  1. Sabalenka’s hard hitting seems to set up nicely for the way Stearns likes to hit the ball. And Sabalenka double faults twice and the. Sprays to forehands wide and now Stearns is up 3-1. Sabalenka seems to be pressing… and then Stearns hit an insane inside-out forehand that almost defied the laws of physics.
  2. Stern’s looking up for it after the first 3 games. ONSERVE STEARNS 2 SABALEN 1
  3. You know… They can have a persecution complex and… …still be right. For the same reason this thread exists, if all else is even, it’s fun to watch aggies suffer and whine. 🤷‍♂️ Sue me if you want, but I find that much more entertaining than watching their teams compete.
  4. Are you new here? Chip Clips are totally going to be $3.50.
  5. I would buy the growler & the small knife. I don’t know if the other knife is a hunting accessory, or the jagged edge is for cutting string/cord, but I basically use small knives to open/ breakdown cardboard boxes from Amazon, so small & blade edge is preferred. I am serious about the ceramic beer steins. I would likely buy 2. 🤘
  6. Mucha suerte por la lesbiana argentina 🇦🇷. Podoroska would have been one of my English lesbian former flatmate’s favorite players and she didn’t even follow tennis. The only think holding her back from being #1 was that the flatmate preferred androgynous looking lesbians with slim hips*. *it’s worthless information like this that will likely stick in my brain for the rest of my life. 🤫
  7. Venus is ranked in the 400s, she is only getting into tournaments as a wild card. My guess is that she will be a Wild Card at all 4 Grand Slams (maybe 3 and she skips the French), she will be a wild card at Indian Wells, Miami, Cincinnati and the US Open in the USA. She may take a wild card to a grass tournament before Wimbledon. Venus can play well for a set, but she falls apart in the middle of the second set, so she can barely win any matches at the WTA level. She will not retire this season unless she is told that she won’t get any more wildcards.
  8. “I’d Pee In Her Butt” on an apron that has a zipper fly in the appropriate place with pockets for BBQing supplies on each side.
  9. I think that it comes from… But I’m just saying that in English & Spanish, the short name from Francis/Francisco = what the hotdog can be called. I don’t make the words, I just waste time thinking about shit that doesn’t matter at all in life.

    USMNT 2024

This “inverted winger” shit is why was saying that he was the closest thing that we had to a like-for-like winger replacement for Pulisic. But Pulisic has majorly improved over the last 18 to 24 months. 1) Pulisic no longer appears to hold the ball too long and dribble into defenders & bodily harm the way he did in late 2021 qualifying. 2) Puli has always been many times more clinical than Dest, which used to be their biggest differentiator. 3) Puli has shown that he can play both sides and create for himself and set up teammates while starting out in the final 3rd while Dest has only shown to be efficient in the final third when he is on a run into that area of the field. From give-and-go’s to creating his own shot to finding a cutting teammate, he hasn’t shown the ability to do that when already set up in the final third. That said, even Weah isn’t as nifty bringing the ball up field and then working the ball towards the middle before creating with it as Dest is. Weah’s one trick is extremely effective, but he hasn’t shown the variety…. yet. PSV Americans are doing us (U.S.) proud.
  11. I would definitely order a ceramic stein. Those things hold temps for so much longer than glassware.
  12. “Pancho” is the nickname name for “Francisco”. And just like “Frank” for “Francis”, “Pancho” is both a shortened name AND a hot dog 🌭. ”Pancho’s Restaurant” is just “Frank’s Restaurant”. 🇲🇽 🇦🇷 🇪🇸
  13. I tend to call them closeted homosexuals. Don’t give a flip if someone is gay, but the conservatism and judgmental moral superiority that frequently accompanies those in the closet it something that I take issue with. Sinerely, Varsity
  14. “Should be noted that a commitment will not stop his recruitment. He’s still like to take 5+ officials.” E.U.- “I know what a commitment is.” Surly- “I dont think you do.”
  15. I’m not wishing him to go to Atlanta. Was listening to a fantasy football podcast and nearly every fantasy player from Atlanta, Las Vegas, Minnesota, and _______ (?) would have their draft position hold steady or drop if Wilson signed with their team. No one would benefit from his team signing Wilson.
  16. Atlanta should pick him up and either draft a QB to sit for a year, or strengthen their OL with this year’s great OL class and then draft a QB next year. I think that Wilson is washed up, signing him will buy time with the fans while they strengthen their line.
  17. They Rock/Paper/Scissors instead of flipping a coin to determine who gets to choose to serve or receive. I like that. Badosa’s jaw dropped after witnessing a Ben Shelton 143 mph ace from court level. The other players are just sitting on benches next to the players’ benches.
  18. Indian Wells puff mixed doubles tie-breaker challenge thing. The court is surrounded by a Who’s Who of ATP & WTA names. Some pairs are from the same country (Poland & Denmark) and some pairs are couples (Tsitsipas & Badosa).
  19. I also have a worthless Liberal Arts degree, but I had a great 8th grade science teacher* who was a bit of a legend at our school. Most of his former students from 8th grade Earth Science or 12th grade Geology and/or Astronomy classes (semester class each) remember more from his classes than just about any other class they took at our school. SIDE NOTE: He was talking up the 2024 April 8th total eclipse back in the ‘80s and kept talking about holding a gathering on campus. Well… the telescope is gone, the on campus planetarium is now more of an IMAX planetarium, and the teacher killed himself in 2012, but the gathering is still happening. 👏👏 *He was an alum and came back to teach because he loved geology & astronomy, we had a planetarium & an observatory with a massive telescope, and he came from money, so he didn’t need to work his ass off.
  20. Simply massive (to speak like a Brit) GUITAR AUCTION starting today in the UK.🇬🇧 Long video of the guitars that they have… https://auctions.gardinerhoulgate.co.uk …or their “sister site” guitarauctions.com
  21. …is this when we bring up RED ZONE EFFICIENCY? Or are we supposed to do that on another thread?
  22. Two groomers vs the greatest band ever… 🤔
  23. Only 11 days after this post… Messi & Friends had had enough. Cincinnati sign USMNT defender Yedlin from Inter Miami FC Cincinnati announced the signing of Inter Miami defender DeAndre Yedlin for $172,799 in General Allocation Money on Monday. Sources had confirmed the transfer to ESPN's Jeff Carlisle on Sunday. "We're excited to welcome DeAndre and his family to Cincinnati," Cincinnati GM Chris Albright said. "He is a natural leader who will add valuable experience and quality to our group. We are confident he will be a great fit for us on and off the field, and we look forward to him joining us." Inter Miami said in a news release that the move gave the club roster flexibility. "DeAndre has been a leader for us on and off the field, and we're very thankful for everything he has done for Inter Miami. I've known him since his academy days in Seattle, and have been proud to see his success here, including helping the team lift its first trophy," Miami sporting director Chris Henderson said. "This trade gives us the flexibility to continue building our roster. Our ambitions remain high and we will look to use the space created by this move to improve our squad as we aim to compete for titles." Yedlin, who played for the United States men's national team as recently as last year, will take over at right wing-back in Cincinnati manager Pat Noonan's system. The position needed reinforcing following the offseason departure of Santiago Arias. For Miami, the move gives the Herons increased salary budget flexibility, given that Yedlin's cap hit was $683,000. In terms of who will replace Yedlin in Miami's lineup, Julian Gressel has played right-back in the past. Gressel has performed well in the center of Miami's midfield, assisting on two goals so far this season, but new acquisition Federico Redondo is expected to get his U.S. work visa this week, and he is among the options to play in midfield. The trade also gives Miami flexibility to acquire an additional player should that be deemed necessary. Inter Miami have been linked with Houston Dynamo defender Franco Escobar. Yedlin should do plenty to bolster Cincinnati's defense given his breadth of experience. He broke in with the Seattle Sounders in 2013. The defender went on to play two seasons in Seattle before heading to Europe, first with Tottenham Hotspur and later with Sunderland, Newcastle United and Galatasaray. He joined up with Inter Miami prior to the 2022 season. All told, Yedlin has made 338 league and cup appearances at the professional level, scoring seven goals. At the international level, Yedlin has made 81 appearances with the U.S. and was part of the 2014 and 2022 World Cup rosters. https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/39652382/cincinnati-sign-usmnt-defender-yedlin-inter-miami I’m thinking that if you want to play in Miami, it would behoove you to speak Spanish… and not to make pregame speeches.
