  1. Popular vote +5 is around the electoral college advantage the GQP holds, right? So about a toss up if election was today.
  2. You guys haven't seen enough faces of disappointed Indian mothers when report cards come home.
  3. Of all the things in this simulation, the most unbelievable is the Democratic Party suddenly is making all the right moves? WTF is this? Let's put this fascist fever in a coffin!
  4. More than any of Shapiro's positions, there's something about his personality that gives me the vibe that he believes he's the smartest guy in the room and I personally don't find that a good trait. He's polished enough that it doesn't come to light much, but under pressure and in stressful situations or when pressed by journalists, it comes out enough to spook me. He arguably ONLY an asset in PA and he can play that role effectively off the ticket. Let him do that and let him plan for a run at the presidency at some later point in a primary. He will play a big role in getting Harris elected but I don't think he should be her VP.
  5. I don't think Beshear is any sort of talented pol as a lot of his Democrat red state governorship credentials are thanks to his dad being a former popular governor of the state and associated name recognition. I find him the most "undistinguishable" of all the potential candidates but that's probably why he's the best running mate. Walz or Buttigieg, as many have said, are the choices if you are trying to get 350+ in the electoral vote. Either has far more juice and Walz has an incredible record of achievement as governor and Buttigieg combines being a policy wonk with the gift of communicating the value of it to the everyday lives of the middle and working class. Beshear is good looking, competent, and boring. I'm good with that. Walz and Buttigieg (and Shapiro in PA) are your bulldogs on the campaign.
  6. I guess you're not a toddler who just turned Indian.
  7. I'm not an actuary but I'm guessing the tables are favorable enough for a Trump death in office in his age 79-83 years to make this a very very high ceiling bet for Thiel/Vance. Especially now that they've secured the VP there is no plausible way to buy off their position. Their interest in this election is the upside of Vance being VP, but if the bet is foiled they will pivot and will live with a Harris presidency and strategize again for 4 years from now. Trump is just their so so dumb vehicle. This is dark but I think the only way this happens is if they try some mafia style shit like, "hey Vance, wouldn't it be a shame if something were to happen to your Indian wife and kids..."
  8. Vance can step down willingly. Spoiler: Vance is not going to quit
  9. I'm Indian and most everyone in my family and circle I know have always known Harris is half Indian ethnically and take pride in that, but also are of the view that she's always identified as a black woman. Her mother raised her specifically as a black woman as well despite being Indian as she thought that was the best thing to do for her future. There are articles about her upbringing that discuss that. It's insane to suggest she "turned Black".
  10. I doubt this video will get a lot of views on the socials since no one knows who she is (I'd never heard of her), but she was pretty emotional and angry under the calm delivery. It's powerful.
  11. As a card carrying member of team Walz, I'm coming around to the idea that Beshear is probably a better pick. Walz unencumbered of being on the ticket can likely be a more galvanizing force to the electorate as a surrogate. Beshear can effectively communicate Harris' message and doesn't need to have the juice Walz does as he's just supporting Harris. I'd be fine with Shapiro as well, but I think like Walz, maybe being unencumbered also helps Shapiro help the campaign because he's got juice similar to Walz and maybe it's just better to let both of them loose, no limitations. Beshear as VP and Walz and Shapiro as surrogates optimizes the value of all three of them.
  12. I love me some Senator Warnock. Is he going to have to stick to being Harris' surrogate in GA or can he be weaponized across the Sun Belt? He's a good aspirational messenger for her as a counterweight to the bulldogs Walz, Buttigieg, and Shapiro.
  13. "Also, mouth stuff is a sin" I'm dying here. Good production and messaging and a touch of dark humor.
  14. Little did I know, thinking "We Are Not Going Back" was the beginning of a movement, but no, it's "They're Weird". My apologies to Gov. Walz.
  15. This is one of the things I theorized in this thread while Biden was still in the race and why I still felt that he'd win. A lot of the poll results didn't add up and I thought that all the results couldn't be explained by non-response and small sampling. I thought there were some intentionally poorly designed polls skewing results for a specific GQP objective but didn't dig deep enough to try and find reporting or evidence of it.
  16. If Walz isn't going to be VP, he needs to be out there spreading this gospel that he created and has practiced and perfected. It immediately struck a chord with so many in this thread and the socials, and I imagine pretty damn effective reaching the voters that need to be reached if heard day in and day out for the next 3+ months. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/07/26/trump-vance-weird-00171470 Walz is one of the most important figures in this campaign after Harris, whatever role it ends up being. I'm damn glad he's on our side.
  17. I find it interesting that even this audience didn't erupt in hooting and hollering after he made both his references to ending elections in the country. Even this crowd acknowledges the crazy. All still voting for him, but to me if they can see the crazy, there's a lot of people just a bit less crazy that either will vote for someone else or stay home. He's really flying off the handle with this dictator stuff out in the open. Keep at it.
  18. I sure hope it's Walz. America is going to fucking love this guy. He's definitely the vibes VP. His complete exasperation with the GQP and his rural bona fides are going to resonate. He, more than any of the other VP candidates, seems to know what a phony Vance is and can articulate it effectively. Beyond that, what he's done governing Minnesota is incredible and that's a powerful message beyond the vibes. Walz will be America's First Uncle.
  19. I don't believe couches can consent so make that two rapists on the ticket.
  20. Well, I did it. Read 24 hours of posts in the last 90 minutes. Stupid work. Seemed like a light newsday other than the GQP continuing to hang itself as anticipated. One thing I'll chime in on is that there's is NO way Trump is going to be able to unchain himself from Vance. There are much more powerful people behind the scene that know they are one McD supersized combo from a Vance presidency if he gets elected. They know their platform, which effectively is let rich people do whatever the fuck they want and the hell with people and the planet, does not allow them to collect power via free elections. They've commandeered the Trump candidacy to achieve their objectives and no amount of ridicule heaped upon Trump for picking Vance will empower Trump to force a change. He's 100% stuck with him. Hammer his ass relentlessly for the next 100 days.
  21. Given the torrent like speed of the election cycle, it's hard to step back and take a broader look, but I was just exchanging texts with a friend and he reminded me that the Trump assassination attempt was only 10 days ago. You'd think a normal human would be affected in some way by such a profound event in their life. This guy is EXACTLY the same as he was before, if not even worse in rhetoric. This is not behavior of a normal human, +/- a million standard deviations. It's difficult to fathom how horrible of a person he is and the English language (or my vocabulary) is insufficient to the task.
  22. Is there some twitter account that posts all of Pete's Fox News appearances? I'd like to bookmark that now if so. That's going to be some must watch takedowns.
  23. Oh fuck not this again. There goes my productivity for the next one hundred something days.
  24. That's probably because Fox News is telling him she likes to give blowjobs.
