  1. If your buddy can’t, I’ll can see if I can find this data in shapefile form and I can put a little map together. Don’t hold me to that but it might be a fun exercise if I can find some time tomorrow.
  2. I just…. Chokehold buttfuck…. Does that need any more explanation or should I just take that literally? And if so, what the hell kind of family function allows THAT to happen? So many questions. great band name by the way
  3. I’m finishing up my nursery now - have my camera set up on a bookshelf with a view looking at the baby from a good bit higher. The camera itself is a plug-in but didn’t want to hang on the wall next to the crib. I can see the whole body/face and all that with the zoom lense … is it that important to have close enough to see facial expressions and all that shit? We’re trying to be hands off a little bit so I’m not worried about seeing his every waking moment
  4. Along with some others, this is a major post. Thank you. It appears I’m a bit late on sounding off that I have an incoming nugget, so NoName may be able to take more advantage of some of the points, but 4,5,6 are relevant to me. What the hell is cradle cap? Am I a bad dad-to-be for not knowing this ~6 weeks out? Two other fun notes from this. I asked my wife if she’d gotten a nursing pillow (again, the responsible one) and of course she had… just waiting for her to not be comfy so I can swoop in with my own research and get her a better one. Also, played golf with some buddies last week that bought me a few boxes of luvs. Should I just hang on to it and give to best friend that has a baby or is one box not that bad? The whole diaper situation has me shook
  5. Sounds good. Don’t worry I’m just fucking with you. I’m from a tiny town in East Texas (near Longview consequently) but as an adult living in Houston I don’t really give a shit about the area, but do appreciate when kids make it to UT from the smaller towns up there like Overshown
  6. My MIL pretty much told us we should nix that in fear of weaning them off it being a huge bitch. My wife listens to her mom maybe more than she listens to me so this was an immediate no go for us. I was happy to have not spent a shitload on that after seeing the price, though.
  7. Not like anyone actually gives a shit about valley football anyway
  8. I am looking for a baby onesie with the screamin bevo logo on it… my wife saw a girl on her Facebook that had one, but she’s not “friends” with her so couldn’t ask where she got it. Probably a long shot but I’ve done my best googling and didn’t turn up what I was looking for. Any leads on something like that?
  9. Thank you guys for the good responses. Our baby boy is due oct 2 (maybe a good luck charm for TCU game?) so we’ve got most of our supplies from showers, parents/friends, and just general shopping around. Thank god my wife is one of those planner type of people. The general “new dad” tips and anecdotes are good to know for sure, because i feel like winging it will only get me so far, and I’m not always a by the book kind of guy. And damnit, she bought some of the pee pee teepees…
  10. Whataburger, academy, fishing shirts, Texas flags. Id say they know their audience.
  11. Have done this a few times. After a really packed game in can be kindof a clusterfuck trying to get out of the lot once you’re actually in your Uber.
  12. If I were to buy some extra singles for some family would I have any issue transferring it to them/their Apple wallet?
  13. Surprisingly, that turned up exactly what I needed. Looks like I’m dealing with tomato worms.
  14. Anyone know what kind of rodent poop this is? I’m thinking squirrel… had some smaller droppings like this near my jalapeño plant which was eaten to hell.
  15. You’re welcome Houston. I washed my car Saturday.
  16. Between the thigh meat, onion on top, yogurt marinade, and cooking with indirect heat, it was definitely plenty moist. I don’t see why basting it with the juices at the bottom wouldn’t be a good idea though if you were so inclined. The only parts that kinda dried out were the edges around the top couple thighs, but that mostly happened toward the end and it was basically just some skin/fat. The meat itself was perfect - if anything I probably could’ve cooked it a little longer but I knew the outer parts of the meat would be fine. https://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchen/yogurt-marinated-grilled-chicken-shawarma-9961050 This was the marinade recipe I used btw. I based most of the rest of the process off it, just with a few modifications. I might suggest smoked paprika instead of regular, and maybe a touch of cayenne, to cut through the sweetness of the cinnamon a little bit.
  17. Shawarma platter from Amazon. I used 2 lbs chicken thighs, plus a few breasts I had taken out of the freezer… I’d stick to just 2 lb of chicken though because I had way too much and it took longer to cook. Marinated in olive oil, juice from one lemon, 4 oz Greek yogurt, then cinnamon, cumin, onion powder, paprika, salt, allspice, turmeric, and 4 minced garlic cloves. (Any shawarma marinade should work if you need measurements for this) I cooked indirect in my Kamado grill at about 400-425 but finished in the oven since it started raining. Toum: peel about one head of garlic. I usually crush it under a knife to get the skin off; either do this amor slice down middle, and if there are any greens stems remove then. Place in food processor with a pinch of salt and half a lemons juice and start it running til it gets to a pasty substance. Add 1/4 cup vegetable oil at a time (total 1 cup) while running food processor and let it run for 10-15 min, or until it becomes fully emulsified and will get kinda fluffy. You may want to add a little bit more oil if it’s too garlicky - this stuff is potent.
  18. Those are 8.5” flatbread crusts, so the pizzas are definitely on the small side.
