I’m not really sure it’s my place to share this but I’m so excited for him, I can’t help it.
My cousin’s son (the same age as my son) was diagnosed with leukemia on Christmas Day a couple of years ago when he was 9.
Needless to say it’s been a helluva couple of years for their entire family but he’s hung in there like a champ. It’s been in remission for a while but he’s been in and out of the hospital with various complications after the last year.
To cut to the chase, his wish was always “to go to the World Series”.
They got the call a little over a week ago that they’d be going to games 3 and 4.
I can’t imagine the excitement they’re experiencing watching this.
As a surprise bonus, he apparently got to go on the field before the game and “practice” with the Dodgers. I’m not sure what that means and I don’t have any other details at the moment but would like to imagine he told Ohtani: “can you hit me a couple of homers tonight? …and a couple of doubles? One each to the pull side and one each to the opposite field?”
Busting with excitement for him
(but not at the fact he’ll likely be a life long dodgers fan after tonight : /
