  1. Agreed. So the solution is to not call out friends and family who support the guy who’s personal responsible for the dehumanization and implicated in the deaths of shootings of minorities of all stripes? I’m incredibly non-confrontational as a personality but I have started to speak up to people I love. Including one uncle who has over 30 years of very close relationships with the Bush family, invites to family weddings, etc. Their continuing support for Trump is simply disqualifying and dangerous for America. I’ve told them as much. I will say that there are some people that listen, some that ignore me and still others that may not say it to my face, but effectively have told me to fuck off because I spoke up. This is above family and personal friendships to me at this point. I hope for a day this will be gone and I can regain some of the people in my lives I’ve lost. I made a trip through the former Yugoslavia several years back and talked to a lot of locals who all said the war was just so fucking stupid with absolutely no reason for any of it. Just the people suffering for the maniacal egos of power hungry morons. I never thought I’d see my country heading to the precipice of the same. This hate is pointless, and it’s coming from one party. We have to talk about it with our close ones, and forcefully. My belief is that even if I lose people in my life, they have also lost me. There has to be a personal price to their support for Trump and if losing me is it, fine. It makes me want to cry.
  2. Mormons are the only faction of the GQP coalition who are openly out on Trumpism and consistently vote so. It's the only place in the country that Romney can voice that much opposition to Trump, vote for impeachment, etc without risking being primaried. I imagine they do like Cheney but polls there have no bearing on GQP polls in any of the other 49 states.
  3. Ok, so this is DEFINITELY going to happen again somewhere in the country, and likely soon.
  4. The cabinet could have 25th amendment'd the motherfucker and rid themselves of the headache forever. The elements of the GQP that may want to backchannel Trump's demise are the "fringe" of the party. They hold no real ability to do anything to affect his stranglehold on the party. It's up to the voters to continually deny him and his minions the offices they run for since the government apparatus is built to conspire for the GQP and Trump has rendered any internal revolution impotent. He will be powerful culturally and politically until he dies which is hopefully soon. How much McDonald's beef can one consume before you succumb to it?
  5. If this cunt doesn't go to jail I'd bet she'll be on the fast track to being the next Boobert. Moore County looks to be split between two solidly MAGA-ish districts. She's white, ex-military, marginally attractive, and has instantly won over the primary base and has name recognition with crazy.
  6. The GOP is starting to win over the undereducated poor Hispanics and other minorities in significant numbers now so they might have a way to thread this needle and at least modestly push back on outward racism? It'll still be pretend to make sure the racists still come to the polls but they have to consolidate those gains in some way. But these poor Hispanics might just be as racist as their fellow poor undereducated whites and could be why they are attracted to the Trumpified GOP (as well as unconscious attraction to fascist style leadership). If that's the case, the lesson they take is racism works.
  7. How much of his own money did he piss away? Haven't seen the composition of the $44bn or maybe I haven't looked hard enough. The Twitter name still has some residual value, like Circuit City.
  8. I failed to specify that I was talking about the GQP primary. The general is different because 90% of the vote is pre-determined. The GQP woman also has to be favorably viewed unlike Clinton.
  9. They'll have to coalesce around one before primary season begins. I have my doubts about that. Right now they think it's DeSantis but he's 44 and I think he's not going to run because his odds of winning the general election are low. But if it's not him all the roaches, many of whom have already been humiliated by Trump, will announce. Cruz, Christie, Cotton, Scott, Pence, etc. All the guys who have no chance. I think their best bet will be a woman, someone who is respected by the GQP as well as could appeal to the archetype that voted for Youngkin. Maybe Haley. It will be harder for the sledgehammer type approach he takes to these other slimy old white men to be as well received on a woman. Will be interesting to see if one wants to take on the shithead.
  10. If Pence goes at Trump, his strategy will be the Katie Hobbs playbook. There will be no debate and we will barely see him.
  11. Impressive showing for Qari's Election Result Protest yesterday
  12. DeSantis is an asshole, but I don't think he's stupid. He's well positioned to be elected President at some point, but I think his chances in 2024 are basically zero and if he shoots his shot in this cycle he's probably done on the national stage. I think he will absolutely beat Trump in a primary but the question is what will happen afterwards. Trump is going to tell MAGA to stay home and they will. DeSantis will get crushed in the general election. He needs to wait until Trump is no longer a MAGA turnout machine. That time will come but not yet. I suspect Trump will get legitimately primaried, but it'll be by an old like Rick Scott or a last chance hail-mary like Mike Pence.
  13. I don't believe for a second any of these GQP concession tweets have a single iota of sincerity. A thin veneer of lies because they are hoping that they can attract just enough of independent voters next time after the party throws Trump election stealing narrative overboard. Fuck all of them.
  14. I only knew about it because there was some hairbrained GQP scheme to make Trump the speaker with plans to ascend him to the presidency after Biden impeachment and then who knows what with the VEEP.
  15. The reverse could also be a factor. Pro-choice Republics (probably a lot of suburban white women in these districts) feeling its safe to vote GQP as they don't feel abortion rights in their state are at risk and are not yet sufficiently scared that these fucks are coming for it federally at some point.
  16. I'm leaning to hoping for a Republican House with less than 5 seat advantage. The House Freedom Caucus is foaming at the mouth to exert it's influence and you'll have the election denialists and conspiracy theorists microphone's amplified for all to see. 25 mini-Trumpkin House members competing to out-stupid each other. If meaningful federal voting rights legislation can be passed it's worth dealing with whatever blowback the party receives elsewhere for doing "nothing" with full control of the legislative branch. If on the other hand they prioritize enshrining abortion rights and the economy slips further 2024 could give Trump the platform to win. If Democrats somehow retain the House, fix voting rights first and tackle abortion rights later, not the other way around, even though the electorate is saying abortion is far more important.
  17. What meaningful legislation can be passed with a slim D majority in the House and a castrated emperor Manchin? Can we pass federal voting rights? Or would it be better politically long term to lose the House and let the Rs conduct shitshow investigations that put in full view for the middle how out of touch these fucks are with reality and maybe even gift us Biden impeachment hearings?
  18. I'm not sure if I'm buying all the media guys take that we are a championship contender. We are deep at every position but don't have one guy that's better than a 50/50 shot to make a career in the NBA (collectively a couple guys probably will). I think you need at least one of those types to legitimately be one. I'd take a 3/4 seed and Sweet 16 appearance this year. I think Beard really gets cooking with gas next season. This looks to me to be a transition year that I'm not as rosy on as the media. I think the only way we exceed that level is if Carr is better than advertised.
  19. How is it that despite the never ending reservoir of attractive late teens early 20s girls that the women in their late 30s and on are mostly untouchable in the state? Seems like their MILF ratio should be much better than it is. Is it just meth?
  20. Madison is a fun trip, but State College sucks balls.
  21. Administering Baylor the death penalty the NCAA never did is almost sweeter than aggy misery. Knowing the next 50 years of their shiny new football stadium is pretty much Rice Stadium circa today is beautiful.
  22. CBB is more coach dependent than anything else, so while the B12 has been overall stronger than the Southeastern lately, that will ebb and flow. Just the act of Barnes moving from the B12 to the Southeastern changed the relative strength of each a good amount. The Southeastern has some good coaches right now that may be around for some time. We have the best of the bunch and will fuck up the league for the next decade or so.
  23. The relative safety of aggy's rectum.
  24. We would dominate even if we went to the ACC.
  25. Wow, how can Tech rank 50+ places below Ole Miss and actually worse than Miss St? That's bad.
