The kid was definitely doing way too much, he went so overboard trying to hide his intentions and it’s just not that important. If he needs this much attention now, I can easily see him publicly wavering on his commitment for more attention in the near future.
Ratings are never going to be the same as 30 years ago, the way we consume media has changed way too much. 30 years ago there was no streaming and the games were all on network television. Everything is split up now, but the overall money is obviously way bigger than in 1992 (and yes that’s obviously adjusted for inflation and all of that).
I don’t like this proposed new transfer rule either, but people have been saying the same alarmist bullshit you’re saying for decades now. It never actually happens.
What is this opinion based on? Ratings took a dip during the pandemic (like everything else not named the NFL did) but rebounded right back to pre-pandemic levels this past year. The best college basketball players were gone after a year anyways, this rule will affect them the least.
G-League Ignite and Overtime Elite players are getting paid a lot for minor league basketball. The absolute best will always get paid.
The kid is definitely doing too much.
I don’t want to lose the plot of the day, a player much better than Kirkland is committing in less than two hours.
If he’s talking about just him, then these are the players Gerry has predictions to Texas on:
Jalen Hale
Hunter Osborne (likely outdated)
Malik Muhammad (committing tonight)
Braylan Shelby
Derion Gullete
Cedric Baxter Jr.
Mikal Harrison-Pilot
Jordan Matthews
Colton Vasek
So someone other than these guys is about to commit soon
Yeah, his decrease got split into two different adjustments for some reason. I know it doesn’t actually matter much, but it still annoys me for whatever reason.
Overall, On3’s update did fuck us over though. Derek Williams lost his 5th star in the composite and Cook just barely held on to his, he’s the lowest ranked 5-star there is now.
Not that anyone here didn’t already know, but BOMC is such laughable aggy confirmation bias, any evidence that refutes it just gets ignored.
That 73 is his on3 consensus ranking (their equivalent of the 247 composite) not his previous on3 ranking.
His previous on3 ranking was actually 138, they’ve always been lower on him than the other sites.
I like Gerry, but like most 9.95ers, he thinks 98% of all lineman prospects are IOL.
Some of these dudes are going to be tackles and be pretty good too.
My suggestion is to just stop trying to decipher teenagers on social media. Even if you became an expert on the mechanics of Twitter, you still wouldn’t understand 17 year olds.
