  1. Banks, Hutson, Robertson are committed Campbell, Williams, Agbo, we currently lead for. And we’d still take one of Dewberry or Greene if they wanted to come. But at this point they are just luxury takes. What a crazy turnaround.
  2. That would explain why they were scheduled to play Bishop Sycamore this year before that scam was uncovered. That’s a damn shame, the only in-state team that played them this year in non-district was SOC. And that’s Samples’ alma mater. Would be a trip if they both won state.
  3. Of course, but that’s not what I mean. I’m not talking about general advances in football. Evangel Christian wasn’t recruiting nationally like these powerhouse schools do now. Evangel Christian wasn’t ran like a big time college team. Texas football isn’t declining, there are just a few crazy outliers that exist now, and Mater Dei is one of them.
  4. Duncanville does this every year now, they got beat down by IMG last year I believe. I don’t see the benefit in playing nationally recruited all star teams like that, but I guess they turn out fine come playoff time. Feels like they’re trying to mimic the basketball team that beats national powerhouses on the regular, but football does not work like basketball. What Evangel Christian is/was isn’t close to comparable to what Mater Dei is right now. Not even close.
  5. Duncanville is so much better at the line of scrimmage. They’ve got the better athletes and they’ve played smarter. A lot of stupid penalties on SLC tonight. Even I’m surprised it was this easy. But I knew SLC barely beat Duncanville last year with the #1 recruit in the nation at QB. And Duncanville is at least as good as they were a year ago. So a SLC blowout win never made sense to me.
  6. Omari Abor gets a strip sack and returns it for a TD. Duncanville up early 7-0z
  7. Katy barely squeaked by Summer Creek last week, that was a bad sign. As crazy as it sounds, struggling against almost any other team in the state, probably means you can’t compete with Westlake.
  8. Maybe someone in the D1 bracket could have at least been competitive with Westlake. Nobody in the D2 bracket can come close.
  9. They haven’t won state since 07, somebody literally stops them every other year.
  10. We start winning some games and recruitments like this will be a lot easier. So many of these kids grow up rooting for and wanting Texas to win.
  11. This, I don’t understand. I don’t mind taking a flyer on Red at RB, but I would have rather taken a flyer on Everhart first.
  12. Could be. He went to Grand Prairie, a historically shitty program. But to be fair, those measurable you’re quoting are from 2+ years ago.
  13. Thanks for stopping by, feel free to leave now. He was a WR before his senior year. They moved him to QB because he was by far the best athlete on the team and that’s what happens in HSFB all the time. It’s the quickest way to get the ball to your best playmaker.
  14. Yep and SOC beat Frisco earlier in the playoffs 35-24. Liberty Hill is better than Frisco obviously, but at least SOC has some experience with a similarly unconventional offense.
  15. I had a buddy say he ran into Adimora after a game early in the season, and he said Adimora was pretty open about his frustration about lack of playing time. He was venting to strangers, he’s been ready to go for a while. Even with that said though, he never dogged it the way BJ did.
  16. Taking a contingency takes a roster spot away from portal transfers.
  17. Don’t feel great about this offer. Hard to see it as anything other than us striking out at WR.
  18. Most people here don’t follow HS football any. Winfield actually had a really good senior season.
  19. 🤷‍♂️ Early NSD was a mistake. There have been a ton of unintended consequences that probably should have been predicted beforehand.
  20. Clowney was a great college football player. He was a freshman all-American his first year. His second year he was a unanimous first team all-American and finished 6th in the Heisman voting, which is hard as hell to do as a defensive lineman. After that, he admittedly started looking towards the NFL, but he was still 1st team all-SEC in what was his “disappointing” year. You are letting these guys’ failures in the NFL color how you remember them in college.
  21. If he isn’t a lock anywhere yet, how can he expect kids to follow him? It’s a week from signing day.
  22. I'm not entirely against taking a flyer on Red, but I am entirely against taking a flyer on him before this Ewers stuff plays out. If QE commits, he might be able to lure a few guys with him. Don't waste a spot on Red before seeing what happens with that.
  23. Nobody has said otherwise on this. Ideally you’d want him to commit before the visit or during it. I’ll gladly take whatever we can get, but that’s what would be ideal.
