  1. [Mickey] What am I missing? What’s the big deal? [/Mantle] but seriously. I feel like an idiot but what am I missing? (Assuming he wasn’t in the sportsbook)
  2. Cant win 10 in a row to finish the season if you don’t win 3 first!
  3. Good all I see is Altuve HBP and replaced by a pinch runner and heart sinks .
  4. Watching on gametracker altuve ok? should have had grae bat in the first place
  5. Right. 3 innings is what you ask when you’re in August and have 4 starters on the IL and you’re piecing together a bullpen game to turn over the rotation. sadly he’s played himself in to the role of last pitcher you carry and bring in if you need a guy to eat innings in a lost game in the early part of a long series
  6. 52/52! he wants 60/60 He hit a season low in BA at .287 on Wednesday (after the first week of the season). 9 for 10 since and up to .297
  7. Can you imagine being a fan at that game? For 3.5 hrs and then see 10 minutes real time like that?
  8. I know you’re supposed to be happy at any win that gets you closer to clinching when your magic number is 5, but I’m still annoyed we had to use 3 leverage guys in a game we scored more runs than we have the previous 4 games combined.
  9. Cant win 10 in a row to finish the season if you don’t win 2 first!
  10. When has the back of the baseball card ever failed us! love the guy but I feel pretty comfortable this is not a Nolan Ryan situation where you risk letting the guy walk and he still has 5 (or even 2) good years left (JV is the same age now as Nolan was when McCullen let him walk…literally 3 weeks younger). His stuff may actually be comparable to Ryan’s at the end of his career. Unfortunately, the offense in the majors in the late 2020s is not the same as the early 90s.
  11. That was in Cincinnati. Labor Day. When we actually had a chance to win. (It was 2-2 and he left him with 2 outs in the 4th at over 90 pitches and then a bloop single scored two. Reliever comes in and allows that guy to score. 5-2. we lose 5-3. arizona was the Sunday night disaster where he started to melt down in the 3rd and that early in the game you might as well leave him in to see if he can get out of it and save the pen (he couldn’t).
  12. Angels are just doing their part keeping this close to keep me from flipping over to that highly anticipated Illinois/Nebraska grudge match
  13. Tuck trying for a poor man’s 6 for 6.
  14. This is the way… but it doesn’t quite work. He’d pitch game 1 of the Cleveland series and be on normal rest for game 2 of WC. But anyone considering him a realistic option as one of our top 3 starters for the WC round needs their head examined… although we’ve been saying that about Espada for ~5 months now. Instead what will happen is we have brown, Framber, kichuci for the Seattle series and give them all extra rest ahead of the WC round. They’ll flip the order and have Framber for game 1. Not sure if they’ll go brown, kikuchi or vice versa. i said it after his shitty start in Cincy: if you’re going to use JV at all, you do it game 1 of the LDS so you have 4 games to recover if it goes poorly. I haven’t mapped it out but we have an extra day off in the LDS as well again this year (between games 1 and 2) in additional to after games 2 and 4.
  15. (for the HR part.. we have 2 of those… but still 9 (!) singles in 4.1)
  16. Yordan will not be playing Sunday (if not tomorrow) can’t believe he missed two cement mixers on back to back pitches
  17. So that it could be a 1 run game? Need the offense to go back to work to save Abreu and Hader
  18. Dana: Mmm… brewer rejects (singleton)
  19. Altuve has had an interesting year being more vocal, both on and off the field on the field he’s shown more DGAF emotion/getting ejected than I can I remember the rest of his career combined. and now starting to make comments like this. I don’t think I’d mind him being more vocal ‘f the haters’ on the booing/cheating scandal although he’d be wise to just continue to let his play do the talking and then deal with all of that after he’s retired.
