  1. MAGA kids need those accommodations too. Sadly it will never occur to their parents that their voting has made life more difficult for their children and their children's teachers.
  2. Yeah, remember when the people freaked out because they were doing trainings in Bastrop and Greg Abbott went to personal supervise? I remember.
  3. Wait, is that retweet supposed to be literal? Is he saying the pastor is in the wrong.
  4. I'm sure it does. Plus you can shit wherever you want, throw trash wherever you want, and take home any artifact you think would be a cool momento..
  5. This^^^^ Go to the gun thread of you want to talk about guns. I would be surprised to hear that Talarico has ever fired a gun. It's like talking about consensual sex in the Trump thread.
  6. I think the fact that a political argument has branched off into a shotgun proficiency flame war is exactly why we need James Talarico in office... and exactly why we probably won't get him in office (I say this as someone that just gave him a small part of my meager teacher salary). Also, that gun room tells me that any political decision you make has little to do with freedoms (like the 2nd A) and everything to do with hoarding wealth.
  7. I'm sure she dreads every time his crypt lid scrapes open knowing he'll be hovering over the bed hissing "coitus".
  8. Exactly. They've normalized releasing evidence as it's gathered on Twitter. If nothings being released, it's because they haven't figured out how to construct the narrative.
  9. The Seven Stages of Grift... I Mean Grief... I Mean Grift. 1. Shock/Disbelief - I don't know how we're going to keep the grift going? This grift doesn't work without ______. 2. Denial - We can keep it going. This is a good grift no matter who's in charge. 3. Anger - Goddammit! They took away our grift! 4. Bargaining - Let's split the grift. You get this much, I'll take that much. 5. Guilt - We could have done so much more grifting. Why didn't we grift more when we had the chance? 6. Depression - It really was a great grift. We'll never grift like that again. 7. Acceptance - Oh well, on to the next grift.
  10. He didn't really care about him THAT much until the liberals started criticizing his racism... errrr "celebrating his death".
  11. Any waiter who has worked a Sunday afternoon is all too familiar with "Christian's" behavior when they think it's someone else's job to clean up.
  12. I've seen more than a couple of them. I just saw a clip from one of those pastors sharing what this past week turned into after going viral. One of the things he mentioned was keeping the congregation safe. It made me realize (again) the load we (I) ask black people to carry.
  13. I hate that it once again falls on black people to tell it like it is. I hate that I'm too much of a coward to do the same. I hate that black people have to be brave for me, in part because (I'm assuming) their thoughts are, "What else are they going to do to us?".
  14. And why does DEI make him suspicious... specifically of black people? He's still saying that these people got their position because of some racial quota he made up in his head. If anything the first part of his comment is what's taken out of context, not the latter part.
  15. If that gimpy-eyed sack of shit can hang it straight, he can climb on my counter and hang it himself.
  16. I had this thought during COVID. Could you imagine the response to Hillary trying to enact any kind of response to COVID?
  17. At this point, I'm convinced that Trump and company have moved past seeing what they can get away with. They're no longer seeing what their base will allow them to do, and instead they're seeing what they can get MAGA to support. They're not exercising power over the libs, they're exercising power over MAGA. They're fucking with them more than anything. They're learning just how sheepish the sheep can be. Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz... there will be books written about their cowardice. I'll never again wonder how Hitler did it.
  18. It sounds like she's got a supportive congregation, or at least one that will give her some leeway. I'm sure she's well aware of that though. We should all be so lucky.
  19. Yeah, I teach 6th grade World Cultures. It's usually their first experience with 50 minutes a day dedicated strictly to social studies. I can't think of a better curriculum to foster a love of social studies. That was always my primary directive... don't make them hate social studies. This looks to kill that joy. But the test makers will make money.
  20. Something decent...
  21. Yeah, it's currently: "The benefits of Capitalism". I'm counting this as a lateral.
