellectuals without having to do much work. I figure most folks who vote for Trump probably know they’re not Will, but they might think they’re Ben Affleck’s character and that some dumbass shitbird like Trump or MTG or Charlie fucking Kirk is a real life Will Hunting. But in reality, the average Trump voter, including fatty, is most closely akin to the crackhead girl Will recognizes from juvee while he’s talking to Minnie Driver on the phone in jail, and there is no Will Hunting; there’s just Ben Affleck’s dumbass dressed in a ridiculous suit yelling “RETAINERRRR”. Well…yeah. I mean when a significant portion of the power system spends the better part of a half century singing the praises of how super duper star spangled awesome it is to be an anti-intellectual, you’re going to come away with people who think they can be informed without ever reading a relevant book about the topic. -

I would never own a chow. In fact I’d never own a dog whose breed (with a sufficient sample size) scored below an 80%.

5 minutes ago, chainsaw said:"I did everything right." And this is where it begins. Fascism has precisely 0 intellectual foundation. It’s a stupid person’s idea of a smart thing to think. In the 1920’s and 1930’s, German working people were really saying that and the unwavering follow-up question they’d ask was “what happened to me?” They were legitimately seeking answers to that question and nobody in the power system would give answers. Adolf Hitler was pretty much the only person in any position of prominence to give answers to those questions… They were batshit insane, morally and intellectually bankrupt answers, but they were nonetheless answers and that’s why the kind of people @Beantown Express 2.0 is describing end up following this bullshit. When you have honest hardworking people go on the decline, they’re going to wonder why and they’re gonna follow the person supplying them with the answers, even if those answers are complete loony bin material…and even if said material is being supplied by people who couldn’t be bothered to give a shit about any of them. That’s exactly why working class people support this useless loser. -

45 minutes ago, RomaVicta said:[I see @hpslugga anticipates my post with better information. Compliments.] Dad, who went to SMU when Walker was there, said that Layne and Walker were great friends and planned to play together at Texas. There was something about taking the train to Austin. Walker never showed up, he was intercepted by SMU somehow. Not sure if that’s the real story and that’s largely because I don’t know exactly at what point in the 1944-1945 offseason SMU picked up Russell. I’ve looked up and down for info regarding the exact date for his SMU hire but have found nothing. I do know that it was specifically done to entice Walker, so that scenario seems dubious because word traveled slowly back then and letting it get to the point where he’s got a fucking train ticket to Austin would have been dicey. -

4 minutes ago, statsman said:No, that was YA Tittle (HoFer from LSU) Layne and Walker were HS buddies. Layne thought he had him going to Texas This is correct. They were teammates at HP, but Layne was older and already in Austin when Walker was deciding where to go. More importantly, Rusty Russell was still Highland Park’s head coach when Layne was at Texas and Walker was a senior at HP. Again, SMU hired Russell as a backfield coach in 1945 specifically so that they could steal Doak from Texas. -

I posted a tweet Sunday that shows a pro Palestine shop flying the red flag with a swastika in the middle of it. Is that what you mean?If you actually had the balls to look at the thread you would have seen it. Really you should post on that thread more because I miss feasting on your pro Palestine tears. You think you’re making good points. It’s fucking hilarious

The “eclipse.” Their latest hoax, ok? The sun went down early and it was night time, then the sun realized it went down too early then it came back up, ok? That’s all that happened. The fake news media keeps saying that the moon got in front of the sun. Yeah right, like the moon ever comes out during the day time. Sad! *uses a sharpie to show where the moon “really was” at the time of the eclipse* See? The moon was there, ok? This was just a hoax created by Deep State NASA to sell cheap glasses that don’t even make them a profit! -

Just now, South Austin said:Part of me would love to see Donald Trump run for President in 2029. We’d probably get something even better than the shark v. electrocution speech. Since we’re here talking about cognitive decline, you should know that the FCC is going to mandate the use of closed captions every time Trump speaks by that point.

6 minutes ago, WhatTheBuck said:Not many. Remember this episode? How many do you see? I’d say Jim Mattis counts. He doesn’t suck up to Trump like the rest do. I didn’t think Rex Tillerson was particularly suited for the job. Although he did later correctly describe Trump as a “fucking moron” so he has that going for him. Not only that but think about all the US Presidents who were voted out after one term. The more recent ones like Bush, Carter, Ford et al didn’t return for a rematch in the following election, but if they had, would any of you suspect that 91% of their former cabinet would refuse to endorse them? I would have voted for Clinton against Bush if Bush decided to take a second crack at him in 1996, but it would have required a traumatic injury to the brain for me to predict that Cheney, Powell, Quayle, Baker, Brady, Dole, et al would refuse to endorse him and that he only received support from Bob Barr and three of the obscure chucklefucks no one remembered.
