  1. Franklin Pork Ribs i found this super helpful the last time I trimmed some. Skip to about 2:30
  2. I’m fine with either regular spares or St Louis cut, but I’m lazy and don’t want to do any trimming, so I tend to go more towards St Louis spares.
  3. These kids are infinitely more likable than just about every player from the first few seasons after so far after 2 episodes. The coach is as well, for that matter. I think the no dorms or scholarship comment is right on with the way they seem to approach school.
  4. Not what I heard from South Austin’s mom
  5. This notion that we should never play them again... I don’t get it. We beat the shit out of them historically. My brother went to A&M and we both hosted each other for games. I had a fucking blast playing them, maybe because we were 3-1 against them, but nonetheless it’s a Texan game through and through. I get aggy is stupid and ran away and blah blah blah but still... that’s a non-con “SEC” win 5/7 (being generous) times
  6. Leftover pulled pork nachos... foil went straight onto a plate that’s not pictures because it was eaten too fast. I should add this was before the cheesy goodness went into the oven
  7. Gonna piggyback on your post because I did very much the same thing this weekend... vision grill, b&b, pork butt and ribs. This was the first time I’ve ever actually smoked anything and i was shocked by how easy it was. Made probably a few too many adjustments to the dials early on because of impatience, but Once I figured out to just let it chill there were no issues. I stayed within 10 degrees on either side of 250 for the entire 8 hours I was smoking though, so I dont think it was a big deal.
  8. Just got a ceramic egg grill/smoker and decided I needed to break it in this weekend. I went with a couple racks of ribs and a pork butt that I shredded up for sandwiches. As intimidating as smoking meat seemed, this smoker made it so freaking easy and it tasted awesome. Definitely not bad for a first time.
  9. When did Austin BeerWorks start distributing to Houston? I was looking for some beer at the specs near Off I-10/Bingle and I see like five of their beers. I’ve never seen them in Houston. Needless to say I had to buy a few sizers.
  10. Y’all are all wasting your time in here. The real party is on the Karen thread.
  11. 2020 is a wild fuckin ride
  12. This may be it. It took me a while to get the coals going so I was a little antsy to get the meat on the grill.
  13. There’s one the big exxonmobil campus and that’s really the only time I get chick fil a. I feel there’s have always been on the small side... will do my best to confirm or deny these rumors because literally anything will be larger than what they were previously serving.
  14. Cross posting, but first go on my vision kamado grill with a pork tenderloin. Would’ve loved a chipotle lingonberry sauce or something but it stood on its own just fine. Will have to plan ahead and make a nice sauce next time.
  15. Alright well it didn’t actually play the eyes as my own personal meat thermometer, but I did grill a couple pork tenderloins to christen this biotch. Immediately I realized what I mistake i made five years ago when I bought a propane grill when I got married. (The mistake was the grill, not the marriage...) My wife is going to have to adjust to things being a little smoky, although I noticed even with a 25-30 min grill there was the tiniest bit of smoke ring. Anything to be done to mitigate that if I’m not necessarily looking for a smoke flavor? Used b&b lump. TBH never really cooked on charcoal myself unless fucking around at a friends lake house or something like that. I myself didn’t expect it to taste that smoky (it was fucking delicious though)
  16. To quote a very recent, very prescient poster of ours, what a fuccboi. this geezer was long fuckin gone before I saw VY’s rose bowls and decided i was gonna go to Texas. I’ll save my explicity-laden and derogatory comments for real life, but ol Blake seems like a douche of the highest order. Hang tight in Ft Worth, ya douchebag
  17. I didn’t see it anywhere in the instructions but I’m pretty sure this thing starts playing the Eyes of Texas when your food is done cooking.
  18. Goode Co cantina is awesome. Not necessarily Tres Leches, but Mia Bella in river oaks has a bad ass Italian creme cake that I’m pretty sure they soak in milk that gives it that same creamy texture

    Pizza

Good pizza in this city it totally dependent on which part of town you’re in as far as I’m concerned. If you live by a Cane Rosso, that’s legit. I enjoy pinks as well, but I’m also not going to Montrose to get some pizza from some of the legit places in that area. Any place that has fresh garlic as a topping option should be considered as fAr as I’m concerned. We used to live in spring branch which was a pizza wasteland... Daddy’os was alright as far as local options and there’s one in oak forest which I’ll get occasionally, or Pinks. My best bet is just buying one of the HEB fresh made pizzas and juking it up to my liking, otherwise I just make my own 🤷🏻‍♂️
  20. Buncha peanut allergy havin pussies
  21. Did a little something for the wife tonight.
  22. Pretty sure the Mormons will tell you they have all the leftover gold that’s not either A) buried under the Vatican or B) in Austin.
  23. Jumping in and getting the 18” Vision S series grill. Getting my new patio built next week and this thread has inspired me; should have it in just in time for the weekend. Anything that should be an immediate purchase with this? https://www.homedepot.com/p/Vision-Grills-Kamado-Professional-Ceramic-Charcoal-Grill-in-Orange-with-Grill-Cover-S-O4C1D1/206493536
