  1. But funny thing about “we’re Texas” and the money. For as much as money Texas has, and I’m sure it’s a shit load. And how far above everyone else we may feel about playing the role of the Jones’. How do you quantify return? Universities believed to posses far fewer resources have gotten far more return. Looking at schools like UConn, Duke, Kentucky, all have managed to be far more successful all while being perceived as having far, far fewer resources then Texas. Unfortunately this holds true in football as well. Though we do have a recent title in 05, the other three occurred in a far different era. Only baseball has managed to rise up and go title hunting at least once a decade. So where exactly does this perceived advantage of wealth come into play? When over the course of the last 45 years the results simply do not support that having more money then the other guys equals any more success then those that barely get by?
  2. No surprise. Most believe Helton’s days Are numbered and Kliffy can step right in. Some may not agree but College football is better with a good SC team. No one else in the PAC (including Washington when they compete for a title) comes close to what SC can do when the Trojans force the media to focus attention on the west coast.
  3. My opinion is any criticism is allowed related to football. Nothing is allowed about the family or the kids personal life. That becomes part of a conversation of a professional, and Hager is not that. Im also old school about antics. They are fun only when everything is going good. But, they tend to come back to haunt you if they don’t. Most of what we see today is the results of modern technology that allows things to be seen and heard by more people then at any other time in history in real time. And the consequences can be far more harsher. The referees too were aware of his actions and what he said prior to the game. You don’t think that those comments could of had even a little bit of influence of them deciding to keep their flags in their pockets? People are people, they don’t always behave in the way you think they will. Or say they will. We all have our bias, our feelings and our own issues. We spend a lot of time only showing others what we want them to see.
  4. Of course it was. Now we know why all the lawyers were sitting around him during the process. When he wasn’t under a criminal investigation. It was a University issue where the schools President, etc acted as judge, jury, executioner. Urban wasn’t going into that without counsel. Not with north of $14 million on the line. And we can guess why Smith lost his shit a few weeks ago. He received his end of the deal that wasn’t what he thought it would be, went out on a bender and started hemorrhaging accusations. OSU had to get him back under his rock. Then we see Urb’s wife crying after the Michigan game. And as far as I’m concerned, she is still the one that can cause the most problems. If she somehow gets angry, she could hurt them all. Then you wonder who is still out there who may know about all of this shit going back to Urb’s Florida days. And how do they feel about it? Money makes people do things they claim they never would do.
  5. Same reason they pronounce Houston as House-ton Or Martinez as Mart-tin-ez. They couldn’t find a hooked on phonics CD.
  6. He looked quite happy on TV today. Smiling and talking about never playing in the Rose Bowl. Like a shit ton of pressure was taken off his back.
  7. Norman Park, wanna hook up and talk football? Before you edited that last post you used the term brisket, ain’t no one around these parts eat brisket.
  8. Yeah, in a way you can’t imagine. Know your route, there are some one way streets that will put you in tough neighborhoods if you get stuck on one. I-20 borders the back and there is no easy access to a ramp in which to catch it. If you miss the first turn off you will be forced to drive laterally. You will not like the scenery. And there is zero police presence away from the dome. One walk around the place will tell you all you need to know about conceal carry. And always walk in groups to and from your car. Lots of panhandling going on, from all types. Those that ask and move on, no problem. Unfortunately there are also those that use the intimidation method. Most mean no harm, they just know it makes people uncomfortable and will throw em some cash. Once near the actual facility there is enough of a police presence to go about your business in relative safety. Like many such facilities they have a good way of keeping bad news out of the press. And never ending construction. Just because a street is open today doesn’t mean shit tomorrow.
  9. I asked you a question up thread asking where your ass lives, I’m interested?
  10. My numbers were season averages in yards over 12 games pulled from the Georgia site I googled? I have no idea of their accuracy.
  11. You don’t just walk away from Liberty, Liberty walks away from you. You could poll a 1000 knowledgeable college football fans, and there is a damn good chance not a single fucking one of them knows where Liberty University is located.
  12. They’re actually pretty balanced at 262/237 for the year. Those numbers suggest they don’t specifically rely on any one thing. Though playing UMass, Middle Tennessee State and Austin Peay. Along with some really bad teams like Tennessee, South Carolina and Tech all of which would skew the mean.
  13. 4 game rule
  14. Hold the fucking phone, you a Georgia fan? Where the fuck you live?
  15. They spun on a dime once the announcement came out. They dropped the Georgia shtick and replaced it with Tua and Murray Heisman talk. All planned and orchestrated. None of them really believe any of the shit their saying. But it pays well. I would like to add. After listening to Chris Fowler as well as his expressions while others were saying some of that dumb shit. I believe I now know why he handed Gameday over to Reece. He just simply got to old, to tired that he could no longer do their theater. His analysis was quick to the point and didn’t seem to mind taking a shot at Georgia with “they just played their playoff game, they lost, they’re out” It actually took me by surprise.
  16. He empties my septic tank in Thomson, just ignore him.
  17. So my question is this. Are these just regular posters socks doing some of this posting cuz their bored, or Sooners cuz their stupid? and I’ll get it out of the way: Why not both?
  18. Truth is he doesn’t appear to be physically strong. I haven’t seen his numbers in the weight room. But if I had to throw a guess out there he lifted more along the lines of DB’s and safety’s. Then he did with LB’s and linemen. If he does lift with his group then his technique must be really bad. That lack of strength was a huge liability in filling up space. Opposing teams played against him like he wasn’t there.
  19. You know what is sad. Is that to a passerby they wouldn’t know if this is actually real or not? The fact it could actually be real is why sooner or later the SEC will be forced to euthanize them.
  20. Yep, that one cleared the upper deck. Well done...
  21. It just feels like a screw job by the SEC. and maybe I’m a conspiracy guy. But once again it gives them plausible deniability should the Cowboys win. As it will be dismissed as a former Big 12 team, and not an SEC team. Kentucky would have been a better matchup. I would much rather see Gundy go off on a Stoops, while breaking foot off on a shitty Kentucky team the media had the nerve to rank as high as they did. And doesn’t have any idea how to defend the forward pass, nor how to throw one. With OSU putting all 11 defensive guys at or near the LOS. As a unit they would have enjoyed that.
  22. This here, this right here is the correct answer. Man propaganda really works. We have been beat into submission that no one can go toe to toe with those guys. When in reality let us play and find out. If Sam is healthy, and to me the most important part of the game. They will have to adjust away from what they feel most comfortable doing on defense. They will be forced to drop LB’s in coverage, play man, and gamble that Sam doesn’t take off running. Something they only had to do once...and that was this weekend. Jalen Hurts isn’t Superman. But his ass can run and throw. And he showed Texas the blueprint to what happens when the Georgia LB’s are forced to think, adjust and make the play. And not just attack the LOS to stop the run ala’ Kentucky. This weekend they failed miserably at doing that. In fact, it looked a lot like a big 12 game they way Alabama stormed back. Though no one in the media will acknowledge that. Combined with the vertical style of their D-Linemen. Who are coached to go balls out to the QB because against the offenses they faced this year there was little fear of a quick accurate passing attack. They will now be required to analyze the play. And play defense just like we do and dance horizontally with the O-Linemen until they sniff out the play. If they don’t do that draws, traps and misdirection plays will give Texas a huge opportunity to use their very strength against them.
  23. Depends. As has already been pointed out. By midway through the second quarter Ruffin had already tossed his scheme and went back to running Mike’s 4-3 defense. But, If you use the score, regardless of how you feel about penalties. Ruffin managed to limit Texas to a little more then half of what Mike did in Dallas. If you use individual performance. Well, that too favors Ruffin as LJH, who will excel at the next level didn’t have the same game or impact he did in October. OU instead felt that he was the bigger of the two receivers they absolutely had to double. Leaving Johnson to get more YPC, but isn’t as much of a take it to the house threat LJH is. If you use rushing yards, well 88 is far less then 177. And probably the un-talked about difference in the game. Then too, If you use luck. Well, that too favors Ruffin. Because it was pure fucking luck Sam missed those two wide fucking open receivers at the beginning of the game that would have given Texas a 21-6 lead. And none of that takes into account Po’s take up thread on Herman going for it at the end of the first half. That many, including myself believe to have been a 14 point swing.
  24. I have to agree with that bolded part, though I understand that in real time Herman probably felt his chances were pretty good that they wouldn’t be able to drive the field and score. But in hindsight I agree 100% that was a 14 swing.
  25. Fuck you they didn’t care. That is the same fucking song they already have queued up for Texas Georgia. Nick Saban has never played a game his entire life that he or his team didn’t care about. Saban without asking has people like Finebaum inject shit like that into the conversation after they got humiliated on national television. After which they had to spend the better part of a week explaining how a team that seemed as though every single talking head said they would bet their house on...........lost. A result Stoops called by the way. Then watching Finebaum get dressed down by every single ESPN anchor including Stoops, was great TV. Say what you want about Stoops but he stood his fucking ground on that SEC bullshit and that single game could have killed him. Unfortunately what it did do was wake Saban up to accept the idea to stop bitching about HUO and get a passing game, which he did as he hasn’t missed the playoffs since that loss to OU. But didn’t care? My ass.
