  1. Just another example of the worlds best defenses somehow seem to struggle against good QB play....shocking I tell you. Though that league has damn good teams, they have shit for passing attacks. It’s all a fraud.
  2. Hell, it isn’t like it’s a secret. Just that no one with the ability to do anything about it has the balls to call them on it.
  3. Remember when a certain fan base laughed at Auburn for the Gus hire? Well Auburn now you know why.
  4. God I hope your being sarcastic? The guy has lost three games total since his hire. One of which was in the playoffs against “a super duper powerhouse we play the best defense in the world SEC team” in Georgia. Not only did they hang +30 points on that defense, they pretty much stopped the dick munches on ESPN from making those statements about Big12 teams in general. That incompetent Stoops gets ONE stop in that Georgia game, ONE, and it’s ou, not Georgia playing Alabama. Who by the way was probably a better match up. Considering that over the last 20 years ou has a better record against Alabama then Georgia, and has played them almost as many times (you got to love that SEC scheduling). Then he has a loss against us, by 3 on a last second field goal. A game that I will always argue is the most competitive rivalry game of all. Simply because how many times the favorite has been beaten. Only last years ISU game stands out. But again. One tends to look more at Stoops competence then Riley’s role. Had ou been able to get a Texas like effort from their guys that day they don’t lose that game. So overall nothing could be farther from the truth in comparing Riley to fucking Mac version I. Yes, as devils advocate you can accurately call out the fact those are Bob’s players. But you can’t bitch about what he has done with them. But bringing in Ruffin, a guy who will have a far better relationship with those players suggests they will get better. Their game today, at night, National TV, on the road, will pretty much tell us if they have improved under Ruffin. If they go to Lubbock and cover the spread (it’s at -14.5 as I write this) they should win out and make the playoffs. If not it won’t matter to us as we will probably play Moonshine Madness in the CG. Which I believe is a better match up. Beating WV twice seems a little more realistic then beating ou twice.
  5. Brian May signed off on it, for whatever that is worth.
  6. That is SEC speak that they had to pay Alabama.

One other thing. The NCAA is a 501(c)(3) organization. Which means they get to seal their books. Imagine what one would find if those ever became public. There are NCAA people from the old SMU days who’s fear was not killing SMU football. It was that the action would give SMU lawyers a toehold at forcing open the NCAA financial records. As at that time there were a number of supposed “loans” that were rumored to have been made.

What are laughing at? In the 90’s the NCAA was hammered for $54 million on those very grounds when they tried to cap salaries. What, you thought inflation brought about the absurd amount of money a D1 coach can earn? Fuck no, the NCAA didn’t want an arms race. The NCAA isnt dumb. They knew full well that if you pay a coach $10 million. Someone is going to ask why? And more importantly, how? Factor in that the most expensive element of any business is it’s workforce. And you get the O’Bannon case. One where a current players likeness shows up on a video game and he doesn’t receive any compensation, but the university does. Then again in 2013 this very issue again pops up on the hill. And again the Sherman Anti-Trust is waved like a Sabre. Fortunately for the NCAA, it was brought up during a lame duck Congress. A shot over the bow if you will. But don’t think for a second that the new transfer rules were out of the goodness of the NCAA’s heart. It is because they hear the dogs. And they will either eventually reform, of be replaced by a governing body. The money, and how to get a piece of it is what everyone is looking at.
  9. Shiiit, ou dodged a bullet losing Bomar, and Bell was nothing more then a very short but effective stopgap. Not exactly a accurate evaluation of just how well some really, really average QB’s have been made successful in a system that had continuity. They also are working on their 4th Heisman campaign under that system. Hate em for sure. But that’s a track record any team would enjoy.
  10. Meh, such is the nature of non-guaranteed contracts. The minimum is $450 a year, so Mullens got a little something, something in his stocking. On the other hand. You can pull a Flaco. Where you get compensated for what you have done, not what you will continue to do. He had a run of four exceptionally good games and received a $200 million contract because the Ravens brain trust refused to believe it an anomaly..
  11. Oooookkkkllllaaahhhhoooommmmaaa, where the wind comes blowing across the plains...
  12. No surprise. But that makes two high profile players who have been injured and declared (Bosa the other). I’m going to guess we will see more and more check out as we get closer to bowl season for this very reason.
  13. Apparently this is the team that everybody wants to play for. I’m guessing it’s all the guys who don’t have contracts?

Josh “Jelly Roll” Heupal has put on a few Lb’s since His playing days...
  15. Swoosh....right over your head. It’s from 28 days. Which seemed more relevant as we do have a drug user in this OSU conundrum.
  16. If history does in fact repeat itself. You have to believe that at some point someone will get the shitty end of a deal and start talking. Just as Fulmer did with Albert Means. Professionally it cost him everything, but it got Alabama’s hands dirty (again). As good as Saban may in fact be. No other program has ever went as far as he has gone with this current run without having an off year that was not ultimately shown as cheaters. From ou’s run in the 50’s and 70’s, to Miami’s runs in the 80’s and 90’s. With a few Auburn and Alabama runs thrown in from time to time. And though I don’t necessarily favor a congressional inquiry. Perhaps with the paying of players for their likeness, an unfair “playoff” selection, and who is actually getting over and making the real money. Maybe it is time to clean it up through legislation. And pulling the NCAA’s favored tax status, and in doing so opening their books for all to see.
  17. Really? You equate ones intelligence simply by their chosen occupation? You still have much to learn about the game of life. And how one will ultimately reflect on their life after the challenges are gone, and their bodies can no longer accomplish even the simplest of tasks that were far to often taken for granted during the prime of life. No wiser advice was ever given then find something you’re passionate about. Don’t let material items sway you. Or power corrupt you. Find that which fills not only your mind, but your body and you will have found the very reason why you are here.
  18. He is a perfect example of why a historically average university must give a coach time. He is true systems guy, and it takes a long time to implement what he does. He first has to clean out the exsisting players. That alone takes a few years. Only then can he bring in the players that will work in the environment that he, and he alone strictly controls. Add in the fact that he has to work twice as hard as a bigger more successful school for those recruits adds a couple of years to the plan. Then after 5 or 6 years when he finally has his offense going in the right direction he will then, and only then allow valuable scholarships to his defensive staff. That is where Tech really missed the boat. He was almost at the point where he was going to be a handful for a very long time. They were at the point where they were scoring plenty of points on anyone they played, but couldn’t field an effective defense. But only because he had not yet had time to build one. And before that could happen one incident, bolstered by a helicopter dad who had a voice on the most powerful sports network did him in. The Adam kid was a spoiled entitled little shit that couldn’t cut it. And one could argue that the kid probably shouldn’t have never been at a D1 school in the first place. He would have probably washed out regardless where he would have enrolled. But by Leech doing his old man a solid by recruiting him, he managed to kill his own career.
  19. The BYU guy on ESPN pretty much nailed what Durkin should have done. He suggested that as soon as the report was released, essentially clearing Durkin from any fear of legal action. He should have simply made a statement that expressed that he is resigning as of that day so that the program could move forward under new leadership. He then added some other shit, but the point was he stood pat while the investigation was conducted. And dismissed himself as soon as it concluded. This lets everyone off the hook so far as Durkin’s employment is concerned. A gesture that other potential employers will take notice of. That simple act probably lands him a coordinater job at a smaller school in which he could begin to rebuild his career. Rather then forcing the Board or anyone else into a hot political situation. Where no one is going to come out looking good after a young man has died.
  20. Every time I hear that Alabama is unbeatable: I think back to that Sugar Bowl against ou, and Finebaum’s dumb ass specifically calling out Stoops. And that he had no place on the same field with Saban. I think of Vegas and the point spread they put out. I think of every single talking head associated with the mouse saying it could never happen. Giving their expert opinions on every nuance of Alabama’s superiority. And then I think of the closing seconds of the broadcast showing the scoreboard. Yeah, things like that don’t happen.
  21. What the fuck is coaching to a standard? I fully understand having standards, but coaching? To many fucking variables the guy can’t control. It ain’t like he can fire his right tackle for failing to pick up a blitz when he doesn’t have another tackle. Coach him up a little? Sure. But if he ain’t meeting your standards because a future NFL HOF is mowing his ass over ain’t a whole lot he can do.
  22. I swear I feel this way as well. And if you live in this part of the country. ESPN has used their “these are not the droids you are looking for” to remove what little common sense the majority of SEC fans once had. In hindsight the mouse made a great move aligning themselves with the SEC fan base simply because like aggy most are happy being miles behind Bama, just as long as they’re ahead of them phaggot California and yankee schools. They took a page straight out of the southern political gameplan and used it on college football. And it worked.
  23. Fucking solid right there.
  24. Was Jenkins the right tackle? He accounted for at least three pancakes on a couple of run plays. Sure looked all conference to me. If I heard correctly they said he was 310, 320, and quick as hell.
