  4. The idea of my wife or daughters actually trying to use a set of socket wrenches for anything is both hilarious and frightening.
  5. fucking NPR this morning had the Georgia Republican party chair on air. Asked him something about DoTArd's not being on the ballot in Colorado. Guy said the constitution says to be president you have to be 35, natural born citizen, and lived in country for 14 years. Said nothing about #4. NPR pussy doing the interview just let is slide, no push back, nothing. edit: linky poo if you want to listen https://www.npr.org/2023/12/22/1221128946/georgia-gop-chair-discusses-colorado-ruling-disqualifying-trump-from-primary-bal

  8. Two drop off lanes at my daughter's school. After drop off, both lanes T into another road, the right lane has to turn right, the left lane has to turn left. Probably 1 out of every three days, some cop parks in the right lane just past the drop off point, gets out and chit chats with the school employees who direct traffic and kids at the drop off point. This forces people dropping off in the right lane to have to merge into the left after the drop off, which causes traffic to back up. This cop could literally park 20 feet away in an actual parking spot and not block any traffic. Infuriating. I mean, I'm glad a cop is there. Helps prevent assholes being assholes in the drop off area, make everyone feel safe (although after Uvalde maybe not so much). But goddamn, there are a hundred other places the cop could park that wouldn't cause a traffic jam. Of course then the cop would have to walk 20 feet. I realize compared to shooting and lying and drunk driving and crashing into night clubs, its not a big deal, but it shows the entitlement and lack of giving a fuck.
  9. My BIL is an aggy engineer. He works for..... wait for it....... TXDoT.
  10. I keep seeing this "noy appearing on the ballot" tossed around, and then talk of people writing him in on the Colorado ballot. So, this entire amendment is just to keep the insurrectionists' names off the ballot, but people can still write them in, and if enough do so, the electors can still give the insurrectionist their electoral votes? What kind of shit is that? Or does "not appearing on the ballot" mean that the insurrectionist cannot win Colorado's electoral votes?
  11. lol Come on old man, you don't chill in the Dill?
  12. regarding point #1- its not about the money.
  13. It could be that all the bartending led to the high social IQ, but I think its more likely the high social IQ led her to a job (bartending) that involves lots of social interaction. what is the bolded? Maybe I'm off base here or thinking of someone else, but aren't you a recovering alcoholic? If not I apologize. If so, nothing weird to you about her serving alcohol? Anyway, good job dad.
  14. The only thing worse than a man wearing tube socks with sandals is a man wearing sandals. Allowed exceptions: while at the beach or poolside.
  15. Anybody remember Google Glass? I bet that dude was a Glasshole also.
  16. Ratio of me turning off lights in my house to me turning on lights in my house is easily 10 to 1, on a good day.
  17. Remember, it was a BP team that took out the shooter at Uvalde while over 100 DPS and other LEO hid with their thumbs up their asses. Which brings up the point-- if BP didn't have to do the job of Texas law enforcement, maybe they could do a better job of guarding the borders.
  18. its becoming self aware.
  19. in the transfer portal
  20. I for one am shocked! that Ram drivers are the worst.
  21. I've thought about this with my 13 yr old daughter. I live in a small town, and everybody kind of knows everybody, and everybody "just loves" my daughter. She volunteers two saturday mornings a month at the local food pantry, unless she has something going on for school (band, sports, whatever) that day. She also of course has chores around the house, which imo aren't very difficult. Anyway, two friends of the wife and I have already told us she has a job when she's old enough: one is at a bookstore. one is at a wine bar. Either one would be a good job to work part time during high school, I think. She'll probably take one of them. She's also said she wants to be a camp counsellor at her summer camp when she's old enough. None of those I would consider a shit job but I think she'll be ok.
  22. Before we start cutting SS, we should cut Congress' retirement plans.
