  1. Shitty situation all around.
  2. Thanks. I think it must be the sugar/sweetness that I’m missing, as that’s generally what I’m doing for mine. Picked up the truck of not cooking it recently and that also made a big improvement.
  3. Nancy’s hustle is also a fun spot on the other side of 59. A little more laid back/funky than something like Xochi, but great food and cocktails.
  4. Are y’all making a sauce or using store bought? I feel like I’m never fully satisfied with mine, but I can never really put my finger I’m just quite what I’m missing.
  5. We are going to see my parents in small town East Texas this weekend for Easter. I’m hoping I can stock up somewhere along the way from Houston cus it’s damn near impossible to find here.
  6. Pinkerton’s brisket and jalapeño sausage today was about as perfect as a plate of bbq can get. I think it’s pulled ahead of truth again for me. The inconsistency issues are long gone, imo
  7. But this was just a feint!!!
  8. This is funny, as after yesterday I decided I just can’t talk about anything current event/political with them. It’s fun being called low IQ and part of the problem in this country with lack of discourse, but it’s really hard to argue with someone that’s presenting information that I’m proving false as we’re having the conversation. He’s not a dumb person, either, but as a former marine captain his style of conversation is just to talk over you and present other cloak room tactics. The response to the Wagner group guy’s tattoos was funny - it was the only time he was not prepared for something I brought up and immediately changed the topic. Our relatives would be ashamed.
  9. I had a fun conversation with a family member yesterday about how all of the videos/casualties were fake and murdered by the Ukranian secret police, zelensky and his Nazi thugs will not be looked at fondly by history, and how he never thought he’d see the day where so many people in the world are blatantly supporting Nazis. Lots of rt.com source documents. Our great grandparents immigrated from Ukraine. I think my jaw is still dragging on the floor.
  10. Sorry, I meant it in the way that he’s been gassing up Willow and j Bar M a ton over the past couple months or so.
  11. First time I’ve watched this show in a really long time… none of these people seem to know what to do with this brisket. It all seems a little blasphemous to me so far. Shoutout to @Patricio Swayze’s spot
  12. My base is essentially the Raos recipe from the NYT. Pretty simple as it is but it’s a good starting point (no need to get any more complicated, IMO) . As mentioned above, onion, good bit of garlic, SP, and basil are all that’s really necessary imo. Everything else is just to taste. One other thing, remember that tomatoes can take a lot of salt. I always forget that if it’s been a while since the last time I’ve made sauce.
  13. Saw this joke yesterday on 34th between Ella/TC Jester… that’s a whole year out. Amazing that nothing can be done about this

Big fan of this place. Their seafood lasagna and lamb ossobuco are also very good, along with that duck tortellini.
  15. My wife and I bought a cookbook when we were in Greece that I like to bust out occasionally. One of my favorite recipes in it is for pork souvlaki: diced pork shoulder in a yogurt/tomato paste based marinade. https://www.amazon.com/My-Greek-Taverna-Taking-Cuisine/dp/B07K32YL4L

I think we’re all friends with tech grads (god bless ‘em) who are not the white trash the besieged the stadium with the sole purpose of mother fucking our team off the bus. Granted, one of my best friends is a guy that went to that fame and revelled in it, but he didn’t say anything to me other than customary shit talk. as a whole, yes, fuck their fans and fuck tech, but I can’t really conjure that animosity when I’m dealing with my less smart friends that happened to go there. Is what it is I guess. Fuck tech, that being said.
  17. Last few casts have been shitty. I don’t give a shit about their personal growth/sob stories/whatever, just give me people that can play the game, maybe stir the pot. These people seem like mostly pussies. I think I’m out on this show.
  18. The only time I have to think like a third world citizen is during a bad hurricane in Houston, and I’ve honestly never thought to stock sugar in my pantry. I can see it for baking bread, but what else? Russians trying to get their farm to table jelly business going?
  19. This is straight out of Lil Dicky’s “Dave” show on FX… that’s awesome.
  20. So, actually a semi serious drunk question. Why are all the videos we see of Russians fighting in grocery stores over sugar? Not like they can wipe their asses with it or anything.
  21. Texas tech UCLA Iowa michigan gonzaga Notre Dame Kentucky Perdue Tie breaker Gonzaga
  22. I was inspired by someone a few pages ago, but decided to smoke mine instead of high heat. Boudin (Best Stop) stuffed pork loin. Not a bad way to spend a few hours on a Sunday. I probably should’ve used an extra link or two of boudin but regardless it was damn delicious.
