Yes I am well aware of the matador. Also, thanks for the Saddle Tramps link!

Funny tidbit about the Will Rogers Statue.

The statue, titled “Into the Sunset,” depicts Rogers on his horse, Soapsuds. An inscription at its base reads “Lovable Old Will Rogers on his favorite horse, Soapsuds, riding into the Western sunset.”

The statue, near the Broadway and University Avenue entrance to the Tech campus, initially faced a more northwesterly direction, so as to have Rogers and Soapsuds riding off toward the West Texas sunset. But that initial placement had the hind quarters of the horse facing toward downtown Lubbock, much to the consternation of some local officials.

To solve this problem, the statue was repositioned “in the late 1960s or ’70s,” according to Snead. It was moved 23 degrees so the horse’s posterior faces more toward College Station, and away from downtown Lubbock

I still have a few questions on Tech history and traditions that were never answered over at the old house. One big one, who exactly are the Saddletramps? Are they to Tech what the Silver Spurs are to UT? Also, who wraps the Will Rogers statue? Is it done only by the Saddletramps or can other students partake? Also, why isn't the stadium named after Will Rogers?

Also, you know our first mascot is a Matador, right? I think it's better than the Red Raiders. That's why our School song is called "Matador Song".

    Quote

    Fight, Matadors, for Tech,

Songs of love we sing to thee,

Bear our banners far and wide,

    Ever will be our pride,

    Fearless champions ever be,

    Stand on heights of victory,

    Strive for honor evermore,

    Long live the Matadors!

Once that season ended, I put that one aside, i.e. I've never watched it again, though obviously it's hard to avoid seeing the one play by Crabtree.  I knew that it could very well turn into some kind of fetish object with a lot of Tech fans, and it has.

when i use to get drunk i would watch that game over and over fist pumping and crying. fuck, i hate alcohol

  4. I know some people sell things on eBay because they need a little extra cash and have things laying around the house they need to get rid of. However, do any of you guys go to garage sales/estate sales/thrift stores find something and then flip it for a profit on eBay?

I do this quite a bit, it’s not necessarily to make money to support myself but rather for fun. I like finding things that are interesting and then researching them. The best is selling it to someone that truly appreciates the item or its something they have been looking for, for a long time.

I sell a lot of vintage sports memorabilia. I live in Lubbock so I find quite a bit of vintage Tech items and old SWC things. Everything else I sell are just things I find interesting. I once find a Zodiac watch at a garage sale and sold it for $200 to some guy in Rhode Island. I bought it for .50 cents.

The most interesting sell to date is when I sold a tumbleweed to some lady in Rising Star, TX.

This is the only Tumbleweed I have sold. I have hundreds on my property!

The problem is neither Tech nor UT has been all that great since 2012. I don't think we have had one really compelling game since that night that shall not be mentioned.

Sadly, the greatest night in Tech history.

A store that will beat any advertised price prompts George to scour the city in search of sales and discounts. Elaine keeps ordering from the same restaurant in the hopes of flirting with the delivery driver. Jerry receives increasingly bizarre wrong-number calls. Kramer starts extreme couponing.

    Could totally see this one.

    I laughed.

this one made me chuckle too

Jerry’s new girlfriend is featured in a commercial for ED. They are out to dinner and she gets recognized by the wait staff. They start to give Jerry unsolicited advice on how to keep the romance alive and boost his performance.

Both teams herp-derped through it, but congrats on a great season - and having no quit in you.

My heart and liver got a work out tonight.    And that line of Tech blonds was fine as well.  More than guns were up.

    congrats gata!
