  1. Is it crazy of me to play Lamar Jackson against Tampa today over Cam vs Saints? Cam has been been playing hurt and not running (or throwing) for many TD's lately... I think I'm gonna do it, but getting cold feet.
  2. Lots of good stuff mentioned already... here are a few more:
  3. I really don't like seeing a crowded or sold out show at Stubb's. Mohawk is a much better venue.
  4. TWHOOKEM

    Kacy and Clayton

I really like their last 2 albums! They almost never tour through Texas though...
  5. Coming up: 11/8 Billy Strings Antones 11/23 Charley Crockett Gruene Hall 12/12 Tyler Childers Gruene Hall 12/14 John Fullbright Heights Theater
  6. Saw Ryan Bingham & the Dead Horses back in the summer of 2008 in an ancient castle on top of a tiny hilltop village in Italian wine country. I think we were the only Americans there besides the band, and maybe the only people who knew who they were, but they crushed it and won over the crowd (as they usually did).
  7. Just got back last week from 1 night at the end of a road trip. Had a chill dinner at Tune-in Cafe near our Airbnb. Breakfast at Horseman's, wussed out on the level two Burrito this time, but it was still spicy as hell and delicious. Meow Wolf is legit, and very popular. We went at 10am and there was already a long line, but it was a great way to spend 3 hours. Left for Chaco after that and camped there for 2 nights. Star party/night photography lesson was really great, as was the entire place and experience. Make sure you hike up the canyon from Pueblo Bonito.
  8. The new Taco Casa I've eaten at in College Station is delicious for what it is. It's like a fresher, better tasting Taco Bueno...
  9. Yup, my show was on the small stage too, Rustlanders and another band opened. They played til like 2am on a Tuesday night and just killed it. The Dead Horses were magic. Agree about JD, although still hold out hope he’ll get the old crew together. Idk about Corby though.

  11. The Cardinals (Ryan Adams and the Cardinals)
  12. She really ripped it. New album doesn't have as many catchy tracks as some of her old stuff, but it really worked for her live show. It was my first time at the Mohawk, great venue.
  13. For anyone who wants to go see Courtney Barnett tonight, they’re still selling tickets for the show at Mohawk. Sucks for those who wanted it to be a tiny show at the Beer Hall it was promoted as, but good if you still wanna go.
  14. The Brushfire and the Matador. I think the Matador is just about perfect.
  15. I always have a great time at shows at Whitewater in New Braunfels. Perfect atmosphere for a country show. In Houston, I love going to shows at small venues like Mucky Duck and Anderson Fair. The Heights Theater gets great bands now and is perfect size (sister venue of the Kessler in Dallas). The coolest place I've seen a show in Houston has been the Orange Show by far...
  16. Marie Sharps Belizean Heat. Love it.
  17. oh.. dallas concert thread.. nevermind!
  18. I saw Billy Strings at Luck Reunion a few weeks ago, and then the next day at Scoot Inn doing a Jerry Garcia tribute and he was AWESOME. Considering driving out from Houston basically just to see him play again on Friday of OS.
  19. Saw Khruangbin last night in Houston - amazing show. 4/24 Parquet Courts Houston 4/28 - David Byrne w/ Perfume Genius in HOU ( if i can get some cheaper tix closer to the show) 5/14 Courtney Barnett at Saengerrunde Hall 6/4 Paul Simon Erwin Center 6/6 Justin Townes earle and Lydia Loveless (both solo) at Heights Theater
  20. The Beach Boys, Southern Star Amphitheater at Astroworld! I was probably about 10 years old.
