  1. I hate seeing Emi lose. I hate Garnacho’s hair.
  2. My brother’s cherry pie ready just before 2:00am in the wee hours of December 26th… HAPPY KWANZA!! …and/or BOXING DAY. Whichever you prefer.
  3. Lefty?!? Dooming the kid to limited guitar options for the rest of his life… probably saving him 10s of thousands of dollars. Buen tío. PS- The woods on that guitar are beautiful. Much easier to get on a plane. 👍
  4. Looks fucking outstanding! I saw an article that I chose not to click on earlier this month that stated that the USA was no long a prime rib country. Obviously that writer doesn’t read Surly.
  5. Apple 🍏 🍎 Pie w/Crumb Topping My dad’s recipe. My brother or sister usually make the pies, but I took care of the apple pie this year. (My brother will maybe make the cherry pie tonight… or tomorrow.
  6. The great thing is that after the troll job, we added two or three new commitments over the next 48 hours so the news cycle doesn’t even remember that Evans did anything other than sign with the team he had been committed to for months.
  7. I just noticed that when I changed “adolescent” to “pre-pubescent”, I didn’t change the article. I was going to read through the responses to see if I had been called out. NARRATOR: “Napoleon had been.” ✔️➕
  8. If you’re an pre-pubescent boy… Here are some toy dinosaurs: 🦕🦖 Merry Christmas 🎄
  9. I’m with you on Foster. I haven’t watched his huddle, but even though it sounds like it will take him until the fall of 2026 to be a player, I like the projection of his being an enormous dude I am not right there with you on not know that “run” is the past participle of “to run”. ”McKinley has run out of welcomes…” I would say that Surly and the Pancake Factory BMDs deserve a ton of props for prioritizing the lines for Sark’s first full recruiting class. Pulling in those 6 OLs has made all the difference with regards to giving the big uglies their props, their time in the spotlight, and da’ monies. Gracias a ustedes con plata!
  10. When World Cup champion Frank Leboeuf was there with his family one Saturday, he did not participate. If was beach soccer without the sand. (Well, the beach was about 20 to 22 blocks away.) Just friends and acquaintances having fun. No uniforms, no refs, just a gathering once or twice a week at someone’s house. The rosters consisted of whomever was available and was quick to respond… which is why I never turned down an invite. I didn’t want to be moved to the “backup option” column. Then I went to Ireland for about two weeks in February of 2007 and then went down to Buenos Aires for a couple of months in March, that turned into 8 months in 2007 followed by a more permanent move in February of 2008 that lasted until September of 2014. The soccer consisted of no one famous from 2 to 7 different countries when I’d play in Argentina. (On a rented 5v5 field, not barefoot in a yard.) WARNING: No guitars were played at these events. (Sorry)
  11. Someone bought the house next door, tore it down, and made a yard out of the lot. We were playing barefoot. The field was not 110 yards long, it wasn’t 55 yards long, it was more like 25-35 yards long with those pop-up goals that are about 3 1/2 feet tall.
  12. Screenshot from this video. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C1K92WGB-F2/?igsh=MW05aDA0MzZrbjB6bA== Totally appropriate Longhorn fan gear!
  13. A lot from summer of 2006 to roughly January 2007. Barefoot. Occasionally coed.., An incoming UCLA girls’ soccer transfer started talking to Jonesy at a Chelsea summer training event and the next thing you know, she’s showing up to play a bunch too. Barefoot. And she’s on a scholarship. Her coach would have shit. Then she starts bringing some of her friends. Broken toes could have happened any time. Flea showed up one week night in the fall. I walked in the gate, like usual. Walked around to the back of the house to enter that way and when I got to the kitchen, Woody (Harrelson) was there as usual, can’t remember if Jonesy played that night (he was usually a Saturday afternoon guy), and then there’s Flea saying “Hi, I’m Flea.” When I would run down the names of the people who played over the last few gatherings, my brother would comment that it sounded like an episode of “Entourage”. NOTE: I’m not famous.
  14. Pete’s still a competitive nice guy. Mack is still a thin-skinned piece of shit. The loss to Stanford in his 2nd year maybe was the first of dozens of times that I wanted to smash that fucker in the face. He could recruit pretty well for a while, but he sucked ass as a coach. We managed to win quite a few games despite his tendency to get tight and choke, because superior talent overcame inferior coaching. Fuck that butter toothed piece of shit. GO STATE!
  15. I’m fairly certain that I used to play 4v4 or 5v5 soccer with pop-up goals 🥅 with the guy in the red circle back in 2006. He had a big guy and was the elder statesman, so he always got to play striker for his side and never had to run to retrieve the ball after he would rifle a ball over the fence. Nice guy.
  16. “Spelt”, not “spelled”? Are you British of something? You put “Tex” in your name to throw people off your scent, ehhhh Buster? Now you wait just a cotton-pickin’-minute here, ya’ see!
  17. We do love those early enrollees. Pretty pumped about this guy after his not being on my radar 60 hours ago. His Calabasas teammates may have been all- “WTF? …merde.” But our coaches definitely love the focus on college.
  18. This old article says that he shit down his season after 4 games to focus on school so that he could graduate in December. https://www.si.com/college/colorado/recruiting/colorado-commit-aaron-butler-plans-to-graduate-early-and-enroll-in-december
  19. How come the list of commits hasn’t been updated yet? We need to know if Aaron is an early enrollee RIGHT NOW!!
  20. Just kind of. He’s become a pretty good college QB. He was shit at A&M, but that could have been all Jimbo or maybe a combo of Jimbo and not enough time to adjust to the college game. (Which is mostly Jimbo’s fault as well.) He doesn’t seem to be a Sark type, but if had been at UT, he would be a much better QB than he is after training up to he Jimbo Revolving Shit Show.
  21. Yeah, really nice. The cheerleaders were practicing inside and a security was only going to let us take a photo of the Hinkle Fieldhouse placard (above) and then shoo us out of the concourse, but the cheerleading coach walked into the building about that time and invited us to come in and take photos of the interior if I wanted. There was ZERO opportunity of sneaking photos of the cheerleaders without being busted for perving, so I just acted like I was NOT a starving mongrel dog in a meat locker and concentrated on taking structural photos without creeping. (Oh… but I wanted to just perv away. 😅)
