It didn’t take much strong arming, no team was genuinely interested in Bronny as a prospect anyway.
Another team taking him just would’ve been a ploy to try to get Lebron, but if Bronny’s camp is saying don’t draft him, that’s Lebron telling you that ploy wouldn’t work.
DB recruiting is more annoying to me right now than DL recruiting. At least Baker just got here, what’s Gideon’s and Joseph’s excuse? We’re already talking about flipping 3-stars from SMU.
What happened? I’m still trying to figure out what it is.
Maybe this recruiting class is just developing too slow, too many long periods where nothing is happening? Maybe the nature of 9.95ers have changed and they aren’t hyping recruiting enough? Did the transfer portal take all the juice out of HS recruiting? Or maybe the football team is just finally good so all of our hopes and attention are invested in the present instead of a couple of years in the future.
Fred Hoiberg has made one sweet 16 in his career. He’s been at Nebraska for 5 years, this year was his first making the tourney, and he got stomped in the first round by a mediocre aggy team.
I said that was the biggest head scratcher at the time, and it’s even more so now.
Carlton and Oldacre are going to need to be bigger contributors right away than I think was initially planned.
I always felt like all 3 would for sure go to the same school, but the 3rd brother, Isaiah, has some smaller offers, so I wasn’t sure if he was willing to be a walk-on or not. I’m glad that he is.
No he doesn’t? Don’t know what stats you’re looking at but Sorrell and Chaisson have the same exact number of career sacks right now and Sorrell has played in more games than Chaisson did.
Also, Sorrell is a good college football player, which is what this conversation was originally about. You can say that Chaisson didn’t live up to his immense hype, I’d agree with that. But he was still a good college player.
He only played two seasons. He tore his ACL in the season opener and redshirted one of those years.
And NFL stuff doesn’t matter when talking about how good of a college player someone was.
The reason why people had to use terms like “underrated gems” is because he wasn’t landing the top guys. So yeah, people were maybe polishing turds, but there was still an acknowledgement that he wasn’t landing the top guys.
I think Bo Davis was a really good coach here and he helped turn around the culture. But recruiting hasn’t been a strength for a while for him, and people here came to grips with that before he left.
CTJ has been saying forever that Garrison’s price was going to be absurd, so him to Kentucky isn’t that shocking. But we desperately need a big.
The reporting around this team has been pretty wonky, we’ve had two transfer commits seemingly come out of nowhere, better hope that’s the case again.
