  1. Who was the fourth? I know Aledo, Carthage, and Canadian.
  2. Of course it’s still valuable, just not as valuable. He’s much better off staying in-state and that’s where most of the interest is coming from anyways. It’s not like schools like Bama are actually an option for him right now.
  3. Samples’ value is way higher for in-state schools, he’s not leaving the state. So with that in mind, where else would he go? Like it or not, hot assistants probably ain’t looking to attach themselves to Sark right now. Aranda could leave Baylor at anytime. Tech is a lateral move at best, and probably a step down because you have to recruit to Lubbock. The best P5 options in his mind would be to follow Dykes to TCU or aggy. And reports were that he was angling for an aggy offer, but I don’t think he got it. So he’s following Dykes to TCU
  4. Aledo was ranked #1 and were the favorites to win state. They still got talent, they just got upset. Plus, SOC has D1 talent too.
  5. What a win by SOC! Aledo was at the SOC 14 with 48 seconds to go., but the QB fumbles snap on 4th and 1. SOC wins 33-28
  6. No, Mecca was probably referring to SOC who is currently playing Aledo in the playoffs
  7. Probably not great for those of you who were still hoping Samples to Texas was possible.
  8. Eh, I think the sunshine pumpers won’t mind throwing Coleman to the wolves. The derangement will only come if you try and criticize Sark for keeping him
  9. Didn’t have Brockemeyer’s slow ass out there.
  10. It’s crazy how few people got benched during a season that was historically awful.
  11. The CBs for Miller to Alabama have started rolling in. Guessing we circle back to Gatson. Blue being the only back in the class is no bueno.
  12. He decommitted from us right when it was leaking that us and OU were going to the SEC, potentially leaving TCU in a dead conference and committed to TCU right before we beat them. If there was any player who wouldn’t mind committing to us during a 6 game losing streak it was him. His timing has been consistently amusing.
  13. Alabama’s current leading tackler, Henry To’oTo’o and leading receiver, Jameson Williams both came from the portal. Saban is the goat, but he’s full of shit.
  14. He’s not in the shitty PAC-12 anymore. Say what you want about the Big 12, but the conference has innovative offenses, and PK clearly doesn’t know what to do with them. This 247 recruiters list is pretty useless FYI. It’s inaccurate all the time.
  15. Not saying I’m disagreeing with anything here, but it needs to be said that our defensive scheme is fucking stupid and does the DL no favors.
  16. No, we’re just not pretending to be know-it-alls after the fact. The take made sense at the time, we weren’t in a position to be picky. That’s a good point, and almost everyone on this board wants Neto, because like back then, we aren’t in a position to be picky.
  17. This is really the only point that matters in this debate. Given our poor recent history recruiting OL, absent legal issues, there was no chance we were going to pass on someone with Johnson’s measurables and potential. It didn’t work out, but this ain’t even top 50 on the long list of things people should be captain hindsighting on with this team.
  18. It’s pretty good insight on how the staff feels about certain players. Coburn was pretty much the only junior listed who actually played. Tells you what a disappointment he’s been, and that they’re ready to give guys like Murphy more run. Conversely, Overshown, Jamison, and Cook were the seniors who were not listed, so those are guys the staff really wants back. (They still have extra covid year eligibility)
  19. JAG=average, you’re not really disagreeing with the person you’re responding to. Id say before the injury Thompson was average, after it he was well below it. With his dad being a pain in the ass, it’s not at all worth keeping him around. As far as Card, the last game was the first game he didn’t completely shit himself all season. He had every opportunity to win this job over a guy we all agree is at best a JAG and he couldn’t come close to doing it. I’d like to move on from both.
  20. I mean, for this last game we don’t really either. But, I’m not seriously advocating for anything, it’s just a fun tidbit. It was only Southern Miss’ second win this season and it was their first against an FBS opponent. They were literally better without a QB.
  21. Southern Miss has gone through like 10 QBs this year, so in their game last week they just said fuck it and released a depth chart with no QBs on it. They put RB Frank Gore Jr. behind center and they won. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . The main point is I don’t want Card or Thompson back.
  22. Well, there’ll be at least one, maybe two incoming freshmen as well. It all depends on what the staff can do in the portal and in recruiting of course. I hope they do well enough that we can move on.
