  1. I’m a capitalist. He is worth what someone is willing to pay him. With that said you don’t have to follow football very closely to quickly think of a bust at the position who got paid their money and soon after their numbers quickly spiraled on a downward trend.
  2. But, like I said. They, the trustees are currently enjoying their anonymity being all lumped together as”OSU”. If it should get personal, where a specific trustee is singled out for their decisions, including their Prez. Or forced into a press conference to explain why they went the way they did. It would change the narrative. Ain’t a single one of those fuckers going down for this shit. They are all basically getting free money to be part of the group. And it is a shit load of money and perks.
  3. If this stuff doesn’t settle down after the first Saturday of football, OSU might have to entertain the idea of sacking Meyer. We all know they knew from day one they desired to hold on to his lying, covering up ass no matter what was uncovered. But this is a pretty bad look for the university. Especially if people start mentioning specific trustees on boards like this aligning them by name to that POS Urb, delivery of sex toys to work, and now a fucking lunatic on Twitter shooting off his mouth. All of which may or may not pop during a google search.
  4. Interim coach who not only struggles to handle a press conference, but has never coached a division 1 team as the head man. And has been put into a less then ideal situation from a university president that has publicly taken responsibility for the death of a player less then two months ago. And has multiple people “monitoring” the football program. Seniors who just want out without getting hurt. Not to mention a Texas coaching staff that will not be surprised by the play calls coming from the QB position that caught us off guard in the first 30 minutes of last years game. Pretty much makes me believe that this thing could get out of hand pretty damn quickly for Maryland. Texas - 38 Maryland - 10
  5. Uh, ESPN. Herman is not the individual under investigation for lying, destroying evidence, and a subsequent cover up. Why put Herman’s name on the front page lacking anything other then a night out clubbing with other coaches? It reeks of yellow journalism. Intended to do nothing more then attempt to shift blame anywhere other then where it is. You know, on the wife beater. And his lying, cover up former boss.
  6. Hell, you may very well be right. But...destroying possible evidence by scrubbing the company phone, convenience of memory loss, FOIR. Not to mention employing a coach that has already had multiple issues with law enforcement, including restraining orders. That Urb failed to report to his superiors. All of that looks like the actions of someone who is attempting to cover something up, and has obviously not used good judgment. i also believe that your college professor sister is as far from being a leftist, as I am starting QB for Texas. This story is exactly the type of situation that anyone left of center would exploit. The old good old boy, man of power shits on the victim. Forget title X1 fucking 9. Urb has plenty of shit on his shoe, and if OSU wanted to they could have easily terminated him for cause. Damn guy, they got Tressel for tattoo gate!
  7. It is safe to say that OSU has already shown their hand multiple times. They have no intention of terminating their relationship with Urb. Should something criminal come to light that would force either law enforcement, or perhaps some elected official to have no choice but to get involved. Maybe then something would get set in motion. Untilsuch time just except the fact that OSU doesn’t really care. Now, he is just going to be embarrassed time and time again throughout the season. But at damn near $10 million per year I’m sure he can take it. If they were going to fire him, they would already done so. Scrubbing the phone appears to be a for cause reason by those who know the law. So they have an out should they ever change their minds? Like loose 5 or 6 games😏
  8. Whether some of you watch the show or not, they have owned Saturday mornings for years. Revenue is up, and they have a solid following compared to any other segment on the ESPN platform. And now with a new CEO who is very quietly cleaning up the mess the chemically dependent former CEO left them (like Jemelle Hill getting the boot today). Expect them to address moving on from Corso. Lee earned his check for years, and has been fun as the lovable goof ball comedian on the set. But for the success of the show to continue his spot must addressed. And please stop with the Rinalde heart warmers every fucking Saturday. There are 130 major universities, comprising thousands of players, coaches and staff. With that many people bad shit happens. Do that type of story once a month. Pick something informative, ironic or even cringe worthy. But back off the tear jerkers. And why they moved Fowler for Rece is still a mystery. Davis does a decent job. But when you catch him off set, like Dan Patrick you see a completely different personality. He is far better off set then when he is not pigeon holed into holding dumb ass Desmond’s hand, steering Lee. And trying not to get the company fecal matter on his suit from Herbie.Maybe Fowler just said fuck it and took the cut in pay? Going back to one hour would also make me happy. But Home Depot would never allow that with the investment they have in the show. If we don’t hear some type of built by Home Depot every 2 minutes they get unhappy. When the show is hitting their mark it can be entertaining. Though we are all burned out by the SEC agreement ESPN has. There are many other teams they could give a little time to.
  9. I can tell you about Nebraska. That entire state will go down on their knees for just a sniff of a playoff spot. The current generation has never witnessed a Husker championship.
  10. Shit, what about the dumb fuck “Bear” guy? Where did they find that fucking rube at? He looks like a special needs guy from Chicago, and he gets his own gig? One more reason to remind me what a failure I am. We have a dozen plus posters on this site that would make a better viewing experience. And are just as capable of reading off statistics.
  11. OK, what’s with the rude dog bullshit? What did I miss, and why is it in the aggy sniffs balls thread?
  12. And many are waiting for Urb to deploy that defense. And it would have SOME merit, if after the initial incident Meyer made Smith attend counseling, reduce wages, etc. But he didn’t, he didn’t do shit but attempt to cover it up. That is all his ass knows how to do. The old “it ain’t a crime if you don’t get caught”. And I’ll go one step farther. Does anyone truly believe Urb didn’t know about some of Aaron Hernandez’ antics? Hernandez was a starter, and starters are closer to their coaches then bench players. Especially really good players. Urb was not surprised when Aaron got popped.
  13. Damn, a fucking Twitter apology? This is one sorry mother fucker. The fact they are getting some really bad press right now suggests that it was the university, not Urb who decided they had to respond in some way to their failure of not mentioning Smith’s wife by name at the news conference. And this was the best that brain trust could come up with. Probably because old Urb told them to fuck off, and the university had to capitulate to him. No way Urb would agree to any more statements. That fucker has gone total bunker mentality, where everyone is an enemy. It is becoming obvious that until the news cycle moves on. OSU must be getting some additional heat from inside its own fan base, including boosters who are probably getting a little tired of defending this asshole. They want to believe he is worth defending. But even the hardliners are showing cracks. And the three stooges of PR are making it really easy to laugh at them. Who the fuck apologizes via Twitter in such a serious situation? You have to show some tears, long face, you know a little remorse when you act like a pig. Then the media (Herbie, courtesy phone!) will go back to blowing him.
  14. What brought this on? Was there something I missed. I have not heard anything that prompted Texas even bothering to float this.
  15. ou is and always be a pick-em simply because of the two schools traditions in that game. The better team has not always managed a win. And they have another midget....and we struggle with midgets. He won’t have Bakers arm, but the little shit can run. And I believe that is the only style that can consistently cause breakdowns and move the chains against our D. For me the other is USC. I don’t like them, but they have some players who will play at the next level. And they will not fall into the same trap thinking they just have to show up like they did last year. They will start the game better prepared. I say 10-2, only because I can’t bring myself to go 12-0.
  16. They better hope Jimbo is magic. Clemson is bringing 9 of last years starters on defense. Jimbo couldn’t handle them with his FSU team last year. So this should be fun for all of us.
  17. Only one.....Herbie just announced that they are still in the playoff conversation with Urb steering the ship. Cuz you know football and shit should make all of these destractions go away.
  18. Sadly you are correct. That is some fucked up shit.
  19. What I am struggling to get my arms around is that these are supposed to be people who have the benefit of a classical education. How can those that are by any metric intelligent, do so many unintelligent things? My guess is that gold is a powerful mother fucker. How did this group, along with the administrations of any number of institutions that have made the news for all the wrong reasons over the last few years manage to land their jobs in the first place? The level of incompetence is difficult to measure. All of them however have shown the exact same characteristics. They have no problem telling a lie, cheating, or covering something up. Whatever means necessary to hide their mistakes/crimes. This is what is shaping the young minds at these schools? Man, the only thing I can see is what one should do, or not do, if you get caught. And if your status is high enough in the club we will run cover for you. Even if we have to allow the president to look like a buffoon.
  20. We have already beat this to death. It ain’t a problem, until it’s a problem. Mike Price showed us why going to the club didn’t fuck him. It was when the stripper stole his wallet and university credit card......and then bought $2000 worth of shit with it that fucked him. Same shit with Herman. So fucking what, he likes titties? He isn’t the one with the “I like to go Mike Tyson on the old lady” problem. That belongs entirely to Smith. Those types of salacious headlines are only applicable when the shit hits the fan. And even then, it is only because it makes a lazy journalist have something to start their story with. Being at the club in of itself is a non story, unless the bosses/contract specifically told you not to go into such establishments. Fuck Bucknutz, they are bleeding and can’t stand that everyone sees their true colors. And it kills them to admit they are the Dirty low down pieces of shit they are. What they should be concerned with is that our guy was smart enough to get the fuck out of that shithole.
  21. I haven’t seen this yet, but if true. What you are seeing is a young man who just realized that he made a huge mistake trusting the organization. That doing things like that dumb ass ESPN piece, only served to help OSU and Urb, not him. The time to deal was before the report was made public, forcing the grand inquisition to change the language if he spoke out. Regardless of his indiscretions his message would have been gobbled up by the media coming from a remorseful Smith. He could have then laid bare any and all tawdry details that we all love to hear about any one but ourselves. Now it just appears as simple blackmail. The dumb kid thought the university, as well as Urb would take care of him. And at the very least find him a landing spot. It probably just dawned on him when he tried to call around and realized his number was blocked. And no one will take his calls.
  22. That is a fair response. There very well may be enough diversity in companies that are still willing to take a risk by allowing an employee to visit such a club while on company business. And are also willing to deal with any blow back should an incident occur while their employee was there. Including any embarrassing press that could impact conservative boosters. A good example that applies in this case is of course Mike Price. He spent, what, one day as Alabama’s head coach before a dancer lifted his wallet and university credit card? Had that not happened Alabama was on the hook for 13.5 million. But they used his visiting the club as the cause for dismissal. And he was the victim of a crime! The university wrote ambiguity into his conduct clause. And though it didn’t specifically spell out clubbing or exotic dancer, it gave them leverage over any claim to guaranteed money the university was liable for. That said it is hard to believe any organization would allow such a situation unless they were confident that neither public opinion or any authority over the company simply doesn’t mind if an incident occurs. Just my take on the optics of this case with how the situation with Smith played out. Because I’m sure you noticed that it took all of three minutes for the media to jump all over him being at the club.
  23. What level of management were/are you in? I don’t wish to disparage you so please don’t take my comment personally. But my experience is with a company that I was employed with for over 40 years. And with a law department of over 30 attorneys. I can assure you going into a strip club was a huge problem. And every year that law department required All managers to sign a Code of Conduct contract. Every fucking year!
  24. Unfortunately yes, it ain’t the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s or 00’s anymore. Almost every company considers those that are traveling while on company business to be “on the clock” while on the road. That they represent their organization the entire time. So yes, behavior such as blowing on G-strings while doing shots of Pappy is verboten. I’m sure there are exceptions, but most employee handbooks spell this out very clearly. A direct result of the Information Age, and law departments that have found themselves embarrassed and liable for an employe’s behavior while on the clock.
