  1. Moody is a spare. We just had a group of LB/Edge guys come in last year and not do shit, one of whom was also from Bama. This feels a lot more like that than anything else.
  2. That would just be an astonishing level of stupidity.
  3. Congratulations? Everyone already knew that, the staff are the only ones who put any energy into him, that’s why I said tell them. It doesn’t hurt, I agree, but it was still a waste of time. I’m more aggravated about how they didn’t even get a visit from Neyor. WR is the most abundant position in the portal, I did not think we would go into the spring without an addition there.
  4. Tell that to the staff. That visit was a waste of time
  5. He showed no promise at all. No pocket awareness, inaccurate, and routinely rattled. The staff desperately wanted him to be the starter and he couldn’t keep it against Casey Thompson’s noodle arm. If he plays for us next year, we’re fucked. He can go discover his ceiling at Incarnate Word
  6. Was mentioned by Roach at one point I think (I know that isn’t worth much).
  7. I can’t find a single good thing to say about Harris, but it does feel like he gets used as a scapegoat for the rest of the staff. I don’t know what any of these guys are doing with the portal at the moment.
  8. So, you’re okay with saying other players suck, just not Jett Bush, that sounds like a personal problem, the rest of us don’t have to follow your inconsistent guidelines. And if the entire DL is underperforming, that could easily speak to a scheme issue. It’s not like these defensive coaches have covered themselves in glory, there’s no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt over the players, and it’s not an either/or situation. You can doubt both groups.
  9. Well if he did get paid, the next top WR will probably get paid too. Good players get paid, everyone knows the deal, that can’t be an excuse forever.
  10. For future reference, this staff feeling “confident” means absolutely jack shit.
  11. I legit will not binge hour long dramas for this reason. Two episodes max in a sitting. More serious shows usually need more time to breathe. When you watch a show also changes the game. With Breaking Bad, that show was all about Walters descent into madness and the viewer realizing they shouldn’t be rooting for him anymore. It worked in real time, because viewers could still hold out hope for redemption pretty deep into the show, but if you watched the show much later, you probably already heard/knew Walter was going to descend into irredeemability from the get go. Which means you probably didn’t root for him that much from the get go either. With no rooting interest and no hope for redemption, I can see how that show can become just miserable people doing miserable shit every episode.
  12. I loved Breaking Bad, but if I’m recalling correctly, I think the first season got caught up in the writers strike, and as a result, it’s shorter and not that great. I was all in by season 2 though.
  13. Season 2 was good, season 5 was the weakest. It’s still better than Deadwood though. The journalist subplot was the worst of the series, it’s the only part of the show I dislike rewatching. I rewatched both The Wire and the Sopranos back when the pandemic first started. Both are all time greats, but I thought the Wire aged A LOT better. The right answer is the Wire
  14. 100% People went to see that movie because the technology was groundbreaking at the time and it was a fun experience at an IMAX or wherever. No one cared about the plot, which was basic as hell, it was all just pretty visuals. I can’t imagine the sequels will be nearly as successful without another technological breakthrough.
  15. I think he actually started at DB for Mizzou in their bowl game. He definitely played on defense because I saw him get hurt on a defensive play and thought to myself there's no way that is the same Shawn Robinson. Had to google to confirm that it was.
  16. 3 of the top 5 ( Robinson, Williams, and Rambo) had absolute monster years for their new teams. And Nacua had a good year too. WR might be the easiest position to get out of the portal. Too small of a sample size to read much into, they just offered a WR from Wyoming. And Sark kept Dunn after he got the job.
  17. 247 posting 40 times on their site is one of the worst things that happened to this board. So many people have absolutely no context on what a good 40 time actually is at the high school or collegiate level. Ohio State is a healthy program, the overwhelming majority of young guys don’t just come in there and play right away, even if they are good. There are really good upperclassmen there too. Calling a second year player, at Ohio State of all places, a career backup is stupid. Stop doubling and tripling down on stupid.
  18. Having Maalik that low because he is a project not ready to play yet, and then turning around and having Burke rated that high is not logically consistent. I hope Burke ends up being great, but I've learned to stop listening to Texas media and fans when it comes to Westlake and LT kids.
  19. Those Texas Western throwback unis are sharp, one of the best in all of cfb.
  20. Westlake has finally pulled away and put this one to an end, but they played with their food for far too long. Both North Shore and Duncanville are way waaaay better than Guyer. So the whole talk of Westlake beating anybody by 5 tds should be put to rest.
  21. Those were the cursed years. JaQuinden blew out his knee in the semifinals his senior season, and they lost on a last play Hail Mary his junior year. No curse this year though, they just lost. Might be true, but North Shore is a much more deserving second champ, they would beat the brakes off of Katy. NS is the only team to give Westlake a game the last two years.
  22. Feel bad for Samples, but North Shore was the better team.
  23. Some old school hard nosed ball going on in that first half. The defenses beat the hell out of the offenses.
  24. So damn happy for SOC and for DISD as a whole.
