  1. Got word mine is a rollover to 2023. Order bank opens Thursday to edit, waiting to see if there is anything interesting to consider. Really need to just cancel it, but I’ll probably ride it out.
  2. Sweet, severely herniated L4 and L5, 2 months of PT and then reassess. Recommended a nerve block, but I’m going to pass on it for now and just deal with the pain. Getting old sucks.
  3. Shit, I really want to jump back in to lower my cost basis further. However, based on my history this year with stocks I read about on the internet, there is a high likelihood that will immediately lead to it cratering again.

    Getting old sucks

Forgot about that bit of fun as it’s become an annual routine at this point. I have to take heart rate medicine to keep it under a set level or it will race to the point of being really bad. After finally seeing a legit cardiologist he figured out I had a defect that cut off blood supply to the widow maker as my heart rate increased which exacerbated the problem. Legit best thing I’ve ever done medically was getting a referral to a cardio rather than just taking what my PCP prescribed.

    Getting old sucks

Wife had one removed a couple years ago. It was the size of a quarter. It took a while to fully heal because it was basically an open wound that couldn’t be closed. We both get checked out by the dermatologist every year now as it will likely be a continual problem. On the subject of getting old, I used to make fun of my dad when I was younger and he slowed down or couldn’t keep up. Shit, I don’t know that I can keep up with what he was doing in his 50’s at this point at 44. One elbow surgery down, another in a couple of months, potential back surgery in the interim, knees and ankles that take way too long to get functioning, my youthful idiocy has kicked me in the ass the last 2-3 years.
  6. This thread is my daily reminder never to put anything in email. I am legitimately curious about the emails our buddy Johnny has. I have zero doubt some of them are damning based on what I’ve heard at the table of both industries over the years.
  7. If I’m spending $500, I would look at the CZ 612 and the Benelli Nova/Supernova and see which fits you better. The 612 is annually one of the top selling pumps out there because you get quite a but for your money. You could also potentially catch an A300 if you go a little past the $500 mark and keep an eye out or buy a used one.
  8. I’ve been in survivor pools for a long time including a couple that pay out $500k+ and I’ve never seen a weekend like this with so many big favorites losing. I think the biggest one I’m in is probably 80% out. Should have bought something a little more fun than a shitty two days of football with that stack of cash.

    NFL Week 1

That was an incredibly piss poor bunch of coaching there. Who plays for a 64 yard FG try? F-ing idiots.
  10. That was painful. Bought back into my big pools and rolled with Denver. That was an expensive f-ing weekend.
  11. This is the only one I’ve ever seen a tie not count as a loss. Eliminate and move on based on your post #1 in the thread. Doesn’t impact me because I lost straight up on a shitty kicker.
  12. Ties are a loss, ESPN doesn’t set their game up that way. Assume he will eliminate those with ties manually.
  13. Week 1 survivor pool blowups are awesome. If Pitt manages to hold which is unlikely based on their garbage QB, the big dollar pools are going to look a lot different.
  14. My wife has to use a massage gun on mine every night or I wouldn’t be able to move the next day. Went in for an MRI yesterday to see what’s going on with it. Messed it up wakeboarding late last fall and it has turned into a significant problem over the last few months. There is a knot/mass on the nerve and in the muscle that is part of the problem they are unsure about, so we’ll see what the MRI comes up with.
  15. Fixed it, apparently signed up from both ESPN logins I have.
  16. Most people can’t drive wake boats worth a crap, thrusters on the big ones make sense to dock/trailer. The concept of very little steering in reverse is hard for some people to deal with.
  17. Pretty popular in our area. I know of a number of people that built them and lived in them while main houses were being built and that still live in them or use them as cabins on a separate farm. I built a 60x40 shop on our farm and then we added a 30x40 apartment on to the side of it with a breezeway connecting it for my parents. We went off the side rather than finishing out the upper level of the shop mainly for ease of access and because the shop is full of tractors, boats, atv’s, etc so we didn’t think we could isolate the noise very well. Based on current build prices it was much more economical than building/buying them a house as we are under $90 a foot for it. It's pretty basic, but it serves their needs and if they decide they don’t like it the kids will have a place to crash at the farm. The same guy that built the shop did it, so everything matches from the outside.
  18. In, send me your Venmo. I think I have it, but want to check it.
  19. Make sure to use your rear tie downs on your trailers. Buddy slammed on the brakes on the interstate yesterday to keep from hitting someone in front of him and his new Supra didn’t stop with him. Ended up on the side of the interstate with the tell-tale broken front strap and not much left of it after it hit his truck and rolled.
  20. I think the majority of people fall in the middle, I would think more liberal socially and more conservative financially. All of that has been blown up in the last few years and we’ve handed the microphone to the crazies. I’m not sure how you reel it back in, but I’m going to align myself with the group that is trying to create a better country not tear it down. I should have added, having two girls changed my political views more than anything. I don’t feel good about what’s going to be left for them, so I if I have to pay more taxes, lose a few guns, etc to get there then so be it.
  21. I find this interesting every time you throw it out. To one of those 15 you are literally saying that your ability to have a specific type of gun (not even guns in general) is more important to you than the ability of her to live the same life you do. It’s kind of fascinating where your line is and that you don’t see that. I’m also not condemning you in any way. I (and a few others here I’m sure) were similar when I was younger, but the school shootings, the 2015/2016 election cycle, lots of other eye opening things made me realize that the greater good was more important than guns, taxes, etc. Mine didn’t matter if the country crumbled around me. There are plenty of D policies I don’t agree with including the way student loan forgiveness was handled, but the greater good outweighs everything individually and every f-Ing person in the US should have the same rights I do to marriage, seeing their significant other in the hospital, raising their kids in peace, etc
  22. I would be sitting and waiting right now or making lower reasonable offers, prices are going to check up with everything going on. Boat dealer I used for service on last two boats has 23 new boats sitting on the floor. I haven’t seen a new boat there in 2 years. Checked a few others regionally and it looks the same.
  23. Best bet right now is keeping any eye on the dealers that sell what you want and finding something that someone else backed out on when it came in. I’ve seen some really good deals on new boats (at least when compared to used) because people aren’t walking in to buy off the floor because everyone is ordering and waiting. It just hasn’t been anything I’m looking for. Financing is going to have changed a lot since people ordered 6/12/18/24 months ago, so it will be interesting to see what happens with inventory. Used boats have slowed quite a bit too in the markets I pay attention to. Some of that is time of year where I’m looking, but some has to be price related and market related. The toy market is going to be interesting with the Fed pushing rates a projected 2-3 more times this year. Edited to add: Checked the dealer I have used for the last few boats, they have 7 Scouts sitting on the floor right now. I haven’t seen one on the floor in 2 years. I’m not buying one, but it is a change.
  24. Books around Pine Avenue and you have decent restaurants and no public parking. Makes for a much better trip to AMI.
  25. Should be able pull the hard cover dividers on either side of the engine and it opens up the space to get around when the whole back area is opened up. I changed the starter on my first v drive without noticing those came out, life got much simpler after that.
