  1. I was just watching Winning Time and during the 79/80 season they had Knight offering Magic his own branded shoe, some Nike stock and $1 per shoe sold. No idea how true that is, but once someone develops a personally branded shoe, royalties are a natural and logical result.
  2. Forgive me for getting off topic but this is what I thought when they finally showed one of the aliens' weakness in a quiet place.
  3. All I know is I'd spend every day setting a new trap for those creatures until I had exhausted everything. Douse with gas and ignite, chop in half, crush with log, trap in a pit, etc. Seems these people just shot them a couple of times and said "oh well, they're indestructible".
  4. Re Allstate, it's a sample size of one but I had a claim from them in 2020 that had no problems. Granted, it was in an area that was declared a disaster area by the state due to a huge hail storm (pretty much every house within a half mile of me got a new roof) so there might have been pressure from the Minnesota state regulators but I got all new roof, gutters, skylights etc. with no questions asked. Since the roof was already pretty old and at the end of its useful life, my pocketbook was not upset with that turn of events.
  5. I used goat to buy my kids shoes from time to time. The sellers sends them to goat and they verify and then send to you. Last time the description was off (something like the original box wasn't included if I recall) so goat asked me if I wanted a refund or if they should look for a replacement on their website. Tldr - been happy with goat in the 2 or 3 times I've used them.
  6. Perhaps this is covered in one of the 545 other pages I'm not going to read, but how was UCLA able to just leave Cal Berkeley behind like that? You'd think the UC system with 2 crown jewels would make sure to protect each one. The answer may be as simple as the UC system doesn't give a shit about football, but damn this is going to cost Berkeley a lot of money going forward.
  7. Does anyone still have that coverage map? 75% of the country designated for the Texas game with a thin peninsula extending to exactly cover Bandera with some shitty big 10 matchup of something like Purdue/Iowa. That had to be 15 years ago- who was that mad genius that did that, I assume he made it over here.
  8. Terrell was such a freak he made UT Chattanooga leave the conference. Edit -Uncle Nate beat me to it.
  9. And then the next year against Auburn at DKR he ran down Bo Jackson and knocked him out of the game with a separated shoulder.
  10. From that article - "why not throw out into the ether that Texas has the best roster in college football, when Georgia, Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, Texas A&M and Clemson — at least — have better talent." This gif fits for multiple reasons
  11. Pays 250k assuming it stays at +25000. Website I just checked had it dropped down to +20000.
  12. Have you ever seen a gang banger fishing on lake Tahoe? Me neither.
  13. I'd like to announce that I'm also offering odds at 250 to 1 for me to have a threesome with Salma Hayek and Liz Hurley in calendar year 2023. No limit on wager amount.
  14. Herr Brown was apparently also the inspiration for the Cuero mascot. These Germans coming over to Texas must have just loved their first few summers. My mom's side is out of New Braunfels. There's at least one example in my family line of a spouse saying "fuck this heat, I'm going back to Deutschland."
  15. I think announcing to the world that your son is the starting QB before he even sees a practice does wonders for your QB depth. I keep seeing that he really cares about the kids, but I think he seems to just care about the talented ones. I get it, college football is a ruthless business and you better win, but it'd be nice if he would just shut up about how it's all for the kids. It's like the bible beater that always tells you how religious he is, right until he rips you off.
  16. I was at Conroe when he was at McCullough and both of those teams were really good. Back then in the pre game warmups you could dunk all you wanted so both teams would put on a show, especially for big rivalry games. Our student section was ragging lance pretty badly so he proceeded to do a one hand tomahawk while looking right at us and flipping us off. I've liked him ever since then. Seemed like a good guy.
  17. According to the Chicago Manual of Style, an ellipsis should have spaces between each dot. To do otherwise is an abomination to the language and you are now my sworn enemy.
  18. I liked her reaction when they asked if she was a cop in real life. Oh hell no, or something along those lines.
  19. The plaintiff's psychiatrist on the stand revealing clearly privileged information about his patient got me. I'm impressed at what a genuinely good guy the main character was.
  20. A lot of brokered CDs have fdic insurance. They should say it on the terms as it's a pretty big deal, especially lately.
