I know no one on this board ever wants to be reasonable, especially after a loss. But it was a pretty good season. Tennessee is clearly the more talented team and we still almost stole one.
We do need to get to work in the portal though, because I think our problems are much more about roster construction than anything in-game. This wasn’t actually a sweet 16 caliber team. There’s a reason we had to muck up games to have a chance.
Horton and Onyema were last minute replacements after we had two blue chip recruits bail out of their letter of intents. It was a unique emergency situation. We should not take those caliber of players again.
Today's margins were a little worse than yesterday's, but 3 of the #1 seeds played today, so that's to be expected. Think we had 5 single digit margin games yesterday, we've had 3 so far today with a potential 4th. Also, it should be pointed out that FAU/Northwestern went to OT before it ended up a double digit margin.
Yeah, I don't think they were all that great at developing players, which is why the money was the only point. And why it now serves no purpose with NIL being as big as it is.
The Ignite really were only created to give kids an option to make money without having to leave the country. NIL has rendered it pointless, closing it down is the right call.
Yeah, most people thought he was flipping to Arkansas when he first asked out of his letter of intent here.
This dude has one of the worst offensive games I’ve ever seen from a power conference guard.
Cal stinks, so a player can transfer there and get a green light they wouldn’t get at almost any other power conference school. Jaylon Tyson ended up at Cal and actually flourished there because of this.
But Askew does almost nothing well offensively, an extra green light doesn’t matter for him.
No, as I said, I’m just guessing. They haven’t said publicly they’re a package deal. But if the two OL continue to rise, there will be more schools willing to take all 3, it won’t just be Tech.
The Coleman twins are actually the Coleman triplets. The 3rd brother is a DL who isn’t quite as big and won’t be as highly ranked as the other two. I’m guessing the biggest school willing to take all 3 is the one who lands them.
Sand aggy has already offered all 3.
Wasn’t there talk recently of a kid who tried to commit and the staff told him to slow down?
Could easily see that being Rink, and now he’s a little butthurt about being rebuffed.
Everyone would’ve taken Wheaton or Johnson, but Brooks had his fair share of defenders on the board at the time too, especially once he got deep into his senior year. He had amazing tape, some just couldn’t get over that it was in 3A.
But I do think even the Brooks defenders wanted him to be part of a two back class.
Hallettsville is actually 3A.
I remember all the gnashing of teeth by certain people on this board about why were we taking such a small-school kid and missing out on Camar Wheaton and LJ Johnson.
Seems dumb. I feel like the coaches who actually make conference championship games are going to complain about this as soon as they actually have to do both.
