  1. Latinx Bambinx also works, if you are sensitive to things like that.
  2. I sat behind his family at a game last year (they were rowdy and awesome, btw) and they were really pushing Latino Bambino instead of Hispanic Titanic, which I totally approve of.

    TexMex

I’ve had mixed experiences with the teo on airline, but the one on Irvington has never disappointed. Lupe and Goode Co Cantina are probably my favorites, but I’m starting to come around to El T. Chavez is my go to for the “cheap” tex mex. We’re also pretty close to Valencia’s so we end up going there occasionally. I think it’s the same people that run Cyclone… not bad. For tacos, La Lupita on Pinemont never disappoints.
  4. Dogs do be crazy like that, though. Otis has a weird one-off puke every once in a while over the past year. We attributed it to us going back to working in our offices and him being anxious, him being older and already being on specialty food, etc. the fact that he took such a steep dive yesterday was honestly a godsend, because he never met us know he was uncomfortable. I feel like I did right by him and that all that really matters.
  5. RIP Otis. He was an APA rescue 10 years ago after being brought back because he chased the neighbors cat… as soon as I learned that he was my dog immediately. he was the bargaining chip to get my girlfriend to come to Austin more than I went to Waco. He was the big dawg boy all of my roommates loved and spoiled. He dealt with moves from Austin to Lafayette, to my parents house in Jefferson, then to Houston and was a calming factor the whole time. He was my constant through college, a long distance relationship, staying with my parents for a while without me, and moving to a new city 7 years ago. He was there when we struggled to get pregnant for two years, always letting us know it was ok and he was there for us sleeping in our bed with his head nestled on my back every night. We’ve had new jobs, promotions, and finally a baby to boot, and he was next to us the whole time. With all of that, the attention on him was minimized, but he took it in stride he was still one of those dogs everyone in our family and all of our friends loved as well. After having some stomach issues the past few days and talking with our vet, I let Otis out this morning. After 30 min I checked on him and he was still laying on the ground, threw up on his feet. I carried him to the car and my wife took him to the pet ER, where they said he had stomach cancer. We put my best friend, Otis, down today after 10+ years of the most unconditional loyalty and friendship a man could ever ask for. RIP Otis, I’ll love you and remember you forever.
  6. My man… how long has it been since you were at UT? When I lived on campus in 09, that Wendy’s was the rally point after getting shit hammered elsewhere. I once shared a couple orders of nuggets with Chris Whaley and Ben wells because I was too drunk to not find my own table… a real bonding experience. Then they shut the lights off cus it was 3 am
  7. We were on the other side of the section but pretty much eye level for all of these… someone with that dudes hygiene should keep there feet as far from their mouth as possible
  8. A few personal notes from being at the game… sat in 110 row 3… 1) the ballpark smelled like the Jester Wendy’s. I haven’t been in that Wendy’s in over 10 years but the smell was identical 2) my best friend is from New Orleans and has been shit talking me and a whole group text of UT guys all month. He lost a lot of money to us tonight. 3) LSU fans were numerous and loud as shit until Hodo’s HR… they tried to get loud a few times after but it was never the same as before that hit. 4) Goddamn, how is anyone going to win a series against us with this filthy fucking pitching we have? Happy to see the offense has come around this year too… too often we have pitching but zero offense. Let’s go win the whole damn thing
  9. These LSU fans are loud as shit
  10. That’s generous
  11. They must’ve closed shit off after we entered. Oh well.
  12. Go behind home plate. No line.
  13. So where are we sittin, boys? Getting ready to head downtown.
  14. Last time I went to one of these Shriners games it was not packed at all, so I just bought some GA tickets without really thinking both Texas and LSU would probably have a sizable group of fans. Anyone that was there yesterday, how early should I get there to make sure I get myself a good spot. Am I over thinking it?
  15. Listen to the Business Wars podcast about it. Very interesting. As for the rest of this shit going on, I have a close family member still blaming the west/US for this issue/absolving russia and although “impartial”, blaming Ukraine’s hostilities for this, even though my great grandparents immigrated from Lviv. What a fuck show that has been in my family’s group text. They may also still wear a certain red hat with white text… all they can do is try to big dick me on the historical minutia about why Russia is justified. Even as pretty conservative as I am… just wow.
  16. She says, while posting something that was posted twice already
  17. So, is this the part where aggy buys the #1 recruiting class in history, outfall be damned?
  18. Anyone have a stream?
  19. I will add that my wife accidentally bought the honey flavored jiffy cornbread mix, and after some initial disappointment it turned out really well, adding some sweetness to all the savory in that dish. To me it’s more like enchilada pie, so the smoked chicken/green chili edition i bet will be just as awesome. also good move adding extra seasoning to meat and cornbread… I pretty much take any recipe as a baseline and add this and that or extra seasoning as I see fit, as I imagine most recipes are made for someone from Kansas that likes their food bland and black pepper is “too spicy”.
  20. My background kinda killed ribeyes for me I think. Grew up in a nice restaurant and ribeyes were rarely on the menu; strip and filet always but ribeyes would just be a special for the weekend or something occasionally. I can’t begin to remember all the times in high school/college waiting tables and a customer that was a little out of place saying, “what, y’all ain’t got no ribeye???” Maybe it’s just my contempt for those idiots that would substitute bordelaise sauce for A1 and I should see a therapist for it, but I associate ribeyes more with dudes that don’t know what they’re doing on a grill and figure they can’t fuck it up cus there’s so much fat it’ll be tender anyway. All that to say, I’ve had great ribeyes, but not gonna cook them at my house and not paying for it at a restaurant. The only situation i can think of is if I were going to cut it up before serving…. And I’d still probably rather have a strip for that anyway
  21. I too am team NY Strip. I’d go so far as to say that while I will eat a ribeye if presented to me, a) i never buy them to cook at home, and b) they would be my third choice of meat in a restaurant behind strip and filet.
