  1. I tried to like it, but it didn’t work for me. The chemistry between Damon and Affleck felt forced, which is odd considering they have worked together before. That was a good cast, it should have been much better.
  2. If you’re old enough to remember. Buddy Hackett’s HBO special was solid. Up until that moment you had to catch him live to hear his stuff uncensored. HBO brought him to America, and the guy had style. Redd Fox’s HBO special was the same. When those two guys were unfiltered they were fucking awesome. I know they get lost because it was so long ago, but they were really fucking good.
  3. Saul Zaentz Is the primary reason. He was a piece of shit. Though he apparently was savvy enough to get Fogerty to sign a terrible contract. Fogerty was young, fresh out of the army. Had he not signed that contract CCR probably doesn’t break up, at least not until they exhausted their streak. And Fogerty would hold a far higher place in R&R lore.
  4. I just did the same thing. The show works for me.
  5. New season drops sept 4th.
  6. Georgia will be a different team without Brock, but they’ll be efficient because of Carson. Bobo is still Bobo, so the play calling will criticized by both fan and foe. However they have plenty of talent, and they will be physical. A tough schedule will challenge them. Getting them at DKR is huge for us.
  7. I stole your line. I was with a buddy of mine in this little shitty pizza bar tavern that has live music here in town. During the set change a couple walks by me and the guy sees the boots and asks me “what are those?”. Your line just popped into my head and I blurted out “panty droppers”. They busted out laughing and bought my buddy and I a round. From here on out that’s what I’m calling them.
  8. Western Diamondback. They do have a model name, I’ll post it for you, but I’ll have to dig up the order form. And like you they shipped to my home. The photo really doesn’t do them justice. These are the first pair I have seen that used the Rattler on the adjacent seems that form the top above your foot. Every other pair I looked at appears as if they used a glue line, or hidden stitch to form the top. Almost like they were trying to hide the seem. The problem with doing it that way is your eyes are drawn to the mismatched pattern of the skin. By acknowledging the variation with the use of the rattler, it is far more pleasing to the eye. And the pattern difference becomes irrelevant. That little change makes a huge difference when seen in sunlight. I also can’t say enough about the fit. If memory serves me they took 6 measurements not including the standard shoe sizing gizmo. I have worn them 6 or 7 times and they feel better each time I put them on. They are comfortable as hell.
  9. The Doors simply didn’t age well. From what I have read I’m of the opinion that Paul Rothchild was probably the biggest reason the first five albums really weren’t that good. Robbie and Ray have been quoted many times on how Paul was a creative problem with the band. Maybe it was a coincidence, but LA Women, by far their most successful effort. Only happened after Rothchild was gone.
  10. Yeah, I missed that one.
  11. I don’t have a problem with it, I’m just not sure I fully understand it? It’s like a solution that is looking for a problem.
  12. Maximum Overdrive. AC/DC soundtrack, and the lawnmower scene is hilarious. I read that King cut a lot of scenes fearing an X rating.
  13. Meh, I’m an old guy who has watched GameDay since its inception. Change is nothing new. Beano Cook, Tim Brando and Lee Corso were nothing like the Fowler years that followed, nor the Rece Davis era that followed that. Not to mention that Craig James, Trev Albert’s, and many others had time on the show. So lineup changes are pretty commonplace. ESPN is in the entertainment business. It is the first word in the acronym. Changing the lineup is part of the process/evolution, and bringing Pat onboard is just another iteration of that process. I respect the guy. He played in the league, and has built his brand. What has changed is the saturation. In the late 80’s they were the only game in town. No internet, and cable TV was still growing. In today’s market there are many options for eyeballs. They almost have to be a little louder, a little more over the top just to keep/maintain their market share. Pat gives them some of that. Now, Tim Rinaldi, they can jettison his ass any fucking time.
  14. I believe you’re correct. I was instructed to use Saphir Reptan? I ordered some from Amazon. When it comes in I’ll try it in a small area just to see what happens.
  15. I’ve heard a lot of negative noise about western diamondback. Apparently they are not as durable as other animal skin, and you have to treat them carefully. Time will tell if I made a poor choice.
  16. Try this again. I ordered two pair that I had fitted in Nashville last year. These came in first, the others should arrive by the end of the month. They do damn good work.
  17. Never mind
  18. You saying this guy don’t know his shit, no way!
  19. It’s a fun mind game, but I find it impossible to be sincere and list a favorite artist. The same would apply to my favorite book, or my favorite movie. It depends on the mood I’m in at the time.
  20. I looked at it as a plot device. It was a way to keep his old man in the show. Was it lazy? Probably so, but it made sense. Like you I just stumbled on the show, and binged watched it. The music connection really helped me settle into it.
  21. Funny reading some of that shit. Anyone who was in Dallas during the 60’s and 70’s would agree that a Horn’s down gesture was the least of concerns coming from the OU fanbase. Shit, we used to throw fucking empty bottles at one another. And a good time was had by all.
  22. You should enjoy reading how people will dance around your question. Because no one on this thread has the brass to give you their honest opinion. But of course you knew that before you posed the question.
  23. Solid work. You’ve developed a keen eye for composition.
  24. And yet they could have. Going for it really wouldn’t have even been risky. The sport has turned into pure entertainment and feels scripted.
