  1. The PAC-12 screwed up imo. If they had just taken 8 MWC teams from the start, those 8 teams could've voted to dissolve the MWC and the PAC wouldn’t owe anyone any money. Now we’re talking about them taking 6 MWC teams anyway. They’re going to pay a shit ton of money for the right to take 2 less MWC teams.
  2. UTSA is the only one that might’ve made sense to move since they still aren’t getting a full share of the AAC tv deal, and they’re the closest geographically. I still think they made the right decision to stay. We’re talking college not the pros. Memphis is a big market for a college team, a lot of colleges are in the middle of nowhere. Also market doesn’t mean anything if the people in it don’t actually care about the teams. San Jose State is in the Bay Area, but no one in the Bay gives a shit about them, so who cares? When you combine market size and people in said market actually caring about them, Memphis is clearly one of the top G5 programs still available. It’s not like there are a ton of top notch candidates left, the G5 have been raided multiple times in the last decade, these are the best of the leftovers.
  3. Garland won state in 1999. No idea what they have did since then. Made the state semis in 2006. Only team to give Cedar Hill a close game that postseason.
  4. I was only talking about guys that left us last year. Going over everyone who ever left us would take a long-form article, and more effort than I’m willing to do for free.
  5. There are a handful of guys doing well after leaving us, but I wouldn’t say we miss any of them. Murphy is the starter at Duke and is 3-0. We all know he didn’t have a shot to play here with Quinn and Arch, I have no beef with him and root for him at Duke. Neyor is the leading receiver at Nebraska, although that’s not saying a lot, he’s the only WR there with over 100 yards on the season so far. Jerrin Thompson is the leading tackler at Auburn, but honestly looks the same as he did here. I like Bug, but he’s just not the most athletically gifted. Savion Red is the leading rusher at Nevada, and Kitan Crawford is third in tackles there. Going to a lower level is what they needed imo. Jalen Catalon has been really good at UNLV, he already has 3 interceptions, including a pick 6 and UNLV is 3-0 with two wins over Big 12 teams. Big question with Catalon is can he actually last the whole season. Everyone else has been either unremarkable at their new places or worse, buried on the depth chart. The funniest to me in this group is Terrence Brooks, who, after bitching about Texas coaches not developing him, is struggling to get playing time at Illinois. I guess the Illinois coaches couldn’t develop him either.
  6. The film you watched was the first time ever he played football. The room for growth is astronomical.
  7. 10 pt deficit might as well be 30 with Graham Mertz at QB.
  8. Not sure it will matter. DJ U obviously sucks, but so does every other aspect of this offense. The OL sucks, the RBs suck, the WRs suck, there’s no part of this offense that’s any good.
  9. SOC is a 5AD2 school, they are not mediocre for their classification. Will be a favorite to get back to the state championship game.
  10. If I’m an AAC team, I’m not leaving for the PAC until I’m sure of what the TV deal would look like. The AAC TV deal currently has higher payouts than the Mountain West, and this new PAC is basically just Mountain West #2 right now.
  11. I’m surprised the PAC didn’t just take two more MWC teams. You have to have 8 teams to qualify as a conference and NCAA rules give conferences that have been raided a grace period of 2 years. So the PAC has to get to 8 teams by the summer of 2026. They need two more teams. You can’t just hope for the ACC to implode, because even if that happens, it’s not likely to happen that fast. They have to already have something else in the works that we just don’t know about yet.
  12. So On3 is actually easier to use for this, but I think their database is weaker. On any individual players page, you can just click on their listed high school in their profile and it will take you to the HS schedule, you can then click on the roster tab to find current players with FBS interest, or an alumni tab to find players from there who signed in past years. The problem is though, I think On3 is more likely to be missing some lower ranked players with offers than 247.
  13. Sark knew his team would be good, so he had nothing to panic about. The idea of recruiting getting a boost during the season is a foreign idea to a lot of people on this board though, because Strong, Herman, and late-era Mack all lost a bunch, and earlier Mack basically wrapped up his classes before the season even started.
  14. Goddam this feels good. Gonna rewatch and see if I can spot any Michigan fans in the crowd crying.
  15. North Crowley was already ranked #5 in the state entering tonight. If they finish this off they’d have the best case for #1. Up 57-44 over DeSoto.
  16. And North Crowley is giving DeSoto all it can handle. Shout out to Crowley.
  17. The team from Georgia that DeSoto just beat 70-0 has more guys with FBS offers than that.
  18. SOC does this every year. They’re a 5AD2 school that routinely schedules the best 6A schools in the entire state. Schools that no one else wants to play. They start the season 1-2 or 0-3 and then cruise to the state championship game, because the 5AD2 playoffs feel like a vacation compared to their impossible non-district. Their non-district schedule this year is North Shore, Duncanville and Longview.
  19. He did in fact start the SMU game, for whatever that’s worth.
