1. The 6x7 format is my favorite format. I know I’ve spouted this off before, but its insane the film camera market now, especially medium format. I used to kick the idea of RZ67 II around when they were on Craigslist for $650. Now they’re 3x. I have a Pentax 67 and a mamiya 645. The Pentax you could use as a weapon if need be. It’s a solid beast. Ive been watching hasselblads on eBay, something like the h4 and H5 series. You can use both film and Digi backs on those.
2. Oh I’m not judging man. I like the look too.
3. Using Alien skin for those film borders?
4. If I have the discord app is there a way to search for the stonk room or do I need to click the link? I’m on mobile through tapa.
5. I’m digging the red background. So sultry. I actually love to figure out lighting in tight and unconventional spaces. It really gets your ingenuity going. But yeah if you could pull that soft box back you could probably tone down the highlight on the nose. Or you have any sheer curtain laying around? How about a clear shower curtain? I’ve seen people do all sorts of shit. Those will probably warm up your color temp but might be nice. Edit: I like her looking more into the light at an angle. Now just get her to shift those eyes back to the camera.
6. Ah those were the days.
7. RCRanger03 RC, what’s your feeling on RXMD? I know you like the guy that wrote up the Reddit DD piece. Is this a stock you’d continue to accumulate on dips?
8. Oops.
9. Sharpes on. Here we go.
10. I’m on the zoom link but there have yet to be signs of life.
11. I guess this is a $6.95, but does everyone have a problem with the TFB site? When you login to the donor site, it just reloads the login page and you have to login again. Every. Time. And often, it’ll jump you into some random thread that you didn’t click. And now, it seems reallly slow to load once you login, to the point you think the website is down. I’d complain but there is literally no contact method on the site. OnAComputer
12. Looks like someone included an extra 0 when selling some FPVD, an order went through for .0023. That must be a nice surprise to check your account, the purchase, not the sell, obviously.
13. Fuck this week
14. See if you can get some RXMD in the low .12s
15. RXMD is currently on sale if anyone is interested.
16. Ha, you’re going to know when the TSNPD gate opens for sure...
17. Pretty good. Hopefully that holds when everyone that actually owns shares can trade.
18. Today just feels like it’s going to be weird. Maybe ALPP can get the uplist news and save us.
19. My TOS and TDA app still showing the numeric placeholder and not TSNPD. Anyone else?
20. Looking nice man! Yeah, you got it. Not really a ton of options when dealing with a hat: Push the brim up or have the model tilt the chin up to help light get under, but that changes the whole mood. You could use a disk reflector/bead board/show card on the ground to bounce light back up under, but with a tight space setup like the one here, you might not have the angle to do so. If you had another light you could shoot it into the wall behind the camera and it would act as a soft fill to just lift the shadows under the brim while leaving your softbox to set the mood. But yeah, lowering the light is the quickest and most effective. You can also see that black felt, black velvet anything like that absolutely absorbs light like a blackhole. You did great with the hat/hair light on camera left to show the shape of the hat. That and the leather band showing up from the key light does justice to the hat. It works better with an umbrella/softlighter, but you can try a little trick with the softbox. Instead of pointing the light directly at her face there, rotate the light a little to the left. It will feel like the middle of the softbox is aimed at a point just in front of her nose. It'll help "wrap" the light around her face a little and illuminate the other side. If your softbox is rectangular, you can rotate it so the long axis is horizontal and it'll help wrap as well. Full body that won't work, but since it's a tight portrait, it should be fine. Give it a shot, if you have questions, lemme know. You should get a model and start shooting a real person - it definitely ups the stakes as you're now watching the hair, the makeup, the posing and trying to effectively communicate with the model while capturing the moments. Looking good man, keep it up.
