  1. What? This is somehow both nonsensical and racist?
  2. Why do we want people who make bad and impulsive choices to have kids that they don’t want…
  3. And even if some “fuck ups” have kids they can’t afford, that doesn’t change the fact that the kids are still here, no matter how much scolding you do. Is the the prevailing republican thought really “sorry kids, sucks to be you”? Isn’t it in everyone’s best interest that the kids are supported so that they don’t grow up to be “fuck ups”?
  4. Would really recommend Pedrosos pizza right outside of Night Owl (burnet and Anderson). Might be the best za in Austin
  5. If it can’t survive (even with hospital care) without being connected to/propped up by the “mother”, it’s an extension of the mother. No one is forced to donate a kidney to their child once it’s out of the womb, why should a parent be forced to “donate” her nutrients etc., while in the womb? Pregnancy is very demanding on a lot of the systems on the body (teeth for example). It’s a tremendously high ask for someone who doesn’t want to participate in it.
  6. Can the unwilling carrier of the fetus sue the state for surrogacy fees (standard fee + medical expenses)? Otherwise, gestating a fetus for almost 10 months is unpaid labor to effectuate the state’s interest in protecting said “life”.
  7. So playing this out, could a woman have the “live” fetus removed pre or post viability from her at some point (and not aborted), and then give it up as a ward of the state for the state to then take care of medically? Or would she be forced to continue incubating it to a viable fully birthed state. What rights does the host “owe” to the fetus. Why can’t they just go their separate ways and let the chips fall as they may?
  8. It’s not worth the effort expended to explain it to you, but a front knot is an easy way to create an “empire waist” silhouette, which emphasizes the waist, visually lengthens the look of the lower body due to a higher waist line and the front knot creates tension in the back vs the front which is often more flattering for the individual in question. It’s a trend that harkens back to the 70s and is based in actual style principles, not to emphasize a “playboy aesthetic”.
  9. He’s an attorney at TK… and scored the music for Dragon Ball Z? I know nothing about his legislative bona fides, but I’m sold
  10. Yeesh. Lorena Bobbitt may have been on to something
  11. Ah yes, Bt and Ana blaming … democratic women for this
  12. I haven’t read deeply into the text of the bill because I don’t feel like getting even more depressed at the state of the world, but who gets to determine what is considered a medical emergency or complication? Can someone still come after your doctor for it and then you use the medical carve out as a defense? If so, that will at least theoretically have a lovely chilling effect on life-saving medical procedures.
  13. So, how does resolving something like an ectopic pregnancy bear out under this new law?
  14. Used someone with the Moats Team as well. Would highly highly recommend.
  15. MP is a friend and is good people. Very moderate, although given the way all of the state Rs have been trending, I’d feel hesitant about aiding her ascent to higher power assuming she proceeds with the inevitable heel turn to the right.
  16. Well fuck. I have to go pick up some food in this shit. 78759 is not fucking around
  17. I suppose it’s more cost effective than buying a lifted truck to signal that you’re bad in bed
  18. What’s so great about being born? It’s like surviving the initial round of a zombie attack. A big goddamn hassle, things gradually just keep getting worse and then you die a painful death. if you’re never born, you never have to do taxes or meet a lawyer.
  19. If all men were forced to get vasectomies, abortions would drop overnight. Problem solved.
  20. The people who would require one life to incubate and be subject to another (against their will) for almost a year are largely the same people who can’t even manage to wear a piece of fabric over their faces without throwing a tantrum.
  21. I felt horrible but was still able to make it through a full day of work yesterday, and I was completely fine when I woke up this morning. If you can take off work, I would recommend it, but I had some closings to handle, so wasn’t really an option for me.
  22. Symptoms set in post 2nd shot almost exactly 12 hrs later. Horrible. Felt like I was hit by a car, but finally starting to feel better
  23. Just got my second Moderna an hour ago and my arm is somehow already even more sore than round one. I’m thinking this may be brutal.
