  1. I watched Brazil v France in 2006 at a NIKE clubhouse setup in LA (Melrosw & La Brea) and a third of the 100 or so people were American kids in Brazil jerseys that were all excited to see 2002 repeat itself. I found great joy in watching the dreams of these kids get crushed by Zizou. 😎
  2. FYI- For tho$€ who car€, Today is Argentina’s Independence Day. Don’t know how that will affect their will to win, but just thought that I would pass that along to those £ooking to £ay down a £ittle money. 💰💵 💶💷💴💰
  3. The sun appears to be setting on Lulu. Vekic was serving for the 3rd set, but Lulu broke back to get back on serve. But since that, it has been all Donna.

Spain reminds me so much of the USMNT.
  5. The toughest call that Klopp is going to have to make is to call the Alabama staff and tell them “No.” That’s the thoughest call that Klopp is going to have to make. So we’ll see what happens. NARRATOR: Klopp decided to coach at Oregon.
  6. So are you saying that they needed “more shots on goal… If that makes any sense. Um… uhhh… hey!”?

It could be as simple as: With an 18 man roster, we can’t afford to bring a field player who doesn’t play defense and can only play one position. They would never say: “Diego is too fucking lazy and selfish for an 18 man roster.” But it could simply be that. If you had a 26 man Olympic roster like the Copa America & the Euros, he probably is on the team. We are left to wonder. 🤔

We would have never seen him, and neither would US Soccer’s youth set up, if he hadn’t been playing with Messi. Still pissed about Mihailovic being brought in to take Diego Luna’s spot. Fuck US Soccer. ”Diego, you deserve to be our first choice #10, when we play with one, but you look like MS13 or a villain from a Robert Rodriguez film, so we are going to bring in a Northern European overage player and you should be honored to be a practice player so that our squad can practice against someone of your creativity & savvy. Thanks, or ‘grassy ads’ if that helps you understand how we feel.” ’Murika! Freedom! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 *I wonder if corporate sponsors pass notes along to US Soccer. -When all things are equal, choose the NIKE player. -Choose a player that you would want your. Daughter to date. -Choose someone from major metropolitan areas over kids from Nowheresville. I have never heard any rumors suggesting that they do this, but it would make corporate sense if they did.
  9. Canada’s speed may create more issues for Argentina in this second matchup now that Jesse & friends have a better handle on Argentina’s limited pace. On the other hand, Scaloni should look to play Messi as more of a traditional #10 and look to spring the kids on 1-v-1 breaks rather than trying to get old Messi to outrun Canada’s flying wingers. (Now watch Messi have 2 breakaway goals.)
  10. Novak looking to have some ab discomfort.
  11. I think that they may have found during COVID that it is easier to film if they distance themselves and that they don’t need to send a camera man down to the court to get good shots of both the interviewer and the interviewee. Also better for a direct view from the crowd. …but yes, in the grand COVID scheme of things, it does seem like a relic from another time.
  12. She has greatly improved her serve under his tutelage, but until she fixes that shitty extreme grip forehand that is best on clay courts and then on slow hard courts, she’ll keep getting knocked out of Wimbledon as soon as she gets to the round of 16. She is basically swinging a racquet that’s face is parallel with the ground and if the ball isn’t checking up, she’s fucked. Iga’s forehand is the same and she’s such a mental basket case and can’t deal with not being in control, so she basically skips the grass court season and then plays Wimbledon out of obligation. With the Olympics coming up back in Paris, Iga wants to wake up and win a Gold and Coco will try to slide into a Silver. With the exception of the serve, Coco is a poor man’s Iga… …but with all the pigment.

Our search for a scoring striker is over!! Ladt night brought us… We can double dip!
  14. As I was saying… Navarro beats Coco’s shitty-ass forehand and is on to the quarters in straight sets.
  15. …and DONE. Keys couldn’t move, but still got to 30-40 before double faulting to go to 5-5. At 15 - 15 on Paolini’s serve Madison had to quit. She left the court crying. I am glad that Paolini won, because I hate when someone wins and then withdraws and there isn’t a match in the next round. ❤️🇮🇹Paolini🇮🇹❤️
  16. Madison Keys was serving for the match at 5-2 in the third and then strains something in/around her left groin on a serve and lost two straight games. It is now 5-4 in the 3rd and after getting felt up by the physio, they have left the court so that the physio can tape up her groin out of view of the pervs in the stands and the millions of peeves watching around the world. When she returns, she will attempt to serve for the match once more. Carlos Álcaraz up 2 sets to love over Ugo Humbert.

After getting passed over for the Olympics, Diego Luna had 3 assist and a goal tonight. FUCK U.S. SOCCER!!!!
  18. It’s a lot easier to act a foo’ when you don’t have half of your family tree within 10 miles of your ass. Plus, that NIKE relationship will be plenty strong before he even gets drafted. 🤷‍♂️
  19. 3 2 1 4 X Little Paolini kind of reminds me of my Argentine ex, but much more smiley. IN OTHER NEWS: Glad that we’re rid of Iga. She wasn’t going to win it, was probably going to get crushed by Ostapenko, but the announcers drooling over her every swing of the racquet got old a long time ago. Next up is Coco, with a similar regarded forehand grip, getting knocked out and completely shocking the announcers. Coco has a better serve, but much shittier consistency with her forehand.
  20. Not that it’s a competition, but I am older than that. I think that it was ABC that showed some of the 1986 matches live, including the opening match that featured what, back in ‘86, tied for “Goal of the Tournament”. The earliest coverage of any kind was a tape delayed (I think) replay of the second half of the Italy v West Germany Final in Spain. (1982) At least that’s what they showed on English speaking free TV. We never had cable, so I don’t think that I learned about the Spanish broadcasts until 1990. There was some pre-tournament vignettes about various USMNT players including one where Tony Meola went over to Italy 🇮🇹 before the tournament to meet some of his distant relatives. Claudio Canniggia 🇦🇷 picking up a weak yellow card and not being able to play in the final against West Germany was what instigated the change in when yellow cards were wiped out. He was the only offensive player of any quality besides Diego and his yellow basically assured that W.G. would win the final.
  21. 2/4ths of the semifinalists speak that rioplatense castellano. If anyone thinks that Colombia 🇨🇴 vs 🇺🇾 Uruguay is going to be any different than tonight’s match, then… Vos no conocés los uruguayos.
  22. I think that CONMEBOL & FS1 should be paying the viewers for watching this thing.
