  1. 1953 was a pretty instructive fucking case on that
  2. That all presupposes that America isn’t/cannot be the bully. That would be a foolish belief
  3. It also bears repeating that not only is “wiped off the map” not an expression in Farsi and not at all what Ahmadinejad said, he wasn’t even using his own words. He was quoting Khomenei from a speech he gave in 1979
  4. Exactly. It’s not even just Trump or the Republicans that those countries don’t trust. It’s us. Trump is shit. That’s known. He’s been a colossal failure everywhere he’s been. He specifically was a shit president during his first term. That’s known. He should never have been elected again. In a country of rational, thinking people who actually pay attention to shit, he never would have even been nominated in 2016 and at the very least would have been primaried in 2020. But we don’t live in a country of rational, thinking people and it’s gotten to the point where it’s highly destructive. This past November, he was reelected largely because of voter apathy, the fact that 1/3rd of the electorate seriously believes in this asshole, and above all, the sub-demographic of independent voters who thought they were so fucking smart when they uttered the fatal 5 words that election is always going to be known for: “but the price of bacon.” Each person who said that shit is fundamentally untrustworthy. They are as trustworthy as MAGAts themselves.
  5. You’re a fool if you believe Iran has even the slightest capability to do that.
  6. Yeah because no one gives a shit about what Iranians are good with more than the Pahlavis
  7. This is probably the least surprising aspect about this whole thing. I was going to go off on a rant chastising the few Trump supporters, in their abject mediocrity, who still post on this particular forum…but I stopped when I had to remind myself “that’s a harsh insult to the concept of abject mediocrity.”
  8. There will be a few strays here and there and that’s the point. They’re counting on the idea that some egregious case will pop up and that’ll be the latest national distraction.
  9. Probably the least shocking story of the year. Par for the fucking course
  10. They’ve been a train wreck for a long time. Every time they use the phrase “the rise of a new antisemitism,” Tinkerbell dies.
  11. It’s a good thing this slap fight is taking place online because if it was in person, Trump would be Felicia and Elon would be Patricia
  12. You haven't heard? Elon is one of those "I'm actually one of you" billionaires. What? You didn't know that was a thing?
  13. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/may/27/former-israeli-pm-ehud-olmert-says-his-country-is-committing-war-crimes “Never since its establishment has the state of Israel waged such a war” You know shit is bad when the guy behind the fucking 2006 invasion of Lebanon is saying this.
  14. It’s rooted in a much broader concept. It’s rooted in the idea of kicking down at people you perceive to be “beneath” you. This is probably the last worthwhile New Rules segment Bill Maher did before succumbing to insanity.
  15. Only on St. Swithin’s Day
  16. You mean this group of farmers?
  17. And even the smarter apologists engage in that shit eventually. In fact, since no one else has claimed it, I'll take credit for naming a mirror image of Godwin's Law Hpslugga's Law: As a discussion regarding Israeli foreign policy goes on, the temptation to accuse the opposition of antisemitism increases, particularly when logical arguments are dwindling.
  18. Which again just proves what's been undoubtedly true since no later than 1973: When the US government is talking about "antisemitism," that's just code for "opposition to Israeli foreign policy, especially in the Occupied Territories." That's all it's ever been.
  19. OP aged like a fart in a non-functioning elevator
  20. lol “stability”
  21. You actually think you’re doing well so far
