  1. Bates’ stock has fallen off a cliff, he is not the #1 transfer. But Antoine Davis might be and he also just entered the portal.
  2. If you just want to get rid of the coaching staff, I get it. But I don’t want to watch anymore 5-7 seasons, so Im always going to opt for improving the roster over not improving the roster.
  3. As opposed to the 5 wins we had last year? Yes. And we won 10 games in Anderson’s lone year here anyway, not 8. So not only is the point you’re trying to make stupid, you’re also factually wrong about said point.
  4. I just said Mathis was a shithead, you grouchy fuck, but we currently have a good player on Texas from DeSoto. Im more familiar with Mathis’ fuckery than most on this board, I shit on him all the time on the HSFB boards. But I’m not interested in just quitting and ceding major schools to opponents, whether that be Desoto, Allen, Katy, or anywhere else we’ve had issues in the past.
  5. Miller is the only NFL star, but Desoto has produced plenty of good college players. Laviska Shenault, James Proche, the Orr brothers, Tatum Bell, etc etc. And one of our more promising DL on the current roster, Byron Murphy, is from Desoto too. Mathis is a shithead, but it’d be stupid to ignore Desoto.
  6. Hicks has been considered an aggy lean for a while now, and before Neto last year, our luck with Allen kids wasn't any better than it was with Katy kids. So I don't think it matters much, we weren't in the running either way. If OU is running second though, you'd think they'd be able to use the aggy 22 DL class against them. There's only so much playing time available.
  7. Knighton had already turned pro by then, so no. But it does count as the under-18 record. In fact, it’s also the under-20 record. That kid is amazing. He’s like 50-60 pounds lighter than Harbor though. So he’s just a little less of a physical anomaly.
  8. This kid can play, 1st team all conference and conference tournament MVP as a freshman. Got even better in year 2. That’s quite a list for someone who just entered the portal today, everyone wasted no time.
  9. BeastTexas is correct, it’s the 4th fastest HS indoor time of all time. (That’s on me, I should’ve specified). Indoors has a shorter straight away and tighter turns, so it’s a harder race for the 200m and the time’s aren’t the same. I think the fastest HS indoor time is 20.62. And also as beast pointed out, Harbor did it without a starting block, which is a disadvantage. He can run even faster.
  10. 20.79 is the 4th best high school 200m of all time and he’s 6-5 225 pounds, so yes, literally.
  11. He ran a freaking 20.79 200m earlier this year. The composite doesn’t even have him in the top 15, which seems absurd. He’s the best athlete in this class by a mile. His athleticism at his size is literally unprecedented.
  12. Rick Barnes was really good here until 08, no one is denying that. But it was 7 years of mediocrity by the time he left, which is almost as long as he was good here, and yes, I think Shaka being worse made people forget that.
  13. Rick’s legacy here really got a boost from the fact that Shaka was somehow even worse in the tournament. Some got nostalgic for Rick’s second round exits because Shaka could never even get out of the first.
  14. Well, if it’s any consolation to them, nobody was beating Duncanville anyway.
  15. McKinney beat Richardson earlier in the playoffs in another thriller, and Richardson was probably better than Westlake. Richardson was the only team to beat Duncanville this year, and was ranked the #1 team in the state before they lost to McKinney. Westlake is really good, but plenty of people saw McKinney winning this one, because of what they’ve shown earlier in the playoffs. Edit: Also McKinney was a top 10 team too, with one of the best players in the country, it’s not like they came out of nowhere.
  16. Crazy finish to regulation, and to 2OT, but that can’t be one of the biggest state tourney upsets ever. It’s not even McKinney’s biggest upset this postseason.
  17. Duncanville vs McKinney in the 6A title game tomorrow. A ton of top ‘23 guys in that game including the top two guys in the state #1 ranked Ron Holland for Duncanville and #2 Jakobe Walter for Mckinney. Duncanville was down 30-10 in the second quarter of the semis against Atascocita and won 50-36. Finished the game on a 40-6 run and gave up just 4 points the entire second half.
  18. A top in-state kid who had an offer.
  19. Pretty much all of the Alabama State kids went there specifically to play for Mo Williams and he just left to take the Jackson State job. Alabama State’s entire team is in the portal.
  20. That whole thing was so silly. I get kids don’t know any better, but an adult in his and the other Garland kids life should’ve advised them to not to base their decision so much on a position coach, especially one with so much obvious upward mobility potential. It happened a little quicker than most thought, but there was always zero chance Samples stayed at TCU longer than a year or two.
