  1. It was reset when they went to 10, e.g. the current make up.
  2. No way, their stances on things are far too conservative for the Pac. I'd take Dallas over another Utah school in a moment, even if it doesn't pull the biggest audiences. It does put your LA teams in the central time zone in Texas.
  3. This is actually interesting too. Let's say the Big 12 doesn't die and the 8 stay together making less, grabbing like Cinci and someone closer to WVU. The CFP to 12 just said the top 6 conference champs, with the highest four rated getting the byes. Its possible the remaining 8 would have more chances in the playoff realm as well if they stay together. They'd just be the Pac, without USC.
  4. I can see the Pack giving TCU a rider on religion, but don't see it on Baylor. If KU/ISU get snagged, which is a bit of a stretch I think, does the Pac grab Tech/TCU/OSU/KSU? And if they don't grab KU/ISU, does the Pac grab them instead?
  5. If I'm ISU/WVU/OkSt I'm showing around those audience numbers that were posted 400 pages ago. None of them are worth Texas, but 65-80% is still an audience.
  6. I'm not sure he's right, but he's not wrong:
  7. I'd be shocked if the Big Ten doesn't invite KU if it all blows up. AAU, good academics, KC market, basketball blueblood, someone to give Nebraska an added win to prove they've still "got it", and all of their NCAA issues are going away with NIL. Who you got for 16 is the real question. Not sure they want to stay at 11, like they stayed at 15, if the feeding frenzy begins and they need to wait nearly a decade to pry loose ACC teams.
  8. They changed it from last time, where they had 4 or 6 listed of what is required to hold onto the Big 12 as a conference. https://static.big12sports.com/custompages/pdfs/handbook/bylaws.pdf Reading this again, the moment an intent to withdraw is submitted, all voting and revenue rights are negated. So the percent needed comes from the remaining, not those who left. Someone more legally feel free to read it up, but it seems like Baylor could keep the Big 12 to themselves, as long as they invited enough in to keep the conference going, and no one who left would get paid until after the current agreement ended. That being said, I'm pretty sure the media partners have inventory clauses too and likely wouldn't pay as much, just like how they played less when games weren't played last year.
  9. Actually, if I remember right from the last time this occurred, the conference needs 4 original members to retain its media deals. So TCU/Baylor/KSU/ISU could stay, rebuild, soak in the money of 6 team's penalties/GOR donations, and then have a much smaller deal in 2025.
  10. I can't keep up with the thread, likely the 83rd person to post this:
  11. If this goes through I would bet they would SEC a lot less
  12. This isn't a cultural conversation, its a battle ground designation. Doesn't matter if they can't form words, they're gabbing local recruiting territory, no other conference is doing that. This is a war declaration more than anything else
  13. That's how they move through life invisible to everyone
  14. I think the point Huck, I think, was making was the difference is those blue bloods have been together for a century. The Big 12 was merging blue bloods and having multiple alphas in a room who haven't figured out how to alpha together, was a cage match waiting to happen. In the end, Nebraska was kneecapped and didn't like it. Even if you consider Pedo and Nebby blue bloods, by the time they entered the Big Ten they were both neutered at entry and brought to knee by the Buckeyes. On the flip side, the SEC has never expanded with a school brand the likes of the Sooners, let alone Texas, there is bound to be some fireworks if it occurs, even if it doesn't happen for years. Additionally, this instability isn't like before. This is caused by a seismic shift occurring that is redefining what this sport will be. Texas and Oklahoma are already losing ground in recruiting to the powers that be around them who are well versed in not playing by the rules. Its easier to fightback inside that bubble than outside.
  15. I heard part of the deal was that all of the Sooners games have to be at 11.
  16. Thanks for this, I was looking for it but have been too busy. What stands out is how many games were played on T2 channels (e.g. not Fox/ABC/ESPN). FS1 is an anchor and just being on it will destroy averages. likely no surprise it corresponds to the audience numbers. Games on T2 Channels: Texas, Sooners - 0 OkSt - 1 WVU - 2 ISU - 3 Baylor, KState, TCU - 4 TTech, Kansas - 5 I figured the Cowboys would be third in total audience, but I'm a bit surprised in both how close they are to the Sooner's numbers and how well the Mountaineers and Cyclones do, especially with having 2-3 T2 games. Factoring that in, those are actually some remarkably healthy viewership numbers for the top half. TCU, Baylor and Kansas, on the other hand...
  17. And they play baseball and up the academic profile
  18. Key factors in Texas, Oklahoma to SEC situation al.com
  19. I know there is a long history of bad fan behavior, but they've worked hard to clean it up. I took the kids to Margontown for a (day) game. Not one ill word spoken. In fact, it was clear they were trying as many fans walked up to chat us up and ask if we needed help finding our seats. Had this too. Took my daughter to a game there and people went out of their way to include us. Yes, there was some teasing about who may win and being in enemy territory, but that was encapsulated within, "hey join our tailgate" or "thanks for coming to see us!" than ribbing. I didn't have a single negative experience.
  20. I think this is more likely than anyone is willing to admit. If this change happens, don't waste your time on pods or not pods because scheduling is like a cup holder on a race car. What is occurring is the opening salvo of what will likely take down conferences and create leagues.
