  1. Time will tell whether your analysis is correct. As far as I’m concerned the bigger issue when dealing with OU isn’t individual match ups, its Riley. How Stoops managed to identify, evaluate, and get him to Norman is still a mystery to me. How was a guy so good, yet so far under the radar that not one team in the southeast picked him up? You don’t go 24-3, win two conference championships, land two Heismans in the process. AND make the playoffs in your first two years on the job and not know what the fuck you are doing. And yet no one who matters saw that potential but fucking Stoops? He may very well flame out (he wouldn’t be the first). But, as long as he is on their sidelines they will be a tough out. And if he lucks into a title, well that damn sure won’t make it any easier.
  2. One thing we have firmly established. And that is for all of the security, a single entry point, and what are supposed to be competent intelligence organizations. They fucking suck at keeping track of the comings and going’s of anyone going through. Hell, there are fucking people everywhere unaccounted for. And I like 97horns take. With so many gaffs by those in-charge. It seems perfectly plausible that the experiment is ongoing. Even more so when you throw in management stating Mira was dead as matter of fact. When she is very much alive and continuing her ways. Something you could believe they would introduce to a test group under observation to see the how and why’s of such a deception. The same with showing the new chick the video of the early years when two people learned of their double. And quickly turned aggressive.
  3. They will do very well in my opinion. Last year OU showed how simply changing up the line splits caused Georgia difficulties trying to determine who had who. The first half of that game, Georgia consistently found their LB’s standing in the wrong spot. Georgia is used to opposing offensive linemen being very close, almost to the point of their feet touching. Pretty much the MO of all SEC teams with the exception of maybe Missouri and perhaps Ol’ Miss?
  4. A significant change has occurred over the last 36 hours. The fact that Fields has allowed his discussion of possibly transferring to be made public, casts an interesting twist on this Georgia team. The last time the issue of who plays came up was prior to the LSU game. Fromm’s performance that day was pretty bad. Many speculated that Fromm was simply uncomfortable looking over his shoulder and was simply concerned about playing poorly, which he did. Should Fields transfer it would make Fromm Georgia’s only scholarship QB. Though they have two potential recruits coming in to much fanfare. They have zero depth at the position. And a lot can happen between now and kick off. I believe this favors Texas. Smart will feel he needs to get both players snaps. And though that may not bother them at all. It could also blow up in their faces.
  5. I take it that many of you are unfamiliar with the former Chief of the Sugar Bowl committee Paul Hoolahan? Nor is it a coincidence that this playoff conversation is now coming to light since his recent retirement. A retirement that has created a vacuum in the hierarchy of the big money of college football regarding the bowl games. As the Chief of the Sugar Bowl, Hoolahan single handedly steered college football into believing the Bowls were integral to the sport. When the truth was they never were. And expanding the playoffs will show that to be true. And why under his watch we never were able to properly expand. Believe what you want. But, it has never been about the logistics, or amount of games, or even player safety. It was about protecting their investment in television and having marquee teams in which to select from. And of course controlling the system to get those teams. Expansion would force the Rose, Orange, etc to take whatever team makes it. That could possibly force a UConn like situation from years back that killed their numbers. And why the Big East had to die. Along with its automatic bid to teams that no Bowl game wanted. The arbitrary method of determining a champion should have died years ago. And would have if not for Hoolahan.
  6. I think he kept Thigpen?
  7. You’re right man. I concede. I appreciate your input.
  8. We’re debating two different things. My original comment was LJH has the physical attributes to compete at Jones’ level. With the caveat of receiving proper NFL coaching. I certainly understand some disagreeing with that sentiment. I didn’t say LJH was as good, would ever be that good, or would make the Pro Bowl. I said that he possess things you can’t coach or are difficult to change. Height, weight and strength, things that can limit a receiver. Hell, he may fucking flop. As you pointed out, he wouldn’t be the first. I’m sorry, I like the guy. I think he is something special. I also think he hasn’t been utilized properly. But I made no guarantees he would be great. Just that he could.
  9. Jesus fucking Christ man. I clearly pointed that out.
  10. I agree 1400 yards is a great stat for negotiation your contract. And why he held out, and didn’t report to camp. But give me 1000 yards and more touchdowns. I would take Brown, Beckham and probably Green over Jones as of today. And I’m not the only one who sees it that way.
  11. We’re debating two different things. My original comment was LJH has the physical attributes to compete at Jones’ level. With the caveat of receiving proper NFL coaching. I certainly understand some disagreeing with that sentiment. So far as Jones and his 5 years of accumulative stats. They are essentially meaningless when put into perspective. He was far more effective with Shanahan then he will ever be with Sark. Dan Quinn made it to the Super Bowl with Shanahan. Atlanta has become vanilla under Sark. Not to mention Jones did a far better job of running routes under Shanahan, especially when plays broke down. For all of Atlanta’s supposed weapons, Jones no longer is the threat he was two years ago. Nor is the Atlanta offense.
  12. Look up what Jones did in 2010. Compare it to what LJH has done this year. He is also taller then Jones, 10 lbs heavier and better in the weight room. Get him NFL coaching to exploit his physical advantages. And as far as I’m concerned he has the ability to be far better. Jones is a disappearing act in the Atlanta offense when things get physical. He gets doubled and gets lazy, because it is tough to have DB’s on your ass the entire game. Yes he can make some great catches, but he also has some really bad drops.
  13. So far as any of us? Very few care. So far as any coach currently out recruiting? Every damn one of them cares. And why even Alabama is pushing for the award. A school that recruits lights out every single year still puts value in one of their own winning it. As bullshit as it may be. Having team and individual awards, including the most recognizable trophy in collegiate sport can do a lot for recruiting.
  14. It is easy to spew shit like that from the high ground. And his basketball analogy was dumb as hell. The SEC’s biggest advantage is how they generous they are treated in the polls after a loss. Where as all of you know it is almost impossible for a team that starts the season highly ranked to ever fall out. LSU, aggy, Auburn and Florida sort of hovered around until they picked up a win and jumped right back up into the meat of the top 25.
  15. God damn I can’t quit laughing at this. I’m so sorry I know it’s wrong. But damn it’s funny as hell.
  16. If you’re a first rounder talent you’re an idiot to go out and play another game. If you have the chance to play for a title, well that makes it a really tough decision. Hedge your bet and buy as big a policy as you can afford. I’m sure your future agent will front the cash.
  17. I’m drinking Pappy and don’t have anything else to do?
  18. LJH’s numbers are similar. Was there a reason he wasn’t part of the nominee’s? Or did I miss that? They are only separated by a few yards, but I don’t know how many catches.
  19. Glancing over the NCAA code under transportation. I see nothing regarding the player himself flying. But allowing a parent or family member on board would by the NCAA’s definition be considered an extra benefit. And therefore a violation. Again, not that anyone who matters would bother to address it.
  20. I’m not going to bother googling all of them. But I remember a fishing trip snafu when two Auburn players went deep sea fishing on a boat belonging to one players father, as well as a funeral where transportation was provided that caused some shit. I’m sure there are others. But hey, Im going to guess that since the aircraft belongs to the university of ESPN (SEC) it won’t matter. Hell, they will probably use it as a recruiting tool.
  21. Oh I don’t know, sort of Gilligan’s station like. Sit right back and hear a tale, a tale of some fucked up shit.
  22. In my area this is the way to go. A 5 piece sets you back about $500, and you could easily get most of that back should she decide drums ain’t her thing. But pos rep on getting her on a throne. More girls should pick up drums.
  23. The 4003 Jetglo was an early addition to my collection because of Chris Squire. And I loan many of the instruments in my collection out to other musicians who may not have access to high quality quitars and basses. And though I love it, I have found that most guys that play it can’t seem to get comfortable with it.
  24. Shitlanta sucks. Hartsfield sucks ass. Racetrack has better hot dogs than that Varsity shithole. Although the aggy that was in the place had a saw and looked very bewildered. Strange take on Atlanta from an Austin guy? I travel between the two cities frequently. And the similarities between Austin and the rest of the demographic of Texas. Very much resembles Atlanta and the demographics of the rest of Georgia. Almost twin sons of different mothers. You must have had a much different experience?
