  1. not a cool story bro: As a teen, a cop hit me across the back of the legs like that with a baton. I fell like I had been pole-axed. Fucking agony. My dad saw the huge bruises a few days later and asked about them. I said I got them in football practice when somebody stepped on the back of my legs in cleats. Anybody who take blows like that and not even react is a beast.
  2. I'm skeptical that guy is the CEO on Enron. In other words, I'm calling bullshit.
  3. Some years ago, a drone flew over my house. I would have shot that fucker down (20 ga bird shot would have handled it just fine I think) but I didn't want to get the local Sheriff/DEA/BP/DPS all up in my shit. I have no doubt they were looking for illegal drug smugglers.
  4. Yeah, shoot em down. If we are lucky, they'll shoot down that POS you call TrumpForce 1.
  5. When vaccines are banned, the same thing will happen here in Idiot World.
  6. I wouldn't worry about. Bipedal, 70+ kg animals are not a mountain lions prey. More likely to get in a car wreck driving out there, or to get shot by your buddy than to get attacked by a mtn lion.
  7. If I were him, and the 4 mil offer was real, I'd take it in a heartbeat. Its the smart move. edit to add: Also he can keep getting that sweet sweet Dr. P money
  8. Our grandkids will be getting vaccines in Mexico and Canada in a few years. It'll work out because they can just get them when we all make our annual pilgrimage across the border to get our cheap drugs and cavities filled.
  9. I don't think I would be as frustrated as I am if the hype surrounding him hadn't been as high as it was.
  10. As usual, the last couple of books aren't as good, but the grand finale is very satisfying, a perfect ending to the series, imo. I also liked the epilogue.
  11. What happened to 28 months?
  12. I'm not sure but Bron and Jaime's Excellent Adventure in Dorne wasn't in the last season, was it? Because that was worse than the Holocaust.
  13. I predict we end up playing the Ducks. I don't think we beat the Ducks. If the Ducks win, I will be rooting for them over Georgia, ND, or (if there is no God and they make it that far) Pedo.
  14. Genuine question, no snark, what energy does Ontario export to the US?
  15. I'm guessing stadiums too small for all the hoopla. eidt: google AI tells me "The Army-Navy football game is almost always played at a neutral site because neither the Army nor Navy's home stadiums are large enough to accommodate the massive crowds that attend this historic rivalry game; neither academy has an on-campus stadium with the capacity to handle the large number of fans, cadets, and former service members who want to watch the matchup."
  16. I'll watch it. They don't play at their home stadiums?
  17. My ABIA story of incompetence, although its probably more of a combination of British Airways and ABIA incompetence. Flew back from London to ABIA two summers ago. After boarding in London, had like an hour delay taking off because there was "a gasket hanging out of the engine, and we need to find mechanics to check it out." Landed in ABIA and had to wait for another hour because "a plane was blocking our access to the terminal." Then while waiting for luggage, the conveyor jams up. One bag would come down every 10 minutes or so. "Sorry for the delay, but there is a logjam in the luggage conveyor. We're working to get that cleared out for you." That took over another hour. Over three hours total in delays for three different reasons.
  18. It should cost what the free market dictates it costs. Except we don't have a free market. Which means it would be more expensive, so I guess we agree.
  19. lol "student athlete." Div 1 or FBS football players stopped being student athletes a long time ago. NIL just makes it official. He makes millions playing football, which means he's a professional athlete, which means open season on the internet or other media.
  20. Love him or hate him or meh, he stopped being a kid when he started cashing those NIL and Dr. Pepper checks.
  21. Hey moron, vetting presidential cabinet picks IS your job. Its right there in the constitution.
  22. Sounds familiar. Same fault that caused Mt. St. Helens eruption, iirc. Was that really a "big one"? Or just a medium to smallish one that destroyed a lot because nobody knew or cared how to build in an earthquake zone?
  23. I think the "Big One" will hit farther north. Washington or thereabouts. California will always just be relatively small ones. At least that's what I remember from my one geology class so many years ago.
  24. Bolded is already happening. They are calling it a "buffer zone".
