  1. They said a stat during the broadcast that I could hardly believe. North Crowley only punted 7 times all season. 16 games, 7 punts.
  2. Coaching staff was willing to let Jatavion Sanders choose, but I think the consensus on him coming out of high school was that he’d be more valuable at DE/Edge. Obviously worked out well for us and him at TE.
  3. Late bloomer, almost everyone missed. Yep, going into his senior year his only FBS offer was Army. He blew up after the DeSoto game earlier this year.
  4. North Shore looked a lot weaker in the trenches than usual. Which is weird, because they’ve still got a couple of D1 guys there, but Westlake beat them up on the lines. North Crowley coaching is waaay better than North Shore also. North Shore’s offense is so unimaginative.
  5. North Crowley beat DeSoto, beat Duncanville, and just crushed Westlake. Best team in the state and I think Duncanville were probably the only ones who were anywhere close.
  6. Final: North Crowley 50 Austin Westlake 21 Congrats to the 817!
  7. Quentin Gibson is so damn impressive.
  8. Had 5 tackles against us today.
  9. Damn near that entire Westlake drive was just penalty yardage.
  10. This has a chance to be the most wrong you’ve ever been.
  11. Gibson is just ridiculous.
  12. Or the DFW sweep happens and SOC lost yesterday. Been a rough two days so far.
  13. Yeah, the 2A games were good, but that was it before tonight.
  14. That’s too tough of a spot to put a HS kicker in.
  15. Kudos to these two teams for finally giving us a great game.
  16. Not the best championship week so far.
  17. I don’t know why, but this transfer thread is so much worse than the ‘25 recruiting thread was.
  18. Maybe I’m misremembering things, but feels like 6-man state championship games are overwhelmingly non-competitive.
  19. It absolutely is not. Yep, been around since the late 90s.
  20. I think North Shore just lost. It’s not because they “underestimated” Westlake or anything, they just got their asses beat in the trenches. Westlake can do that to teams, because they are a powerhouse program. I get that it’s fun to position yourselves as the underdog, but Duncanville and North Shore are the only two programs in the state that Westlake were/would be legit underdogs to. You got the rare chance to be David last week, but now it’s back to being Goliath. With all of that said, North Crowley has some small position players, but they’ve got some big boys upfront. John Turntine is the best OT in the state, a 5-star that’s being recruited by everyone, and the OG next to him is a Missouri signee. So I think some of the talk about them being small is overstated.
  21. Austin sweeps Houston. Both Austin teams were underdogs too.
