  1. This. I think you need 1) 2 blue bloods, 2) near campus of one of them so they don't incur travel costs, and 3) one (or both) hasn't won a championship in a while and is full of highly paid fanatical alums. Or Michigan/Texas this year if it had happened. Even then, I wonder if the ubiquity today of internet brokers would change the calculus. In January 2006 there were just no extra tickets available. I'm not sure if internet brokers would alleviate supply problem or just goose demand even higher in the same situation today.
  2. Concentration of what? The literally tens of millions of individual investors that actually own those shares via the three mentioned conduit companies? If that's the case, we really need to go after DTC- those bastards seem to own everything...
  3. Disagree. The worst losses are when you know for a fact you're the far better team, you just shit the bed and gave it away, much like that Halloween night in Lubbock. I'm not thrilled but can tip my hat to penix and acknowledge it wasn't our day. But we should have bitch slapped that tech team.
  4. On the penix beyond the line of scrimmage throw his entire body was not beyond line, therefore it was the correct call. But yeah, the refs kind of sucked.
  5. I had everything set up other than game tickets for my son and I to go. Friday he calls me and says my stomach really hurts kind of on the lower right. 24 hours later he's getting appendectomy. So I guess he saved me a few grand.
  6. Blue has shake but that's not helpful against any DB with a brain when you're on the sidelines and if you are tackled in bounds game is over. I like that call with a minute left, hate it with 15 seconds.
  7. Hadn't really thought of that. So the refs can't/won't grab another ball and set it up and start the clock? I ask because if that's the case it should be standard for anybody running the 2 minute drill to do an extended celebration after each first down.
  8. I love Jwhitt, but what the fuck was that celebration after his last catch? Clock is temporarily stopped, get on the ball and ready to go. The Texas sideline was yelling the same to him.
  9. Maybe we did and I missed it but at a certain point I said fuck it, why don't we just tell hill to do nothing but go after the QB.
  10. You really wanted that joint filing status for the 23 taxes, huh?
  11. It's almost as if Bernie doesn't know shit about fuck when it comes to markets and how they work. Shocking, I know.
  12. "I did not realize that Kelly was such a racist"- Chewbacca
  13. I've always gotten the sense Quinn hates doing interviews. He's probably thrilled at this, honestly.
  14. Nice job, but don't forget to take that 25% commission they charge into account. I think you'd be better of hedging with wash money line if you're looking for locking in profit
  15. This man is 46 years old. I look every bit of my 53 years and I'm in the flower of my youth compared to this guy.
  16. There's lodging available if you do a little digging as a lot of folks that made a reservation have 3 days before checkin to get a refund so stuff randomly pops up. Today I grabbed a place downtown 4 blocks from Superdome. Even if those aren't available I saw a lot of stuff further out.
  17. Damn, the lowest face value ticket for the final is 650?
  18. Yeah, I'll happily stay at 5 if it means 5 stars are not signing with conference rivals.
  19. Looks like it was a random pizza delivery driver. Or a professor. Need to see her husband to be sure which one.
  20. Is there any great downside to sitting on Washington side? I imagine it'll be at least sprinkled with plenty of orange and I don't think huskies fans are going to go all Ohio State on opposing fans. Ive just been looking at prices with no idea which "side" they're on.
  21. I remember feeling the same way with paying face for my Michigan rose bowl tickets then the next year thanking my lucky stars I had tickets in hand at any price. My entirely nonexpert opinion is sugar bowl tickets will be fairly available, though probably not below face like the Michigan game, but if we make it to Houston it's gonna be 2006 rose bowl 2.0- blue blood playing at home vs another blue blood with passionate fans. Time to get that second mortgage if you want those tickets.
  22. Keeping my eye on the market too and it's brutal out there. It's like they know I'm going to pay whatever price they want because I'm an addict and really want my college aged kids to finally experience what it's like when Texas football is good. This might not be the place for it, and if it isn't I assume the OP has the power to nuke it, but any suggestions on a hotel within reasonable distance of stadium and bourbon street where a drunk middle aged guy with 2 kids is unlikely to get stabbed?
