For me personally, the Arkansas game will be the first checkpoint to see if this team has grown up and turned a little corner. I would imagine most kids if not every player on Texas roster has no idea just how deep that hate runs for Texas in Arkansas. That place will be fairly hostile and will probably be the most hostile environment they play in all year excluding the  RRR which is 50/50.

Us leaving the Big 12 is going to amp up the hostility for all our road games (TCU, Baylor, Iowa St, and West Virginia).

Arkansas may still be the worst, but I bet those WVU fans will be hopped up on their "Mountain Dew" when we go over there.

If you think that's bad (it is), a certain CFB talking head picked aggy to win the Big XII.  He is associated with the cesspool known as Columbus, Ohio.

If you think that is bad, a certain Austin sports writer with a degree from UT voted for Reggie Bush instead of Vince Young for the Heisman.

Kai kinda reminds me that Jordy Nelson kid that wasn't overly fast or super athletic. He just seemed to materialize all by himself 8 yards down field on 3rd and 7. Everyone in the stands would just yell, "Why won't someone cover that little fucker?".

I immediately thought of Jordy Nelson when I saw the post above. 15 years ago he would have ended up at KSU and none of us would have cared until he scored 3 TDs against Texas. Then Mack would remind everyone that winning is hard.

RIP JR, perhaps my favorite Astro ever.
His stroke in 1980 is one of the lowest points in Houston sports history.

Yes that was shocking news when it happened and it certainly felt like a death blow to their 1980 season.

With JR they are in the World Series in 1980 and possibly 1981 as well.

There is absolutely zero point of being the highest grossing athletic department in the entire country if we are just going to act miserly with our earnings. Fuck this parsimonious shit and play the game!

However, I can't imagine Eltife and Hartzell would want us in the SEC if that wasn't their intention.

Our athletic department is anything but miserly. We make a lot of money, but we spend a lot of money. Lots of mouths to feed on the payroll.

Isn’t one of the Brocks already on the roster as a preferred walk-on? We like him at least, right?

Luke Brock is a LB at UT. And yes, we like him. His twin OL brothers are at Bama.

Now hold on one moment.... While am very disappointed in the twins decision, I did understand it.. We are now in a very very different position.

    I predict the following -

    1) Texas to play in SEC for 2022

    2) Brocks redshirt this season

    2) Brocks transfer to Texas

    3) Profit

Oh and we get Manning to boot.

    I predict the following:

    1. Texas plays in the SEC in 2022
    2. Brocks find Alabama tougher than their private school league
    3. Brocks want to transfer to Texas, but get turned down
    4. Brocks end up at SMU
    5. Profit

Someone refresh me: was everyone really this angry at A&M when they left the Big 12? I remember a lot of shit talk, poking fun, but not a whole lot of "Wahhhhhh you selfish bastards!" Seems like some conveniently hard to disprove talking point that's been rolled out by the aggy media today.

We were pissed because when Mizzou started flirting with the Big 10, we arranged a deal with the Pac 10 that included aggy but aggy blew up the deal at the last minute. Nebraska took the Big 10 slot that Mizzou wanted. Colorado went to the Pac 10. All the remaining Big 12 schools agreed to commit to the BIg 12. The Big 12 even offered an extra share of revenue to UT, OU, and aggy to remain in the conference. UT and OU declined, aggy took it. aggy then secretly negotiated with SEC to join them.

In all the realignment escapades, we tried to include aggy. But they fucked up our chance to leave while making sure they had a way out.

Would Curry be holding KD's hand the whole time? Curry would have his hands (and ears) full with MJ while Bird would be playing mind games on KD and Magic would be echoing and laughing at what his teammates would be saying.
If they are using current rules, the young guys would be a man down after somebody loses their cool and throws a punch.

That's a fair point. We know Steph and LeBron have the mental toughness. My third is kind of a pussy, but he doesn't have AIDS at least

They have mental toughness, but not Jordan or Bird level.

We've already watched Curry shield Durant from Lebron's shit talk. He'd protect him from MJ too. Bird, Jordan and Curry are the only three dudes that intimidate anyone but we already know Steph isn't scared. He and LeBron would do enough to keep KDs confidence going as long as they locked him out of his Twitter burners

That's fair too. He was a good defender in maul ball 90s NBA. But defensively he was at his best on the prowl between the paint and the arc. Curry would have so much space to shoot. Imagine curry running around a LeBron screen and Bird trying to run around it (Or Magic trying to switch). So many open shots. It'd be ugly.

You don't even have the right decade. Bird's prime was definitely in the 80's.

How in the fuck will the young bucks guard MML? They don’t stand a chance

And Bird wouldn't have the range to keep LeBron from packing the paint a bit vs Magic and him.

    Bird wouldn't have the range?

You just proved you don't know what you're talking about.
