  1. Before we bought a house at the beach, we traveled this side of the country a lot. You go NE or West Coast and I’m not good for much, but anything south of the Mason Dixon line I’ve traveled extensively. I also have a lot with meetings for work and kid’s cheer, so we usually tack on a couple extra days wherever those may be which has added quite a bit. With kids, there is nothing wrong with a day or two in Gatlinburg / PF. I’m not going for a week, but we’ll take them for a weekend. There is plenty of hiking in the area, plenty of stuff that kids like to do, etc, it just is what it is. If the wife and I are going, it’s Asheville. If the kids are going, it’s PF.
  2. Savannah - we stayed along the port and it was interesting sitting there watching the boats come in and out. We ate at Mrs Wilkes and the Crab Shack on the way out to Tybee, both were good. Past that we walked the downtown area and the waterfront. Gatlinburg - it’s a tourist trap although you can stay in a cabin outside of town that will be nice enough. Main things to do would be hike the big trails, go to the aquarium, go to Dollywood or any number of kid places, etc. it’s fine for what it is, my kids enjoy going every now and then. You can stay at the convention center if you want the kids to have an indoor water park to keep them busy.
  3. The older Supra’s were one of the only manufacturers that actually followed the curve of the windshield lines with the tower supports. They kept everything tight together where Nautique (except on the 226) and Mastercraft used the more squared off base. Malibu was into the single supports by the mid 2000’s which started the trend of towers I’m not a fan of. I don’t think Nautique or Mastercraft did a playpen bow that far back either. Supra/Moomba used the rounded off passenger seat in the mid to late 2000’s also where most everyone else used the squared off seating. Lot of subtle differences between boat lines.
  4. The best boats for my money came from that era. Electronics had not taken over everything yet, the lines are super clean, the tower/windshield flowed in a clean arc, interiors were simple and clean, etc. I punch myself in the nuts every morning for selling my X-1 last year before the pricing madness took off. I was planning to buy an X-2 or VLX and everything just went stupid before I could get one bought.
  5. What kind of shape is the interior in? Any major issues?
  6. Supra, maybe late 2000’s early 2010’s would be my guess.
  7. Interesting. What kind of oats? Steel cut? Rolled? Rolled, you don’t want ones that have been processed. There are a bunch of varieties out there, but I use 1/2 cup oats, 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk, about a tsp of peanut butter, mix it, top with cinnamon, and refrigerate over night. Drizzle with honey and top with banana and blueberries and eat. I don’t like hot oatmeal but I pretty well eat this every day.
  8. No, you don’t cook the oats. They soften in the almond milk.
  9. The best breakfast food is a properly made biscuit. Put honey on it, put jelly on it, put sausage and eggs on it, put gravy on it, it doesn’t matter because it works with damn near everything. Doctor said i had to give up bread, so now I’m on an overnight oatmeal kick. Good oats, almond milk, cinnamon, and peanut butter in the fridge overnight topped with a little honey, blueberries, and a banana makes for a solid breakfast actually.
  10. The mutt is obsessed with pinecones lately. On his walks he will pick one up and carry it the whole way as proud as he can be of it. Tonight he found one he had stashed and was determined to get in the house with it. It’s about time for a bath and haircut.
  11. My daughters are teenagers and they control the music, that may very well have something to do with it. I’m not sure One Direction or Taylor Swift are going to attract the ride a longs. Music is one place we have failed them as parents. They just listen to shit.
  12. I clearly ride on the wrong lakes based on your experiences versus mine. Maybe it’s the kids that are always with me that throws them off though.
  13. I would probably be in if you’re doing a hundred, dynasties can be more time consuming than redrafts.
  14. Anyone want to shoot me a first rounder for a couple undrafted guys? I may even throw in Gleybar for the right one.
  15. The problem with Parsons is that you just had two stud LB’s go in the 2nd after the Cowboys picked to the Giants and Browns. Either could easily be the top LB in the draft and they were sitting right there for the taking with a second.
  16. I enjoyed making the drive once, fly back from KW though if you can. Also, it doesn’t matter what you drive, you’re only doing 40-45 the whole way so a Mustang or something similar works fine.
  17. Just would have been ridiculous to not end up with anything out of that game. Jacob Degrom has opened up this year nasty. 50 k’s through 4 games and 1 ER.
  18. Pulling up the scoreboard and seeing the Cubs have 11 runs through 6 and then checking the stats to see Contreras is 0-3 with 2 K’s is rather disappointing.
  19. Her car, her deal. I’ll just make her drive the road trips and I’ll sleep.
  20. Super cruise was not available when “we“ bought the new Cadillac last month. It is hung up with the chip shortages and they were not sure when it was going to be available. I told my wife to wait until it was out as it was the main reason I was fine getting one because we run a lot of highway miles. She came home with a new one anyways.
  21. Probably, but when she asked why I wasn’t having side effects, the response “Because I’m awesome” seemed better at the time. We’ve been married long enough that being in the dog house occasionally isn’t a bad thing. I was already there for being in the middle of her and the kids argument over stupid shit, so might as well double down. Her birthday is this week, and I bought her jewelry. I’ll be clear by the weekend.
  22. Ended up having zero side effects from the second shot while my wife has been curled up on the couch since yesterday. I’m sure that has earned me dog house status, but I’ll take it.
  23. Based on posts I have seen here and other places, a sense of sadness for where we are as a country still.
  24. Screw factoring, it’s about like using a payday loan place as an individual. I understand their is a need for it, but it better be your last ditch only option before you go that direction. It’s hard to extract yourself from it and you also have to have solid margins just to float the cost which then brings the question of why you need factoring in the first place. Sure, it’s to cover the 60-90+ day float from buyers, but is that worth the double digit percentage cost? We just took two large clients out of factoring deals and back to traditional banking arrangements and to say it was difficult to find a bank that wanted to get involved is an understatement. Their factoring arrangements were like Scarlet A’s on their chest even though both had rock solid financials at this point.
  25. 3 of my top 8 draft picks are on IL with 1 of the other 5 being Gleybar who sucks balls this year and would be better served on IL. Another DTD popped up today, I could really use a few more bench spots. This short bench makes it difficult to make adjustments.
